I was having fun again with the game when the combine dropped. I know it’s due to the less strength of badges and lower shot success in that mode. Maybe it would add more replay value for the community if it was it’s on stand alone mode.

My squad , we’re so over the HOF limitless range and other badges . That would be a good idea for 2k19 for guys who like myplayer but with more of a Sim aspect.

All of this, and it gets boring using the same player over and over again.

It's just incredible to see so many people constantly bashing this game year round, trashing the players who like it and then saying it's "dead" because a few youtube people (who I've never heard of) say it is.

I mean seriously, if you dislike a game so much that you complain about it for 6 months straight, why are you even playing it and why would you ever buy it again?

At some point you just have to cut your losses and realize 2k is never going to be as hyper-realistic as some of you expect and demand. I've done this with literally every other sports game on the market outside of 2k and my life is better for it. Instead of forcing myself to sit and play a game I know is going to annoy and frustrate me, I play other games. I suggest some of you do the same.

Thing is, we've all been around long enough to know the games flaws. It is what it is. At that point you either take it or leave it. We ALL have our issues with the game. None any more or less important than the other. Put them in wish list threads and hope they are addressed.

Regardless, the game is doing as well as it ever has in sales and people playing, so it doesn't matter. Actual data trumps "YouTubers opinion that jives with mine." Actual data trumps the millionth complaint thread on OS. Seriously, the same people complaining at release are still here doing just that. Why? it's not that complaints aren't warranted or valid but at some point you gotta cut your losses.

If you loath 2K and VC and feel it has killed the game it's probably time to just drop the game and save yourself the frustration. VC isnt going anywhere. 2K heard the outcry and adjusted the prices at release for hair or something, IIRC. So they got heard. Hopefully those lessons learned carry forward. But VC and this model isn't going anywhere. 23 brought up a good point, do they play other games? Theres even another basketball game that supposedly excells online. I love NBA 2K but I've been running around with Assassin Creed Origins and Mass Effect. Just got Rise of the Tomb Raider. Freshen things up. Games are for fun. The way some of these cats talk you'd think they were being forced to play or something.

          Spoiler

That relatively small list from this week's Madden patch contains more gameplay fixes than 2K18 has gotten the entire year.

Czar stated at the beginning of the year very little gameplay changes would be made at the request of the community.

This is why empty feedback and subsequent co-signing of things like "Why do they keep touching the game?", "Why so many patches?" etc. arent really helpful...

Hopefully we can do better as a community correcting that line of thinking citing 2K18 as an example.

I can't see how that possibly slipped people's minds seeing as how they complained about 2k17 to death and threatened to not buy the game ever again.

2k17 was destroyed by patches, I remember it as a great game before many patches came out and changed it in a bad way

Against of all the negatives and nonsense stuff from youtubers(!) and all who tries to bash just for the sake of it.. i'm going to say one and only thing that the NBA2K18 game is good(gameplay speaking), have fun with it try to learn and get deep and you'll be amazed at little stuff that you can do and see!

Eh to be fair they did say that they would not mess with gameplay this year. Last year had a ton of gameplay tweaks and each update just made the game into a mess. I'm fine with the gameplay this year.

Did people really forget the mess 2k17 was? I've seen people wanting 2k17 body models and now this?

Offline game is a huge step in the right direction so i see your point.

Online game is just a failure this year.

Myteam year after year is more cheese because sliders and players cards are soo arcade that its just feels like mashing buttons and you still can win.

                      Proam and mypark

Overpowered gameplay mechanics and broken badges makes this modes repetitive because you play vs the same people all the time.

Everybody just fish for screen contact to get bost from badges or paint spam by overpowered dunking ability from bigs.

Limitles range and contested shots go in in so high % its BS.

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)

Late contest on laups matter too much.

                      Random blocks doing pumpfakes.

Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.

I thought they said tweaks as in shooting sliders and such? The community complained so much about the shooting last year that beluba kept tweaking it. The gameplay itself definitely needed some patches this year and the major flaws still exist. You can't jump to conclusion and say you're not gonna mess with gameplay prior to the online community getting their hands on the game. We all know it's been a BETA release the last 2-3 years. They gotta be open to making certain changes lol.

Aside from the controversial, back-and-forth shooting adjustments, I can't recall many negative changes to 2K17's gameplay that came post-release.

2K fixed the free throw camera angle timeout glitch in a timely manner.

They took out the perimeter post spin cheese that sharpshooters were doing to get open without using any actual dribble moves.

They corrected a bug that was causing the second move in a dribble sequence to register with a reversed input (prior to patch 6, you had to input right, right for a double crossover instead of right, left).

They made it possible for people to get illegal screens called on them in all game modes (it didn't seem possible, when the game first shipped).

They fixed a big bug in the relentless finisher badge that was preventing people with that badge from making contact layups/dunks.

They very quickly removed the glitch that was letting people upgrade all of their non-archetype badges to gold.

I'm sure I'm forgetting some other beneficial changes, but I just don't remember many reasons why people would be upset with 2K17's post-release gameplay changes aside from the shooting tuning.

Lol you must have not played online much. We were constantly battling to get 5 people in a walk on. If ANYTHING good came from the neighborhood is that the stairs are VASTLY more efficient than our my courts were. But even THIS year team pro am was region locked for 2 months!

2k HAD to patch break starter because they had 250k on the line and people STILL got kicked and had network issues in a TOURNAMENT FOR MONEY?!

AND DOES ANYONE REMEMBER PARK AFTER DARK ?????LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

this company has a HORRIBLE stigma for their online modes this generation. I don't get how we've let it get this bad?
