This is not intended as an "I told you so" post but I got ripped here by many when The Neighborhood news came out and everyone was comparing it to an open world. I could tell just by looking at the map that it was going to be a terrible idea and that it would just be a huge time waster. I understand the need for a "social hub" which is what I thought the park was for, many of the strangers I play with regularly now were guys I met in the park in 2k15.

However, they really need to find a way so you can just pick a player, join a lobby, and go into matchmaking, all from the main menu. You can do that with friends for private games and all-star team up, and hopefully, they can get us to be able do that for park/Pro-AM.

IF WE COULD SKIP CUT SCENES THEN EVERYONE COULD EXPERIMENT FREELY AND SPEND GOBBS MORE OF VC THAN THEY CURRENTLY DO BECAUSE TO EVEN CREATE A CHARACTER THERE IS LITERALLY 45 MINUTES TILL YOUR FIRST GAME, WHERE YOU PLAY A TOTAL OF 5 MINUTES TO WATCH TEN MINUTES OF CUT SCENES BEFORE AND AFTER THE NEXT GAME AND THEN YOU GET AFTER GAME INTERVIEWS AND HAVE TO RUN TO THE WALK ON FOR CUT SCENES, CHANGE YOUR CLOTHES CUT SCENE, GO TO THE PRACTICE GYM CUT SCENE AND AAAAHHHHH FRIGGIN CUT SCENES!!!!

There are alot of ads and products in those cut senses, that is the reason 2k wont let you cut them.

There are alot of ads and products in those cut senses, that is the reason 2k wont let you cut them.

Yup... People paid for those spots..... Another reason I don't play my player. I work at ad company.... The **** force down peoples throats is hilarious and sad at the same time.

I wonder if people notice during stream or you tube ads how the quality is so crisp.. But when you return to your stream or video. It's goes up and down all over the place. That's because they paid for a certain bandwidth.

makes you want to spend money to get VC, so yo don't have to wait around as much. Leaset that's what I think...

I think this is exaggerated. I agree it's a laborious pain in the arse to start off, but if only an hour is stopping you creating a new player then that's on you. I've hated every cutscene in career mode (apart from 2k17 barber shop scenes) post 2k15, and I would prefer to have a story rather than not, but I've still created my fair share of players. A story should be a story though, and not a series of infomercials, and nor should it be some goofy effort to get to MJ's golf tournament.

In 16&17 we had a player to use in college, but you weren't grinding badges and he was OP as there was an automatic skill boost (my 7'3 center could momentum cross in 16 college!).

Why would you go out of your way to post about a game you don't like?

People on this thread clearly love NBA 2K and want to enjoy It, but are upset at the decline in the series. It doesn't seem like nonsensical "bashing" to me; more disappointment and despair.

..and the game is not in decline because youtubers you follow are playing fortnite, its just you here who think so.

Who said anything about YouTubers? It's the quality of the game that's declining. I don't care about sales, exposure or whatever. VC has completely destroyed MyCareer mode and MyTeam has been destroyed by poor decision making.

What has playing other games got anything to do with anything? Why are you not allowed to have anything but a glowing opinion around here without being treated like a whining baby?!

There is absolutely no stress for me. Like I said, I haven't picked up the game since about January. And I haven't sat here on the forums complaining. I haven't used the forum since I stopped playing. I just popped in, saw this topic and gave a quite unemotional response. Unlike yours [emoji23]

I've always been fascinated by this message board and what goes on inside of it.

It's just incredible to see so many people constantly bashing this game year round, trashing the players who like it and then saying it's "dead" because a few youtube people (who I've never heard of) say it is.

I mean seriously, if you dislike a game so much that you complain about it for 6 months straight, why are you even playing it and why would you ever buy it again?

At some point you just have to cut your losses and realize 2k is never going to be as hyper-realistic as some of you expect and demand. I've done this with literally every other sports game on the market outside of 2k and my life is better for it. Instead of forcing myself to sit and play a game I know is going to annoy and frustrate me, I play other games. I suggest some of you do the same.

2. Added logic so that the Weak Box exploit manager does not trigger vs. AI-controlled opponents (penalty results in frequent pancake blocks by the offense)
3. Addressed an issue causing QBs with the Gunslinger Ability to throw touch passes instead of bullet passes
4. Addressed an issue that would occasionally prevent ball carriers from being tackled directly following a broken tackle animation
5. Addressed an issue causing defenders to occasionally give up on the play during some broken tackle animations
6. Addressed the jumping sideline catch animation that would often force players to land out of bounds
7. Added a fix to disable the 10-second runoff when the team that is winning takes a penalty with less than a minute left in the half or game
8. Added fixes to aggressive pass rush to help ensure defenders have a chance to jump offsides no matter what formation the defense comes out in (including Nickel 3-3-5)

Developer Note: The Weak Box exploit manager was introduced this year to encourage players to better match the offensive personnel on the field when trying to defend the run, especially heavy run sets with eight or more run blockers inside the tackle box. Due to a lot of valuable feedback from our players, we discovered the AI could get hit by this inadvertently which was never the intent of the exploit manager. The new logic will prevent it from occurring when playing AI opponents moving forward.

That relatively small list from this week's Madden patch contains more gameplay fixes than 2K18 has gotten the entire year.

If you enjoyed previous iterations of the game and are a passionate basketball fan, I don't see why you wouldn't want to advocate for your own wishes in terms of the games design and direction. If everyone that was frustrated with a gameplay decision last year just sold the game and never looked back, some of the changes they made to the gameplay would not have happened (the hip riding stuff this year was cited as a direct response to people being displeased with the bumping on the perimeter that has been in the game for years, same with the stuff like proam mode after the outcry after that team up mode from 2k13 was taken out).

So its important for people to complain about things they dislike so the team gets the feedback and makes changes where appropriate. The franchise isn't just for people that like everything about it

So you'd rather people never speak up about it and let them do whatever they want?

Responses like these suck. People voice a concern and "go play Live instead or something else, stop complaining" is lazy.

Nothing is ever going to be perfect. Doesn't mean you can't keep trying to make the next experience better.
