Did 2k die when Candy crush came out as well? Heck I remember everybody playing it including my own mama (it was free and fun) [emoji23]
Y'all have me cracking up with this "Fortnite killing 2k"...two different games man

Re: YouTube community it’s claiming nba 2k18 is dead
I don't think it's dead. I can just understand the reasons to why people would want to play fortnite over the same 2k they've played for the last 3-4 years.
2k18 is still alive and well. Am I getting bored quicker this year? Yes. But are new rosters coming out all of the time to switch things up....absolutely.
It doesn't matter what they prefer. People have always had the choice to play other games and most of us do.
Who sits up and plays one game for 12 months without touching anything else while all of these hot games drop?
That's the problem right there, many of them are just casuals and frauds posing as some kind of hardcore gamers and they arent.
I have a minimum of 10 games right now, and at one time or another i try to get time in with them all if not beat them all.
The entire way of thinking is so lower level its not even worth starting a thread on, but it is exactly what we've known about that community from the jump.Comment

Secondly, your gaming experience is lacking badly by doing this also.
It's not that I don't know people don't do it, but I learned how many frauds there are on Youtube just last year and it opened my eyes real wide.
The basis of this thread started due to statements by fraudulent gamers.Comment

Re: YouTube community it’s claiming nba 2k18 is dead
What other devs have to deal with, how much time it took them to achieve said game, the flaws those games have, interaction with fans, etc etc
Let alone missing out on all the fun and other communities, its just too much to be boxed in one area, especially when the industry itself is growing like an oak tree.Comment

Re: YouTube community it’s claiming nba 2k18 is dead
I've played several other games. I definitely have beat my first gen PS4 to death. The disk drive don't work. I can literally only play downloaded games. And since I can't play hard copies I can't do what I used to do, which was rent a game and beat then return it. I did that almost all of my PS3 years. I only play 2k anymore. So since I play 2k less now, my PS4 is just wasting away. I wish defense would make its way back to the game and I REALLY want people to stop acting like slashers are OP because I feel their completely under powered. With no prayer of a 3 ball anyone can defend me. Whereas, truly athletic players strike fear in the hearts of everyone going against them.
If I pay 60 a year for a game, I wish it was more than a glitch fest or a 3 point contest every year. It's boring. 2k was fun when everyone was different. This year everyone was different for about a week till everyone figured out the glitches. If they never patch the glitches, everyone stays the same. That's why this game is dead. No one wants to guard sharp shooters at every position anymore.Comment

Glitchers and Cheaters only exist online and they've always been online.
Its not just 2k, its other games too, and that's the problem with acting like it only happens here.
2K changed in some ways when they decided to cater more to that online community because they're the ones that spend the most money on the game.
Also with gamers club unlocked and other things, there is no reason to be paying full price for a game you don't feel is worth full price.
Games keep coming out and you aren't playing any, that's still your own personal experience not everyone else's.Comment

Re: YouTube community it’s claiming nba 2k18 is dead
Time to get a PC and join the PUBG party, Rockie
I'm in same boat though, used to just hammer the hell out of few games, but this year is making me visit other things I've put on hold, most of that is because I just can't deal with random scrubs anymore and I don't have that much incentive to continue grindingComment

I actually enjoy 2k and probably took 1-2 months off playing DBZF and Injustice....gotta switch it up...

Re: YouTube community it’s claiming nba 2k18 is dead
people who claim 2k is dead are the same ones blaming 2k for every single dumb things they do...taking dumb shots while complaining bout how "open" they were followed by "cmon, 2k!..I got 99 3s!"...we all know a couple of those. Sure, 2k18 definitely have faults and they could improve on certain things (cmon, we've all seen those pointless cutscense by now..let us skip it.) but nothing will change the fact that 90% of players on park/pro am play with a sense of entitlement. Save some tapes of your park/proam and you might be surprised how you actually played. Good way to cut out lil mistakes here and there.
You can play different games people lol.Comment

Re: YouTube community it’s claiming nba 2k18 is dead
2. I never said that 2k is officially dead. I’m saying that more and more casuals are beginning to care less and less about 2k (due to Fortnite)
3. I’m not just spewing nonsense. Here are a few 2k YouTubers with similar sentiments
4. Whether you like it or not, Fortnite has had a huge impact on the lack of 2k18 hype. Doesn’t even matter that it’s a completely different genre. For a game like that to emerge, in a year where 2k decided to piss off a huge portion of its user base, by going overboard with the micro transactions, is the worst thing that could have possibly happened. It’s like pure karma. Fortnite literally capatilzes on everything that people (casuals especially) hate about 2k right now. It’s that simple.
5. Once again, I never said the game was completely dead. But it’s clear as day that the franchise is stagnant and people are losing interest. If you can’t acknowledge this, then you’re just extremely biased or you live somewhere under a rock lol...All you have to do is look on your Twitter TL and I guarantee you’ll barely see anyone talking about 2k or posting 2k content. It’s all about Fortnite lol...That game is helping people send a message to money hungry companies. And that’s “abandon the pay to win model or GTFOH”Comment

Re: YouTube community it’s claiming nba 2k18 is dead
Yeah I am kind of on a opposite end here, I've been repeating here how offline part of this year's game is the one I am not satisfied with, guys probably annoyed by my mentioning of CPU's bad overall defense over and over again. But I am having fun playing online, guys like to complain a lot, I'm 75 rated shot creator/defender and I am usually guarding other much higher rated shooting guards and having fun doing it, I can keep up with them more often than not, I try to play smart basketball on offense, depends on a team, but it can be quite fun. I was never much of an online gamer but since I felt like CPU isn't on my level this year I decided to try it.
I mean this 2k got a lot of issues and I hope 2k19 is going to be much better, but I think these guys complain too muchComment

If I was talking to you directly I would've quoted you. The sentiment itself is ridiculous.
Using youtubers as your analytics is even more ridiculous.
Most of us don't care what game casuals choose to play. They can play both, it doesn't have to be one against the other.
Every year these same people cry about not buying 2k the next year, and the next year comes and the game ends up doing record numbers, especially this year.
Not every gamer out there are fortnite fans... and trying to use that as some kind protest statement is head shakingComment
