Re: Simnation are y'all still around?
Interesting discussion lads, I've always felt like smoother defense cannot be properly penalized in 2k basketball when the appropriate players are involved (I am thinking on Online face to face games), but definitely we are improving in that point...
Cheers! ;-)Ignorance is Bliss...Comment

Simnation has already got some nice nuggets and we havent even heard from Czar or OG yet.Comment

Re: Simnation are y'all still around?
How would simnation feel about an official document we put to the devs prior to the beginning of every development cycle? We use a thread to compile a list of issues and suggested improvements (with accompanying video evidence).
Send it as a PDF or digital compendium. Get our own logo, elect a representative or a small team to act as our official voices. (Lorenzo? Vannwolf? 23? Bama rob? Jeebs?)
That way we will filter out the ideas that arent great and be able to present a list of 5-10 doable things that are nicely compiled and articulated.
Simnation can't compete in terms of loudness, but we can get our points across better.Comment

Re: Simnation are y'all still around?
Guys, I'm going to translate this for #simnation, to say something more directly than Czar can probably say.
I have no inside knowledge, but this most likely means that Czar and OG have lost some internal battles trying to shape the tuning of game play to be more sim, and they need us to be effective in providing an external counterweight to the online voices of arcade play.
I suggest that #simnation people be very focused and intentional in using social media and snippets of video to make their points this year, showing where the game does not look or play like basketball. Posting here is not enough - we have to use social media.
Use youtube if that's your thing, but be sure to do the following, whatever you do:
- use hashtag #simnation
- include @beluba in your post
- be constructive, not hateful or angry
- monitor the #simnation hashtag and retweet each others' posts
Our numbers don't have to be massive if we are well enough organized, loud and consistent. You know the saying about the squeaky wheel. We gotta squeak.
Just wanted to give everyone a quick shout out for this method. The offline sim crowd for Madden gathered on a thread similar to this in January of this year and developed a strategy of who, what, when, etc..... 264 post in that thread alone.
I briefly mentioned this to Vann in a PM a few months ago. The key on Twitter is to develop your idea(s) here in this thread and have people back that idea with either a like, retweet or better yet, further dialogue.
One of the things we were proud of was the fact that on 3rd and long plays in Madden, the CPU would either call 4 Verticals, all shots or draw/PA plays. So, we asked the playbook guru, Anthony White why this was occurrying. He said it was something they were looking into. We were happy it was something they were looking into and Millennium confirmed this June it was a bug that prevented the CPU to call the proper plays.
The key point is to make sure people back up your statement or you are just a lone ranger out there. I got into once with someone on Twitter just like Vann did on something that was sim in nature vs what "they" wanted. This is the type of audience we are dealing with outside of OS and they do have influence and numbers.
Good luck folks, we thought it was positive because it had some positive results. Don't get down or feel bad if a developer doesn't respond.
Edit- I forgot to mention something about Twitter to make it all work, you need to jot down in this thread your Twitter names and then make sure you follow one another. That way you will be able to give likes, retweets and responses to the idea (s) presented to the developers. One suggestion at a time will work better than a laundry list. You only have 250 words on Twitter.Last edited by roadman; 07-27-2018, 06:34 AM.Comment

Re: Simnation are y'all still around?
i'd have to see a video of the cpu reacting to your jabs and pump fakes, because i get absolutely nothing. not even the slightest shuffle on occasion. r u sure we're on the same page here, because the triple threat stance isn't a part of the post-up.Comment

Re: Simnation are y'all still around?
Additionally, the clu rarely bites on the jab step so i jab and then explode out of the triple threat for an easy drive. However, i have been able to use T. Prince and Bazemore to jab step and the defender backs up to give space for a 3 ball. Mostly out of the corner.

Re: Simnation are y'all still around?
My bad for being confusing. When i recieve the ball in the post area, i am able to faceup and use a triple threat move to get to the rim.

Re: Simnation are y'all still around?
Guys we can all agree that custom playbooks should be a thing in MyTeam, right ?
I cant be the only one here that likes to use different plays from different teams of different eras...
Why not just have it be that you unlock plays from set playbooks for use in a custom playbook ? After all MyTeam is supposed to be an all-time mix n match experience, why shouldn't that extend to plays ?Find me on YouTube/Twitch/Twitter/ QuickButNeat

since you've had some luck with those players u mentioned, maybe the cpu reactions and gap space are tied in with ratings or tendencies somehow, or some crazy mathematical variable that we have no idea about. or maybe 2k tried implementing a new system similar to that last year but couldn't finish it properly so the tt game was left hanging. who knows, sure hope it's more fine-tuned this year though.Comment

Re: Simnation are y'all still around?
thanks for clarifying. i myself haven't had any luck at all using jabs or pump fakes out of the triple threat. since driving and getting past ur man is so easy in 2k18, i really see no use for the tt moves since they don't create space for a jumpshot. now i realize that these moves shouldn't be 100% reliable to create that space, but defenders should at least shuffle their feet or 'stay on their toes' so to speak instead of just crowding u like a statue.

Re: Simnation are y'all still around?
I pulled if off within my first 60 seconds on the game. HOF settings vs. CPU. Trae vs Murry. No slider adjustment. I put it up on my twitch page also. Alabamarob
