Re: The FUNDAMENTAL issue with 2k17's AI Defense
Yeah madden has really made strides and the beet part about it is the devs actually talk to you about things. I haven't heard anything from 2k devs since launch. But about this game im constantly using colorful language along the lines of why would u do that. Stay on your man I set you to deny whatare u doing etc.Comment

Re: The FUNDAMENTAL issue with 2k17's AI Defense
I'm finding the game stale. I haven't felt like this since 2k10. Surprisingly Kobe was on cover as well. Coincidence?
Anyway....I'm going to wait for the patch and the roster updates to hopefully fix some of this God awful defense.
Lots of games coming up soon so I'm good at shelving 2k a bit. LolComment

This thread is too good to turn into a 2k/dev bashing thread...
Lets get back to the subject at hand fellas.....Comment

Huh? Beluba, the lead 2K dev has been in the forums since day one. Since 2k4 for that matter. Just replied to a post earlier this morn from another users suggestions. He's been diligent about feedback for the upcoming patch.
As for the defensive AI, I'm with everyone else here. It blows. After putting in so much time, the issues with user teammates AI leaving men wide open, taking bad angles and just flat out having constant brain farts is becoming a glaring issue. It's almost like spotting the cpu 10 points a game cause they get those wide open looks to often at the mercy of the AI.http://neverfollow.biz (Independent Music Group)Comment

It's crushingly disappointing that one of the major problems with the game from last year, seems not to have been touched.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.
Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: The FUNDAMENTAL issue with 2k17's AI Defense
Certainly some good things pointed out in this thread. I don't really agree with the Chris Smoove video though. The last rotation I think actually was the correct one, and the others I think were mostly caused by him not being on the same page as his teammates in terms of pick and roll defense. For example, he switches the first one, but I'm guessing Boston does not switch pick and rolls. So the AI just thinks he's out of position.

The FUNDAMENTAL issue with 2k17's AI Defense
I am hoping that they can tune the ACE system to alleviate some of the help defense. I thought I heard OG say they can continuously add things to the system and refine it from what is occurring in the league. I am holding out hope that they can do some pseudo updates and fix some things rather than waiting for a big patch that may take a month.

Re: The FUNDAMENTAL issue with 2k17's AI Defense
Here is some ugly viewing. Helping off Redick one pass away. HOF difficulty, KCP defending. I assume his defensive awareness is in the 70s or 80s. And this happened a few times.
The obvious rotation was Drummond with Harris helping the helper. Pierce would be open in the corner but that's 2 passes away.
That AI was terrible.

Re: The FUNDAMENTAL issue with 2k17's AI Defense
Here is one last video illustrating the many issues that plague the game in a 30 second span. https://account.xbox.com/en-us/gamec...1-84b716515bf0
First you see me making substitutions in the start menu option because your subs don't work during timeouts and the option to sub at the beginning of quarters disappears in 0.43 seconds. Then you see me manually changing my POE (I do this every possession) because it'll always go back to auto every change of possession. Then we see Shrempf just standing under the basket like an idiot while Mirotic cuts to the corner for what could have been a wide open 3. For some reason Mirotic decides to cut to the basket for an easy layup instead. I recognize this and manually switch to Towns to defend the cut, leaving Lopez alone at the 3 point line. Lopez illegal screens/drags my PG out of the play, but it's Wade who's left open and he's not a 3 point threat. I stay on Lopez with Towns so the AI doesn't get an easy layup over a guard under the rim, and Shrempf finally decides to move, thinking Wade is a shooter leaving Mirotic again open in the corner for a 3.
This is how it's like pretty much every possession, I have to micromanage everything. They better be getting ready to release the patch of the decade next month cause I can;t take no more of this."If you ain't dead, you're alive" - Javale McGeeComment

Re: The FUNDAMENTAL issue with 2k17's AI Defense
Some of this is horrendous. Trapping on the perimeter, one pass away with slow, no and/or odd rotations has to be addressed asap.
But in slight defense of 2K, the game doesn't adapt well to you contradicting your settings. So if you're set to go under a screen and go over, the AI responds like you're out of position. This needs to be addressed to since you won't always know the settings, having them on auto, for example.Shout out to The Watcher! Where you at bruh?Comment
