At January in my Bulls MyLeague.


I'm clearly tanking this year to take either Porter Jr or Doncic


-Moved the Pelicans to Seattle. THE SONICS ARE BACK.


-Cut Kay Felder early on to sign Chasson Randle. Made him my starting PG..because why the heck not?!


-Signed Derrick Williams to play SF. Always liked him as a player and I'm tanking so I figure what the heck.


-Working on pulling a trade for Malachi Richardson from the Kings for Denzel Valentine and a 2nd rounder. Richardson has played two minutes all year and I'm intrigued by him as my SG of the future.


-Traded recently traded Quincy Pondexter away to the Raptors, who are running away in the Eastern Conference, for Bruno Caboclo and Lorenzo Brown. Might give Caboclo big minutes just to see what happens. I didn't care for Pondexter, he's 29, and the Raptors wanted him.


-Kicking around trades for Brandon Paul of the Spurs for Justin Holiday.


-Guys I'm wanting to trade by seasons end:
Robin Lopez
Niko Mirotic


Robin would be a great fit for the struggling Celtics who are near the bottom of the league in rebounding...just can't get the salaries to match up without taking a core piece away from them and have it make sense.


Niko I've toyed around with the idea of sending to Dallas for a deal involving Nerlens Noel. Noel would be my starting center and Niko gets a fresh start and can try to fill Dirk's shoes.


Still not sure how I'll approach Free Agency this summer. Really tempted to tank for another season to target RJ Barrett and team him and Porter together for the future.


If two seasons from now I can trot out:


LaVine
Barrett
Porter Jr.
Lauri
Noel


as a starting 5 in some combination that would be ideal. Not sure who will be there in free agency though.

I like the Pondexter trade for you, not so much for Toronto (as a Raps fan) because I believe in Caboclo! Let me know if you come up with anything for Mirotic, the obvious deal I came up with too was a straight Noel swap, tough with his contract to move him anywhere else.

I know this has been a gripe for some people elsewhere but I'm wondering if anyone has some tips or tricks to avoid the absurd simulated results. I'm in year two of my league where I only control one team and the Pistons are 1st in the east! They don't really have any stars, Andre Drummond is their best player.

I understand upsets happen and teams can get hot but if I end up meeting Detroit in the playoffs I'll (probably) smoke them 4-0 and its not realistic.

I don't want to open a discussion of how 2K18 sucks and we shouldn't waste our money on it blah blah blah. Just tryin to see if anyone has ideas for avoiding this. Thanks!

edit: like I said year two of MyLeague, somewhere in Feb or March so not an early season anomaly.

Georgiafan mentioned a Mirotic to Portland deal in the trade discussion thread. Makes some sense.

For Mirotic I traded him to Blazers and had the Bulls take on 2 bad contracts and in return get two 1st round picks.

Noel for Mirotic makes A LOT of sense to me so it's tough to remove myself from that idea. I'd love the extra picks from the Blazers though.....

How does Okafor and nerlens Noel develop on the game? I like Okafor being a traditional low post center and putting shooters around him or having Noel being like Tyson Chandler when he was with the hornets and being defense and a roller in the pick and roll game.

youre playing with 2k roster and vanilla hof sliders?

i also started myleague with the jazz today and i'm not totally satisfied with the outcome. i'm 3-0 winning every game with a 15 plus points differential. it shouldn't be so easy against the nuggets, twolves and thunder. nobodoy can score on me. i'm holding opponents down to 33% shooting.

As I wrote, I play on default HOF sliders with 2k's latest roster. It seems to me these are most challenging, i just lost a close game to the Sixers

How does Okafor and nerlens Noel develop on the game? I like Okafor being a traditional low post center and putting shooters around him or having Noel being like Tyson Chandler when he was with the hornets and being defense and a roller in the pick and roll game.

I haven't got to the offseason yet, but it looks like Okafor is going to develop well. As I mentioned in the trade thread Embiid went down with a season ending injury around the all star break for me. I had Okafor playing around 19 min before and around 28ish after. He has went up 2 overalls from 73 to 75 (base rating no chemistry boost) and this is with him averaging realistic stats (around 12 and 6). I may run a test offseason now and report back how much he goes up since is the hot button topic.

My experience is that too much trades in the first few seasons can lead to some ridiculous simulation results. Meanwhile, I didn't figure out a perfect solution but the current Celtics roster is always underestimated. My approach to improving is modifying the players' tendencies to make the team work better.

By the way, the Pistons team is almost the 1st place right now in real life so your simulation maybe not too bad.

Okafor can be gradually developed to an 80 rating center. He is much better in the game than his real-life performance. Actually, I disagree to categorize him as a traditional center because of his lack of rebound ability. Is there any good center in the 80s or 90s, even back to the 70s, has so bad motivation of rebounding as him?

Well, in terms of in game players i always get Thon maker he’ll develop into 82-83 and get like 13-9 for me. Find a custom draft class that includes Tacko Fall, 7’6 and 300 pounds. Low rating but he plays so much higher than his rating shows. First game with him he had 13 pts 14 rbnds 7 assists 5 blocks! Lol.

I might have to give it a try. I am currently at 7-0... every game feels the same, no matter who I play against.

With custom roster and sliders from this board.

I always have trade override on for this reason. I've cut back on rejecting any "unrealistic 2K trades" since Kyrie to the Celtics and PG13 AND Melo to the Thunder were an unrealistic 2K trades that actually happened, but sometimes there are trades between teams where I can't come up with an conceivable reason why that would happen in real life.

Yes, it is the biggest fun to find the most "efficient" attributes in the game. Sometimes a player just has the best combination of the abilities with a low rating. Jeremy Lamb in 2k14 is an example.

In 2k18, I found Adonal Foyle is that type of player. You will see it when you play against the 2007 Warriors team in the superstar or HOF difficulty.

Jeremy lamb balled out on 2k14! I have him in my current Myleague as an expansion SuperSonics and he’s actually putting up like 14/4/3 on 45% / 38% shooting. Pretty solid if you ask me
