Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
As of just "now" in this time "period" please consider i played 2 games. One Offline HOF Spurs vs Cavaliers another PNO Wolves vs Wolves.
I may be making things up or my mind is making me dream stuff yet i think that i see passing back to default out of the box speed now or at least slower. Again i may be making things up now. And i've seen gamespeed and player speed differentiation better again and a lot more pass interception bcs of wrong angle passing which should! So i don't know... Just speculating now..Comment

NBA 2K17 Impressions Thread
I'm 2k all day and Simnation forever, so it really breaks my heart to say this:
I'm leaning towards being done with this year's game. I love basketball and there are a lot of things I love about 2k17, but there are more things that I hate. I was very open on the show with the Czar regarding how much I hated 2k15. In some ways, 2k17 is uglier.
The warping, sliding, speed boosts, terrible AI on both sides of the ball, loose ball magnetism by the opponent AI(which is really comical in ProAM), loose ball obliviousness by your teammates, a lack of control...It all just makes me feel like this game sucks. And I'm dominating. I just played against Kawhi Leonard and was disgusted by all of his warping and cheating. I still made him go cold by blocking his shot, stealing from him, contesting shots and I shot 70% against him and we won by 20.
It's not about winning and losing. It's about control and honest, balanced gameplay, which 2k17 struggled with out of the box and seems to be getting worse with passes. We asked, (in my case specifically), to have the absurd balloon pass taken out of the game. That's it. That one, really slow, obviously wrong pass. What happens? Now we have several bullet passes that are impossible to react to(literally, because ball travel speed-input latency+animation startup=2k PLS!).
I know this wasn't on purpose. I know they're all working hard. I know their schedule was unfairly(and unwisely) shortened. Thing is, I don't believe that this can all be fixed with the devs quietly reading some of our posts and then bunkering up and patching things. I think they need stronger engagement with the community so that we can specify exactly what the good, knowledgable players feel will result in better game balance across all modes.
This isn't about what I'll do, because who cares and frankly my editors decide how much I can draw comics and how much I can game and I'm good with that. This is about honesty and letting the folks at 2k know that in my opinion, this isn't good enough. The defense isn't doing some things that hardcore players are nitpicking on, they're doing absurd things that anyone who's ever heard of basketball would laugh at. When that's the situation, you've gotta engage your community so we can all work towards getting the beautiful game that could be 2k17 out from behind the terrorist exploit fest holding it hostage.
Unless either something urgent pops up or we start up the new season of SimHangout, I'm done with the boards. I got a lotta work to do and there are a lot of games I've been ignoring while drawing ROMULUS and my Marvel work.
I genuinely hope things get better, but unless the devs start engaging the community more, these boards are just going to be thread after thread of complaints and deservedly so. I can't be around here for that.

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
I'm playing Orlando right now, who has exceeded 90 FGA. This isn't too bad, since Orlando did average 86.8 FGA per game last season - but the point is, it's still too high.
By the way, Orlando/Philadelphia are both shooting 46%. Orlando is a 45.5% shooting team. So far, so good.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
From a positive perspective - the main problems are identified - now they need to fix those. If new ones are created - I doubt they will be as game breaking as some of the problems like double team galore. Let's not act like games don't eventually get fixed lol. I for one am still enjoying it a lot - mostly speaking for those who aren't. Eitherway this was expected - every year the game has problems at launch. Let's just hope the problems decrease. Let's be positive lol.

For example, I'm mainly a PNO player, and I'm very active in the thread dedicated to that mode. I understand that mode the best, and I can discuss the pro and cons comfortably. I lurk in the other threads, but the ongoing discussions give me a very good idea of how the mode plays if I ever decide to jump into them full time.
The way that the some threads are evolving, the dev team could literally assign a person to each thread to keep track of the feedback for each mode.Last edited by ksuttonjr76; 10-03-2016, 02:07 PM.Comment

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
Has anyone else seen the points in the paint by the CPU jump up an incredible amount since the latest update?
Before the update they were getting anywhere from 30 to 45, but now it's in the 50's and 60's every game it seems like. I just had a game in my MyLeague where the CPU had 74!!!
They're constantly just throwing passes into the paint and I feel helpless to stop them.Comment

12 min hof game vs the cpu. The cheap paint buckets and offensive borads that lead to put backs are irritating, but the shot attempts and pace arent always bad.Attached FilesPsn: Alabamarob

Re: Post patch sliders and shooting %
From my perspective the amount of shots taken here is as normal as it can get in Nba.
Because you can't just look at fga isolated out of the games stats. Check foul shots taken, it's pretty low so yes that's one of the reasones you think fga is high but actually it's not.
Check other stats as well such as blocks, steals, turnovers. In order to fully understand you need to see the big picture and thar's why the fga seems pretty good here.

Post patch sliders and shooting %
So is this why the shooting got patched across all modes? Can the devs not tune the shooting to different modes?
Not to be rude all I'm seeing is stuff about CPU's shooting % but why did park/PROAM has to suffer so the AI can play a real game..?
I can't even hit open shots on Susperstar with shooters on Play Now.
