I think the tweak should be on FG% and not in what is considered contested as Beluba explained. Actually I liked what was considered an open shot out of the box as it was rewarding good spacing and punishing bad d. I thought it was an improvement vs 2k16.

My problem is that almost all open shots went in.
Combined with what was considered open it created a huge issue. But even now a 70 standing shot 3 player has more than 50% knocking it down when wide open.

The difficulty though is to have a shot considered open

Of course this tweak especially online has changed all gameplay and instead of a 3 pt parade as out of the box, combined with bad post defense, the online gamers now spam passes in the paint.

Yes after all that speed changes post patch the game started to feel like 2k16 with super fast recovery contest again. This all related to each other! Game pre-patch didnt have that super fast recovery defense i hate it. It makes defense not a chess but a cheese fest! ( ı'm someone who brags about my defense i don't want anything to give me irrational power on my def side, i want to make chess like decisions, i had this when i had the game out of the box now i don't bcs of super bullet passes and general game speed increase.

Each had its own side-effects which turned the game into 2k16 v2. I don't mean to disrespect or bash i love the game and passionate about it being a chess like basketball game. Natural movement, natural speed, good/bad decisions with right consequences thats all i want we had in the first place..

I don't know if it was the patch or tuning update today, but I feel the shot stick became insane sensitive. I used to almost always get 5 degrees and lower left or right of perfect. Now I'm seeing 11-15 and I haven't changed the way I play or anything. I decided to go back to button shooting unfortunately because of this.

Anyone else missing wide open three's at the park? I'm using Russell Westbrook's release, my archetype is sharpshooter and my three's are maxed. Last night playing the park I shot like 2 for 12 from three. Majority of them were open three's and not anywhere near half court. I never shot this bad.

Unless there's been a mention by Beluba etc that something has been tuned, people need to accept that sometimes you just might be lagging, having a bad night with timing, etc etc etc.

I know it's hard to believe but your timing is likely not perfect every single time on jump shots.

Most of the UPDATE REQUIRED messages that pop up are adding in cards to MyTeam, shoes, etc, not messing with the damn shooting sliders.

Bro it's been addressed by Mike Wang aka Beluba.

yes, he had posted that in here in this very thread page 28

I think though that noleafclover is talking about everyone who believes multiple tweaks have been applied
Mike has confirmed one shooting tweak and the driving badge tweak.

              No further

I know, it happened - once. But people post EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. that "omg did someone at 2K mess with the shooting this morning/last night/while I was taking a dump?!"

                It gets REALLY old.

Nerf ? What if it was wrong in the first sense? This way of thinking is literally corrupted to my understanding.

Beluba please don't ignore the constructive crticism feedback about :messed up open contested shots (Deadeye),cpu sticky defense with mirror sensense, and of course the sloppy defense with unreal fast recovery ect... Now its so bad that we can't determine the difference between Kawi and the averrage player on defense because they all have the super deion God like physic abillities.I been a loyal 2k customer to a fault but even i can't accept this,if this don't get cleaned up i might skip out next just on principal and self respect as loyal customer. The whole team not just B. Needs to get called out but i will reserve judgment and check out the future patches i want to get out this bad dream and respect my favorite sports company again but for right now next year is definintly a wait and see aproach.

Feel free to tell me what nba player consistently hits those shots with the defender that close - unless it's a closeout. Only curry at a high %. You should not be curry. He is unique. An exception. But hey it's all perspective. It's not a bad look - but not a great one either I would say. If it's a closeout it should be money. It is still a very bad grade though - should be at least around C+ or - B.

That was a late closeout situation. Trust me, I've seen the badge activate at those exact same distances on many occasions. Once you're at the apex of your shot, if the defender isn't on top of you, anytime they have to cover distance to reach you, that is considered a late closeout and the Deadeye badge activates. And this isn't 'a Curry' shot. Hell, if you gave LEBRON that type of room, he can make you pay.

I wish I had taken the picture once I released the shot, because the defender did one of those lazy contests where he slowly raises his hand for a brief second before turning to run in for a rebound. Again, lazy defense being rewarded as if he was breathing down my jersey. Prior to the tuning and every other 2k to date, this would result in about a B to a B+ rating if not greened. Not a 'great' shot, but a 'good' shot. This now is considered a D+. Light contest vs heavily smothered. This is not a 'heavily smothered' shot.

At the community where I come from we are having right now 35-42 %, even with a lot of open shots. Before the patch we were having 50-60%. I think that an in between would be perfect

                            My shot sliders (both User/CPU) is 40 Inside, 40 Close, 45 Midrange, 40 3PT, 46 Layup. Works wonders. 38-45%

Then again, it's how we play the game, everyone plays differently.

There's just been the one tuning update from that link so far. But just a heads up, I'm posting another update late tonight (early tomorrow morning) that contains a temporary band-aid solution for those who are struggling with the shot meter glitch. It basically nerfs the penalties (which are pretty extreme) for getting very late releases on Superstar level. I'll undo this change as soon as everyone has patch 1.04.

Do you think Patch 4 can hit a "in-between" in terms of makes/misses for Sharpshooters from before Patch 3 and after Patch 3... seems like finding the sweet spot between the two would be the most effective. If not, then maybe just take another look at how shooters are being penalized for late defense/contested shots. I personally think the game weighs too heavily on contested shots right now when the shots aren't really being that contested.. if that makes any sense
