People love throwing around "dead" when talking about games nowadays and it makes me laugh. The online component may not be up to everyone's satisfaction but throwing around hyperbole relating to the whole game is short sighted and false. The majority of gamers are so lacking in self-awareness about how spoiled they are now it's ridiculous. As someone who almost exclusively plays single player there is no such thing as a dead game besides online only titles whose servers have shut down. People say the same about GTAV like it doesn't have a huge and exceptionally well crafted dynamic offline experience that I've been playing regularly since the game launched. Hell I just replayed the first 3 Syphon Filter games from the late 90s and had a blast, if the community thinks this game is dead then what are those lol

Look, 2k18 is not dead smh. This is just stemming from a culture that feels entitled to more and more and more.

Video games are what you make of them. That's just my 2 cents.

Lol you must have not played online much. We were constantly battling to get 5 people in a walk on. If ANYTHING good came from the neighborhood is that the stairs are VASTLY more efficient than our my courts were. But even THIS year team pro am was region locked for 2 months!

2k HAD to patch break starter because they had 250k on the line and people STILL got kicked and had network issues in a TOURNAMENT FOR MONEY?!

this company has a HORRIBLE stigma for their online modes this generation. I don't get how we've let it get this bad?

They really have implemented terrible ideas. They should let us easily group up from the menu like FIFA does. The amount of time wasted in 2K is so agonizing compared to FIFA

Please! No one has told anyone how they should feel about the game. It's subjective. What isn't subjective, when you look at the metrics (sales and people actually playing) is the notion that the game is "dead" just because YouTubers or you personally think so. I'm over Madden. The game is stale and boring TO ME. Still, it's like 4th in sales and people are playing it. So it's not as "bad" as I think it is. It's just not for me anymore. I respect that and the people who enjoy it. I'm not out to convince the people who like it that it's this bad thing or foment negativity around the title. I spend my time and money elsewhere. If online was as bad as you say then why are there more people playing online? Hell, you're playing it after complaining ad nausea before release. What does that say at the end of the day? Yeah, things can be better but this hyperbole is silly.

The difference between us online crowd and all the rest of you, is that seem pretty offended if people have a negative opinion about it. Sorry guys---not all of us are the type to make a thread about the success of 2k's sales while congratulating them. Seems like the same defenders got to pop up in the same threads. And what do you all have in common? None of you play the online modes the rest of us do. So why do you care so damn much if people are pissed about it?

And guess what? I can bitch all I want and still play it if I want. I stopped playing Madden and MLB for totally different reasons because I just don't care for those experiences anymore and the other, took too much of my time. Junior 2k over there keeps repeating "stop playing it then" well, there are some things people can tolerate while still voicing concern about the next version.

But hey, yall keep talking about stuff you have no experience with.

Oh and for the record, I already said most of these YouTube guys are full of hyperbole and that I don't take them seriously. I'm just baffled why there are so many people who seem so bothered by this and keep talking about things they don't have experience with.

Do you hear yourself? Lol You're not "us the online" crowd. Thats as ridiculous as me saying "us the franchise" crowd because me and the people in the franchise threads don't like something. FOH! You're a few dozen or even hundred people on OS or Twitter or Facebook out of millions of people who play online. But keep thinking you're special and aggrieved. I tell you what, you keep whining. McDonald's is the most popular burger in the world, that doesn't mean anything in regards to quality. Likewise, the quantity of people playing 2K is largely a result of the NBA's popularity being at an all time high worldwide, as well as their ever-increasing marketing budget.

Honestly I think for most of us who are frustrated the frustration stems from the fact that the game is ALMOST amazing but there are just so many bugs, legacy issues and gameplay elements that combine with their new over the top greedy VC tactics to piss people off more than usual.

If they just dedicated a year solely to fixing bugs and legacy gameplay issues while actually keeping the game updated with more regular content (no, MyTeam cards of the same player don't count as content) I'm sure a lot of the hate would die down.

Well you have NBA Live as an alternative, but I don't see you busting down the doors to play it instead.

Truth of the matter is you need to step away from the game. There is nothing else to it.

Play it or don't play it. Some of you guys complained all last year and you're back on track to complain for another year.

Haven't learned a thing in the process either because this thread started off of some toxic madness from mad people who thought they were gaming gawds and didn't get picked by any NBA teams.

That bruised ego is something. Then you have the guys who just can't let it go come in here complaining like they do in every other thread...

At some point you just move on one way or another man.

I don't give 10 cares about what a cheeser youtube community thinks because they're partially the reason for a lot of what we consider nonsense that's not even the core NBA.

When I've had MLB the last few years the community complained often about slow animations, terrible servers, etc. Guess what happened? They've at least tried addressing those problems directly. You think that happens if there wasn't a heavy volume of posts from all over about it?

Some people here actually really like basketball, playing with friends, and just want to be heard on issues. Like noleafclover said, many of us see a lot of potential in this and are just frustrated by some things that seem to get overlooked.

Coming in here to say "just stop playing!" Helps literally nobody and is a waste of your time too. Not sure what you hope to accomplish with that. Take your own advice---you say you stay out of threads in this "cesspool" because it's so toxic but you're still here [emoji848]

notice all your post, i think your fighting the wrong fight just an opinion. i really do believe if this thread titled online only it wont create too much pages and offline players will avoid this. and if you think you have opinion so is others. and people who don't play online like you said is bcoz they(me personally) tried it and its BS as far as i see it. so if you feel that your right, then so our most of offline players. just don't act as if online players are so important.all gamers are.
