I found that some centers, such as DeAndre Jordan, Whiteside, are underestimated for the trade value in the market, even though they have a very high rating in the system. In the meanwhile, the trade in the draft night is always a disaster...

Starting an Xbox One Online League. Taking ACTIVE PLAYERS ONLY. Fantasy Draft with All-Time and Current Players. Hoping to get around 20-30 active players if possible. We have 4 or 5 now. Draft will not be until we have full players so no one misses out on drafting their team. Only rules are... 1. No quitting games whether your getting pummeled or not. 2. No timeouts during free throws. 3. No zone defense. (Man to man only) Anyone interested in joining message me and add me on Xbox so I can invite you to the league. My gamertag is Reckless Sins.

I'm struggling a bit, was 2-3, lost to Atlanta and the nets and it wasn't even close. then finally won the next game against the knicks, it felt like a real battle cos I really needed to win that one, love it so far.

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread

I’m having trouble on deciding what team I want to do a rebuild with on MyGM. I'm split between the Heat and the Hornets. I had been doing the heat but it felt somewhat easy since Dragic and Whiteside are easy to trade off. The Hornets seem to be a bit tougher if I choose to keep Kemba and MKG and move Howard and Batum. On top of that I can’t really decide the direction I want to go. I like getting a big man like Okafor and having a back to the basket center and surround him with shooters and a good playmaking PG but I am also a fan of trying to recreate the 7 second or less offense or even kind of like the Hornets when they had Paul, West, and Chandler. Anybody have any advice on what they’ve tried and had more fun with?

Re: Official NBA 2k18 MyLeague/MyGm Thread

Sooo I'm doing a MyLeague with the Bulls w/ free agency, trade and draft control of all the other teams as well. My plan was to for the most part simulate (I played games here and there to feel how the team and the guys are) 3 or 4 seasons until the team is a legit contender again and then start playing every game and try to win the championship. I have now started the 2020-2021 season, but let's check what has happened in the league during the last couple of years.

LeBron's NBA final streak is still going, although the Cavs lost the finals in both 2018 and 2019 until reclaiming the throne in 2020. They haven't faced Golden State in the finals though, even if Steph Curry took home the MVP title in 2018. In the 2018 finals however, Russell Westbrook led OKC to the title. The additions of Paul George and Carmelo Anthony before the season, and trading for Avery Bradley during the season helped the Thunder take home their first title.
A surprise champion emerged in 2019, when the Minnesota Timberwolves finished as the best team in the league in the regular season, and kept the ball rolling all the way to take home the first title in franchise history. The addition that seemed to help them a lot was trading for Dennis Schroeder already the year before, who blossomed with a change of scenery.
As mentioned earlier, the Cavs finally ended their losing streak in the finals in 2020 when they beat OKC. Russell Westbrook btw won league MVP in both 2019 and 2020. Btw, that Nets draft pick for the Cavs turned out to be gold, as they got DeAndre Ayton with it. He will be star in Cleveland when LeBron retires.

There has been other stuff going on also during the 3 seasons. Two teams has packed their bags and left for another city. NBA basketball returned to Seattle to start the 2018-2019 season when the Kings left Sacramento and became the Sonics. The following year, the Grizzlies left Memphis and returned to Vancouver.

Some of the bigger player moves I can remember from the top of my head are Boogie Cousins signing with the Lakers, Eric Bledsoe being traded to Denver, Khris Middleton going to Dallas while the Bucks are really going after a title now with the additions of Jordan Clarkson and LaMarcus Aldridge. Point guard became a problem for them when Malcolm Brogdon went to the Spurs. Jahlil Okafor has been through a couple of teams but has now found his place on an up and coming Nets team. Devin Booker became expendable for the Suns when they drafted Luca Doncic, so Booker now plays on a reallyreally scary 76ers team.
The most satisfying trade I've ever made happened at the start of 2019, when the Celtics traded away Gordon Hayward and Al Horford to the Jazz for Rudy Gobert and Rodney Hood. The trade was pretty much a win-win for both teams. Hayward was about to lose the starting spot to Jayson Tatum. Add Jaylon Brown to the mix as a good backup and trading away Hayward for an upgrade at other positions made sense. The Celtics had lost Marcus Smart, so they also really needed a shooting guard. Meanwhile for the Jazz, Hood had already been passed on the depth chart by Donovan Mitchell. Letting Gobert go was of course a big blow, but overall the team got better with Hayward at SF (Joe Ingles was the starter at that moment) and they anyway got a good starting C in Horford with some young talent as backups.

So back to my Bulls then. In the first season I finished with the worst record in the league, and with the first pick in the draft I picked Michael Porter. The next season was better, as I finished with the 8th worst record in the league. The following off season was absolutely perfect. I had my own draft pick + an extra pick, the Hawks 1st rounder with a top 3 protection. That pick was however going to stay in Atlanta without a little help from the lottery gods. And those gods answered, because my own pick jumped up to 3rd, dropping the Atlanta pick to 4th! Those picks turned out as Cameron Reddish and Bol Bol, who is an absolute monster in the game with his size. Then in free agency I was able to bring in Kemba Walker to shore up my horrible starting point guard situation.
So last season then, I ended up going all the way to the Eastern conference finals where I lost to the Cavs.
No big changes in the off season, and right now my team looks like this:
Point Guards Kemba Walker (89ovr) Quinn Cook (76ovr, three point specialist) Roman Markov (74ovr)
Shooting Guards Zach Lavine (83ovr) Cam Reddish (83ovr) Antonio Blakeney (75ovr)
Short Forwards Michael Porter (91ovr) Denzel Valentine (80ovr) E.J Montgomery (74ovr)
Power Forwards Lauri Markkanen (88ovr) John Collins (78ovr)
Centers Bol Bol (82ovr) Kelly Olynyk (78ovr) Thomas Bryant (75ovr)

So that's it then, a pretty long story but I'm just pretty excited to get going now, as I said in the beginning I plan on playing every single game from now on. The release of COD has slowed me a bit as I'm now splitting my time between that and 2k but anyway. I already played my first game of the season against the Nets, which I ended up winning 113-91. I only led 54-51 at the half and the game was really tight, but a really strong start to the second half helped me to victory. I try to post some updates sometimes how the season continues!

I wish 2k would just add custom rosters to MyGM & let us watch any game like a GM really does. This "story" was an epic fail. Please just give us what we want..

The story sucks and it took away the ability to start in the off-season with or without expansion. MAJOR miscalculation by devs. This and Longshot in Madden while franchise modes go basically untouched...so sad.

At this point I’d be happy if they’d separate upgrade options in MyGM so you don’t have to do a soft relocation and lose your uniforms just to add a sushi restaurant to your stadium...

So has anyone figured out how to claim a player off waivers yet?
It seems this function is Either broken or I’m doing it wrong ...

When a player is waived and a team (even If they are under the salary cap). It says: “a waived player can only be signed to the amount of his contract”, even though the amount shown is exactly that - and you cannot change it anyways.

I do 30 team control and tried to claim a waived player and couldn’t. 1 day later, the exact same team claimed that player as the CPU.

So it has to be possible somehow??!

Need a few more people for an Online League on Xbox One. The league is current players + all time players, no dupes. 7 minute quarters, superstar difficulty. We have about 20 people in the league currently. Hoping to get at least 25 before the draft. Hoping on doing the draft tonight at 7 EST. Add me and message me if your interested in joining. My gamertag is Reckless Sins.

How does everyone get around the 6th man issue with wanting more mintues/upgraded role. I am playing as the bulls in my 3rd season and have Nick Batum as my 6th man at the moment who is 31 and overall of 80. Seems like a perfect 6th man.
I am forever trading out my bench to make these pricks happy.

is there a way to turn off moral or what do you guys find makes a good 6th man/bench player that doesn't have an overall under 75.

It would be good in the signing stage or in the convo segments with the players that you can say, your role is 6th man...are you happy.

                          Cheers.

I wondered if people really drafted my scrubs with low potential like Tacko. Due to his stats and scouting report, he's nicer than he probably will be in the NBA.

Quickest fix is to not play MyGM. That issue has been around for the longest time. Switch to MyLeague, instead. Either that, or you use a custom roster and turn on the option for every single player to "Force Non Starter".

Stupid question, but how do you get Bol Bol, for instance? I'm about to start a myleague and I was wondering how draft classes work. Did you have to load a cutom file or something?

                                Thanks!
