I was giving Collins ~15mins and Vonleh ~10mins per game. At the player progression point in the offseason Vonleh had no change in his ratings (fair enough considering his potential is only 75) but Collins actually went backwards in Playmaking from D to D- with no other visible changes to his rating.. He has a potential of 85 on my roster so I don't really understand.

The in season training seems to have no effect for me either.. no ratings ever seem to change.

It depends on if that player fits the system. If he doesn’t then he will not develop. I usually put player profession sliders at 65 so they actually develop. I even created a player and watched him go from 65 overall to almost 76 in one season. I was trying to figure this out as well until I used a simmed my league to test the sliders and they are just the same now that I’m actually playing the season. Some players develop and some don’t, only if they fit the system is what matters it seems if u want them to develop. U could also try checking what is vonleh’s potential rating is. That’s also a factor too.

It kind of seems like if you turn up player progression, every player is at a 80 plus overall within a few seasons

If you ask me that’s realistic because some players develop faster. Again like I said if they fit the system, they will develop. In the rosters it shows if whether or not they fit the system by how many stars the players have next to the system fit option. I’ve noticed that most vets are always a good fit for any system in 2k for some reason lol. I noticed it during the office season whenever I’m signing players. Leaving the sliders at 50 for player progression makes the players progress very slowly imo. That’s why I have them at 65 and the development rate seems more realistic but I could be wrong.

I'm just very curious to know what the simworld team uses. They at least test, which is more than I can say for 2k.

Does editing coaching badges have any use? Since the badges are not part of MyLeague and MyGM doesn't use custom rosters?

I've always wondered if players have hidden system ratings that would boost their system proficiency in conjunction with a system proficiency formula.

They should be developing or so you would think, anyone have any idea why this keeps happening?
I'm not clear why that happens either. Do the ratings go back up in the off-season, I embarrassingly don't recall.

Start now bug is still not fixed. Non recorded stats for Kuzma, Bell, Theis, Ojeyele to name a few. Clearly nba 2k doesn't care about a game mode that I wish all sports games had.

Hah no worries dude. As for my sliders, right now I've been rocking with default Superstar, though I've been contemplating a bump either up to Hall of Fame or going through some options here since I feel like I've been getting a pretty good grip of how to beat the CPU late in 4th quarter games. Never want the game to get too easy and my team isn't good enough to the point where they should be consistently winning games down the stretch. If you got any good recommendations I'd love to hear them.

Are you able to move to seattle at the end of the 1st season in mygm? I always end up staying put and never get a chance to relocate is there a way to move to seattle?

“CULTURE” an inside look at the Miami Heat..

It’s December 18, 2017. Coach Spolestra and the Miami Heat find themselves in the midst of a three game losing streak, 3-7 in the last 10 games, and sitting at 13-16 on the year. “Those were grueling, gut wrenching losses. Especially the last one against the Clippers. To have the ball, down one, 7 seconds left and to settle for a deep three instead of attacking the basket is... it leaves a bad taste, let’s say that.” Over the brutal three game stretch, Miami saw 4th quarter leads slip away against Portland (102-95), Charlotte (106-103), and the Clippers (104-103).

And that’s the type of year it’s been for the Heat, one mired by inconsistency, frustration and of course several ill advised trips to Waiters Island. We love his confidence and hunger, but better decisions and habits need to be made ” Spolestra said of Dion Waiters, but also stressed the need for his team to remain settled and poised in critical late game moments. “It just boils down to decision making and hitting the looks when I get em, we’ll be alright,” said Waiters.

Miami has shown flashes of greatness this year at times, led by Goran Dragic (17.6 ppg, 4.6 apg) and Hassan Whiteside (15.5 ppg, 13.6 rpg 1.6 blk) and are still poised for a run. They head into the holidays with road matchups against Atlanta and Boston, then come back home for four straight against Dallas, New Orleans, Orlando and Brooklyn. All should be easy wins, especially for a team only three years removed from its last NBA Finals appearance. But as of right now nothing has come easy at all for the South Beach Heatles. Just ask Hassan Whiteside, “It’s a grind man, it’s a grind. You just try not to get too low or too high. Just take it a game at a time,” And that’s all the Heat can do at the moment, as they look to find that spark that ignited them to a 30-11 run last season.

Now we take a look Around The Association for news, stats and rumor mill chatter!

Through the first 30 games of the season, contenders are emerging from the pretenders and team are starting to find out exactly who they are, or, who they are not. Houston (27-4) and Boston (27-8) are setting the tone of their conferences, although anything can happen between now and April.
All Star Game voting has begun and King James leads all vote getters with 2.4 million votes, James Harden is second with over 1.8 million fan votes. For the Heat, Goran Dragic is 7th in the crowded backcourt category.
Ben Simmons was named East Rookie of the Month of November along with Lonzo Ball out West. LeBron and Harden took home the Player of the Month honors for their success in the season’s first full month. As we move towards January, December’s announcement is coming soon.
The NBA’s resigning period has begun and extensions are being signed, the most notable coming out of Houston as Chris Bosh signed with the Rockets via free agency. The two time NBA champion was medically cleared by the league and Bosh signed the 1yr/$5.76M deal. Tony Parker resigned for two more years in San Antonio.

And that’ll do it for Around The Association as we return to our feature presentation, “CULTURE”

                              January 9th, 2018

Welcome To CULTURE ladies and gentlemen, I’m your host Jihad Michael, thanks for tuning in.
We’ve got plenty of show for you today as we are now into January and Miami has been on a tear, winning 9 of the last 10 and putting themselves in firm playoff position. As it stands right now, Miami is in the 6th seed but like any perineal playoff contender, they have their sights set higher. “We know what’s at stake this time in the season. The team comes together and if we keep playing Miami Heat basketball we can stay in the hunt for the playoffs,” said Miami’s floor general and captain Goran Dragic. “We been able to play some teams and come back with the win so just trying stay on track and get the wins we’re supposed to.

Miami over the past 10 games, we’ve seen victories against Boston (112-99), Dallas (105-81), New Orleans (108-93) and a signature win against conference foe Detroit (106-95). Though the only above .500 team they’ve beaten recently is Boston, the Heat are encouraged by recent happenings on the court. “You always wanna beat Boston, no matter what time of year, and coming away with wins against them are always that measuring stick that folks speak of,” said guard/forward Rodney McGruder.

The holidays brought good tiding to South Beach and restored Miami’s winning ways, led by Hassan Whiteside (22.2 ppg, 15.3 rpg, 2.4 apg, 1.7 bpg, on 67% from the field), who also was named Player of the Week this month. And while Hassan (860,392) and Dragic (905,183) have made the All Star ballot, in 7th and 10th place, respectively, James Johnson and JRich have been campaigning on Collins for there compadres. “We’re out here man, South Beach style trying to get our boys in the All-Star Game!.. sir have you voted for Whiteside and Goran?” “Whiteside/Dragic 2018!”

The fans are piling up. “We love to be out here and support our team, glad they are able to take time out and do events like this!” When asked about his teams chemistry and work in the local community, Johnson summed it down to this, saying “It’s just part of our culture here in the city and specifically on this team, we’re all dedicated to each other and want us all to be great, and same goes for 305.”

JJ has been no stranger to charity, or the latest on-court shoe. “Yeah I like shoes, so that’s kinda always been my thing on court, unfortunately I like them too much at times.” Though stylish, Johnson receives a $7,500 fine for shoes not approved by the NBA Competition Committee, but on the bright side, “the fines go to my charity for Sickle Cell research, our color is red, so my shoes usually match most nights!”

That’ll do it for this episode of CULTURE! Up next Miami heads to Toronto for the first of a back to back with the Pacers before returning to action at home against the Bucks next Sunday. Thanks for watching tune in next time for more CULTURE. We now take you Around the Association for the latest news, rumors and scores around the NBA.

Finished my first season and off season with the Utah Jazz

                                My Lineup:
                                PG: Ricky Rubio
                                SG: Donovan Mitchell
                                SF: Joe Ingles
                                PF: Derrick Favors
                                C: Rudy Gobert
Bench: Rodney Hood, Joe Johnson, Jonas Jerebko, Ekpe Udoh, Thabo Sefolosha, Raul Neto, Alec Burks

I didn't make the single change to my roster throughout the season, I was pretty satisfied with my team, style of play, players as individuals and didn't want to change anything until the off-season.

We were pretty consistent throughout the season, fighting for the one of the last playoff spots but the easier schedule made a late run in the march and april possible and we finished 6h with the 45-37 record and that brought us Minnesota Timberwolves and I felt we can play with them. We won the 1st game, lost the 2nd, but won the next two at home.

Leading 3-1, they pulled a easy win at home but we used our homecourt advantage and won the next game at home and won the series 4-2. Next round brought us Warriors and I knew our chances were pretty slim. We won the first game and surprised everybody but it looked like that only made them angrier as they won the next 4 games and we lost the series 4-1.

                                NBA Champions were Houston Rockets
MVP and Finals MVP: James Harden
                                COY: Mike D'Antoni
                                ROY: Lonzo Ball
                                6th MOY: Tyreke Evans

I made a couple of changes in the offseason. We signed Rodney Hood and Derrick Favors on pretty big contracts and I wasn't sure if I should do it but it's done and they will make a big part of our core for the next 4 seasons at least as they both signed around 20 mil/year through 4 years contract.

New Players: Mikel Bridges(18th pick), Omri Casspi
Players that left: Joe Johnson, Royce O'Neale, Thabo Sefolosha

I was really surprised when I saw Bridges was still on the board when it was my turn to pick. I think his potential is great and that he will fit really nicely.

1st pick (Chicago Bulls): Michael Porter Jr.
2nd pick (Phoenix Suns): Marvin Bagley III
3rd pick (Dallas Mavericks): Mohamed Bamba

I am building my team slowly and I don't make major changes in a hurry and i like it that way. Let's see if we can improve from the last season.
