See I thought 2K16 was worse. I was a center in pro am, and the delay was unreal. I'd jump for a block or rebound, and by the time my player jumped, my team had the ball already and I'm there looking like an idiot with my hand in the air. That and 16 some of those animations were really clunky. But I don't know, maybe that's just me.

Re: Why did you stop playing 2K17?
The suction and warping of CPU defenders when trying to dribble drive was a real gamebreaker for me. Unfortunately, it's been this way the last 2 years. They need to open up the gameplay and make it more free-flowing and organic.Comment

Re: Why did you stop playing 2K17?
I stopped because we're close to launch. But I may do some legends games here and there until 2k18.

Re: Why did you stop playing 2K17?
All of this, plus managing 30 team control in MyLeague to take over all FA decisions year round for all teams took as much time as creating the draft classes (which as you say takes a ton of time). Lack of variety in player models also got me bored. Oh and I kept having to make up for the lack of balance in progression and training functions to manually go through the league every year to keep a goo talent distribution, from VOR 90+ down to high 60's.
It just tired me out. It became a lot of work to try to have some play. Then when gameplay was so flawed, defensive settings never working or even explained. . . it just became not fun.
In the end it was not one thing that did it. It was just. . . everything piling up.Comment

Re: Why did you stop playing 2K17?
Poor servers, sluggish movement, unresponsive controls, terrible A.I., corny storylines, limited create-a-player options, garbage lighting, & immersion killer player models (Awful body types)
Overall, the game was just a huge eyesore and headacheLast edited by Harrypotheadd; 07-29-2017, 06:28 PM.Comment

Re: Why did you stop playing 2K17?
Basically everything that everyone else has said previously. This game was a very well rounded game in every aspect but the most important, and that's gameplay. This game played so poorly that it was impossible to immerse myself into the virtual reality I was trying to be a part of.Check me out: https://goo.gl/N8vDdZComment

Re: Why did you stop playing 2K17?
My original post was a specific defensive issue. I've seen quite a few great posts since.
But the ones specifically mentioning defensive issues (sluggish movement, AI) just catch my eye that little bit more.
Out the box the defensive AI was soooo broken that Smoove released a very strong video that was hard to disagree with.
Hoping OG and his boys have been grinding/polishing so 2K18 is cleaned up from the outset.
I think 2K18 is looking good from the pics I've seen. Really hoping it is playable for the year or it would be a monumental waste.Comment

Why did you stop playing 2K17?
Control. Sometimes I felt like I was in mud, sometimes on skates, always being bumped and pushed to places I never wanted to go. I'm a long time 2K player and control has never been 2K's strong point, this year it either got much worse or I just got fatigued by it all.
+ load times, this game got stuck on the start screen for me so many times I just decided to spend my time elsewhere.

Defense not getting back in transition. Defense leaving their man open. Sluggish controls, the forced momentum comebacks to try and keep games close.Comment

Re: Why did you stop playing 2K17?
the game stopped being fun..
- i fought it all year long but this years game felt like a slap in the face and step backwards
- pro am atmosphere was way better on 2k16.
- too many patches, having to relaern the game every patch
- 2k's need to try to make up for folks terrible sticks skills or lack of basketball iq, when "separation by stick skills" was one of their main selling points
- i felt lied to this year. its marketing, i get it. but something about this years game just doesnt sit well with me
- pay to play model got old for me.
what i LOVED about this years game
- archatype systems
- facescan actually worked (kinda)
- gameplay on release date
didnt feel right without at least adding what i liked about this year, even though im making the switch to live on 18.Comment

Re: Why did you stop playing 2K17?
Though I haven't stop YET ... the defensive rotations are completely broken.
No matter what settings I tinker, on/off ball set to deny/suffocate, full-court press, go over screens, you name it, my A.I defenders will more than likely sag off the opponent's best outside threat.
Not to mention the amount of cheap buckets the CPU scores on me purely because of lazy transition defense, or after a free throw attempt. The CPU's center will simply stroll down to the other side with NOBODY picking him up.
Also, when you try to dribbling for too long or try to pass inside, there's a high chance it will result in a turnover. BUT when the CPU does this, my A.I defenders are too slow to react, thus resulting in an easy basket. More often than not, it seems the bigs (your A.I teammate) are always the weak link.Comment
