Definitely gonna have to pump up the layup slider because the missed layups are kinda getting on my nerves... even known finishers are just flat out missing layups with minimum resistance at the rim... if myleague gets fixed and I can figure out how to iron out the missed layups and the lack of ball control this game will be damn near perfectComment

Gameplay wise 2K18 is far better imo. The movement is so much better. And one of the biggest legacy issues of basically getting stuck in animations, especially when trying to drive by a defender is extremely limited if not outright gone. 2K11 played awesome out of the box, this is another homerun similar to that imo.It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.Comment

Hope you posted simular videos and write up on the live forum as it seems to be issue with both games.I know this is an unpopular opinion, but still feel like it needs to be brought to light.
The clipping, when it's just a visual issue, can be looked past. However, when a guy does a spin move THROUGH your trap/double team, dribbling completely through your defenders chest, only to go on and hit a jumper to give the CPU team the lead... that's where I have an issue. I've seen this junk several times at integral parts of the game. People are going to say "It's a videogame, it's going to do videogame things." That's fine, but these things are only happening during the times where the CPU needs a bucket. That tells me that it's a coding thing, basket at any cost.
Call a foul on me, call a foul on them, just don't do what happened there. There's nothing more annoying than to have a good game going, for 3 or 3 1/2 quarters, to have the supercheese CPU come out in full force, basically ruining the last 40-45 minutes worth of game you've played.
Now, onto this:
This is the same crap as above, on a different level. When OG is talking about defenders making a difference, and intelligence etc making a difference, I was expecting this type of cheese to be gone. If you're locking up the CPU on defense, and they're determined to score, this bad boy rears his ugly head. All of the sudden, your teammate defenders will lose their train of thought, getting completely out of position, allowing an easy bucket. There's nothing you can do. I try to take control of the defense that's pushed out of position, and he does a little hitchy animation, still allowing the CPU to score.
More cheesy tactics:
I didn't get the first of the clip, but Taj was basically forced out of position, only to get caught up on his own teammate. I'm Wiggins, and see this, and start trying to get over to Draymond, but it will not even register that I'm furiously trying to cut off the pass. Instead, it makes me get caught on Draymond's back, and Taj allows the ball to tip his nose on the way through, lol.
This phenomenal defense by the computer is back as well:
Jimmy stutters long enough for JR to catch up from the free throw line and maul him to get the "steal". This one is whatever, it aggravates me, but I can handle it.
Defensive awareness by my teammates is awful.
It's the same thing as it's been. Its like they aren't sure how to make the CPU challenging without forcing cheesy scripted moments.
I've got a ton of examples on the PS4 hard drive right now that I just want FIXED. I'm sure I'll get flamed by other saying to deal with it, but the game has SO many resources, a huge team, these things should not be happening.
And here's why it bothers me so much. The presentation, the graphics, the MyLeague setup, the menu's and options, the editing, even the commentary, is all phenomenal. I keep coming back to it, because it's endless options, it's a graphically gorgeous game. The options within every menu is outstanding. And at times, the gameplay can make you forget that you're playing a game.
I don't play any of the Neighborhood junk, or online, etc, so I can't even comment on those things. But as a single player, franchise guy, I'm pleading for 2k to tweak the CPU so it gives me a cheese free challenge, that doesn't use the cheesy tactics to either stop me, or smart enough to score on me without resorting to cheese.
I enjoy losing as long as I"m legit outplayed. If I sit down, and don't bring my A game, i wanted to lose. This stuff above though, is not great gameplay. It's cheesy AI. This is on Superstar (one of them may have been on all star) so the "ACE" should be in full effect, and not need to result to this junk. Watching the CPU adjust it's attack based on what I"m doing on defense is awesome, when it works, but if I continually cut it off, let me get the stop. Don't force the CPU to score through unnatural means. Have the CPU secede and hold that L.
Likewise, if I'm executing, and get the step on the guy, let me go into my animation. Don't force me to go into a stutter allowing the CPU to catch up and perform some cheesy "strip" animation.
Please 2k... the game could be great if you fix/remove these things. It's NOT needed.
I'm going to be looking for sliders, roster tweaks to see if this stuff can be eliminated (and to give the players a little more weight), and I truly hope that it can. I'd love to play this for multiple seasons. I'm engrossed in the game when it's playing well. I was on a break in mycareer attempting a floater. The CPU was playing the passing lanes but mis-timed the steal attempt. Yet the CPU got an unnatural speed boost to slide right back into place to contest my floater. This is on pro difficulty . Yeah I remember why I hate playing the CPU now ..#1 Laker fan

Looking at the momentum, I felt that the ball should have gone out of bounds and perhaps off Butler's leg. No way it dropped right there for pick up.

Gameplay is great, all the bugs and stuff is making the overall experience lessened.
QoL stuff that can be improved:
1. Fatigue in quick sub menu
2. Settings don't save (at least control settings do not, I play Absolute for the pro stick and I have to change it every game)
3. No VC after PlayNow games even though it tells you you're getting VC based on the tiers
4. Unskippable cutscenes in MyPlayer
5. Inability to see how players fit into system proficiency in Pack and Play (MyTeam). Example: You pick 2 out of 5 cards, you have no idea how they fit into the system your coach runs until you draft them because you're unable to flip the cards to see their ratings, tendencies etc from the draft screen before you select a player.
6. Unable to see lineup in pack and play once you return to the pack and play menu. All thats available is the "play button". So if its been a while since you've played, you have no idea who's on your team until the game loads
7. Unable to see how many contact cards you have remaining when managing your team (MyTeam)
8. Auction filters reset everytime you back out of the filter you made. This is EXTREMELY annoying to play with compared to last year, because if you set more than one filter, press go, and there's no cards available, you have to reinput every filter again.Comment

I normally start on Pro, then go to All-Star and use sliders from there, but this year I went straight to SS from the jump. I'm also switching for Real Shot% to User Timing so it's a Double Whammy.
I'm 0-3 so far in PNO games. My first game went to OT and in OT the CPU got hot and I couldn't do anything. The second was back and forth until the last few minutes of the game, then the CPU went on an 8-0 run to get an easy win. And the third game I just got blown out. The CPU jumped out early and never looked back. They held a 15-20 point lead for most of the game and every time I would cut the game to single digits, then they would match my run and get back to a 15+ point lead. With that said nothing really felt cheesy and I was okay with each loss.
As far as the gameplay, I'm loving it so far. There's a night and day difference feel between 2K17 and 2K18. Honestly, other than some clipping I don't have any real complaints at the moment. I think with a slider tweak here and there I may have this game right where I want it and almost at default.
My only problems now are deciding which team I want to use in MyLeague and the wait on updated rosters. Although, I'm not sure if I can hold off until the regular season. Hell, I was ready to start yesterday.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

The ps4 pro..should be able to handle 60 fps..is this happening during cut scenes or actual gameplay?
ON P.C we can monitor the GPS, at 4K I get 60 GPS on every camera angle..
Has anyone else on the PS4 experienced this? Have your tried to lower the crowd detail? Sure it can be fixed via a patch..
This reminds me when Xbox one came out and couldn't get truly 1080p 60 fps..on a few titles.. they had to downstate it.
They will simply patch it..or via patch lower the crowd or some detail that will give 60 fps..
Honestly..no reason for a powerful console to have this issue.

I ranted about this when ronnie presented this at NYC 2k event..the last one...
He was saying how magical it was to buy sneakers and get your own haircut..I have never been so upset they literally showed GTA5 using basketball...
I haven't even touched my career yet..my nephew has and he's only 17 and he says the neighborhood is corny..and ruins the game.
I ranted also they should make two separate games..do the park/silly barbershop sneakers and all of that..but it shouldn't be FORCED ON SIM players..who just want to play basketball.
2k please stop trying to be something your NOT, you make the best SIM..forget the silly things focus on gameplay...
Its called MY CAREER. .why are you scripting MY OWN CAREER?
