    4. 3rd defender (Parsons) now rotating to cause you to consider a new strategy

And then the worse the coach, the longer this adjustment takes to happen. And further to this, the worse the personnel, the longer it takes for the players to actually execute it.
I agree. Although I think the best teams would already be ready a 3rd guy and wouldnt wait for shots to be hit.

Scott didn't mention the 'artificial stupidity' that Mike discussed. Would Jamal Crawford be programmed to miss a rotation that Kawhi Leonard would make? And how often?

Man, programming this would be hard.

We do not adjust based on specific defensive adjustments like you asked.

When in our pnr module we have been lifting the weak-side wing for a couple years now.

Every pnr play does not hand-off to the module. But manual pnr's always use the module. It also depends on the ball position. so we wait to lift him until the ball is in a specific location for spacing.

Between that and our opportunistic Ai this may already be well covered. If we discover that the defensive adjustments are so strong that what we have currently is ineffective then that would be something we would look at and design around in 2K19.

I don't think we added any but I can't be certain. As far as I know the list is the same.

We fixed that in the final game-play patch last year.

RED = is where I usually see the NBA2k defender and NBA2k offensive player position (so very close to the baseline)

BLUE = is where I think they should be (further away from the baseline).

People complain about our spacing every year. If I move the offense closer together it will definitely NOT improve the spacing. That is one of those things where until other things improve it is better for the game to diverage from what you see on T.V.

In real life you don't have someone setting all defensive settings to deny and tight. we need every bit of real-estate we have available.

50/50 ball AI has felt like 90-10 ball in favour of the offense for around 3 years straight to the point it's better just to do "hands up" contests rather than actually try to block a shot.

Also, do you guys have any example footage of this year's AI defending the 5-Out offensive set? It was pretty gamebreaking last year as the AI would get confused on the pick and then pretty much ALWAYS leave a shooter open regardless of manual defensive settings.

It's especially exacerbated in game modes like MyTeam where people can run 5 x players all with 90+ 3 point shooting ratings, to the point where most games were spent yelling at the screen as the AI got confused trying to guard 5-Out.

Lastly, in terms of AI: have Pro Am AI defenders been tweaked so as not to HUGELY sag off Sharpshooter human players and let them drain wide open 3 after wide open 3?

                      Would love to know, thanks.

You may be touching on this in your blog, but it looks like strides have been made on post up spacing....like teamates are much more aware that some one is posting and clear out accordingly...

Haven't read through the 300 comments so apologies if these two things were mentioned already:

                            1) Is that a new Lakers practice jersey that Jordan Clarkson has on in his screenshot? Looks cool
                            2) The system proficiency is a great addition. However, one thing I want to know is if coaches systems, tendencies, ratings, etc  will be updated during the season. As well as players system fits. As a Sixers fan, our team is such an unknown and I can definitely see some of our players possibly not being represented accurately after we see how the team plays in real life. I also think Brett Brown's rating should go up and his style might change a little with new talent but we'll wait to see what happens of course. So basically my question is if there is new information that would affect system proficiency will that be updated in the game?

I'm a little confused, let's see if you can help me.

For online matches, what happens if you turn off ACE? Does this hurt the defensive AI of players or just makes them all act the same way when defending all kind of players?

It's my favorite time of the year. Blogs like this and what I live for. Give me all the trailers and teasers that you want, but when you give me a meaty blog to sink my teeth into, it really gets the hype train moving.

                                A few questions

                                - when gapping and anticipating giving help is there an animation that replicates the back and forth shuffling between the paint and his boundaries went on 2.9 responsibilities players do?

                                - the Spurs have a tactic that they employ on pick-and-rolls where the person that goes over the screen Trails into the passing Lane of the Rolling big, as the defending big catch hedges. Has that been included in the game?

                                - what is the tangible consequences for playing a player in a system that doesn't compliment him. We see the results in the NBA but how does that Translate to the game with the controller is in a user's hand?

                                - historically in 2K offense of players have been able to stroll into the restricted area and receive a rifle pass. What specifically was done to improve the positioning of Defenders on the interior, and does this make 'duck -In' s much more important?
