The pass accuracy, lob city gold and break starter do it for me man. Dimer is silver on shot post i think it’s worth it to lose your HOF badges to gain your secondary’s badges on gold. I think the shot post will be a win games build


The playmaking post is the build that fits how i play like a glove.

Hopefully the difference between silver and gold dimer is noticeable tho

Thanks for the input man!

For me I'm definitely a pass-first player though so I'm mainly looking at to generate opportunities getting by people to drive and dish etc. Last year I think I was a Playmaking Shot Creator and that was OK but not great.

Tear Dropper at a high level is definitely something I love though... man they're not making it easy this year :\

Edit: just looking at Playmaker/Shot Creator and they have 5 HOF badges... just hate not having a reliable 3-ball. Shot Creator/Playmaker has more gold badges (including Tear Dropper) but no HOF badges...

Id say go with your gut and go for the playmaking shot creator then man! The 3 ball is going to be more reliable than youre expecting, i think at that height and with a shorter wingspan you could get it into the high 70s if not even low 80s - its coming in at 18 bars max for 3pt, 20 for mid, and mid 20s for all your playmaking and athleticism traits.

It seems like theyve done a good job of reflecting how the league really is today and bumping the 3pt shooting across all archetypes, so you dont need to be a sharpshooter just to be able to hit open 3s.

I really like the stats on a playmaking shot creator but no hall of fame badges kinda make it eh to me...

I'm going to find it hilarious to see all of these people jump on the Shot Creator bandwagon, yet have absolutely no idea on how to actually use them.

Just like last year, 98% of the community had no clue on how to use their Playmaking Shot Creators, and I watched fewer and fewer of them pop up as the game progressed. It'll be the same way this year with the Pure Shot Creators.

Lol facts. I wanted to make a pure shot even before we got a first glimpse of what badges we get. And now everyone wants to make one smh.


Edit: Lets see if they take the time to master the archetype. Cause im goong to try to master the in and out of it. I was great with mine this year but now i want to really master it.

Shot creators give the best balance but just having that as a build doesn't make someone good or not.

I don't mind a bunch of people picking it..as long as they don't start nerfing things.

Short MyPlayers have just been bad at passing ever since Pro Am was introduced in 2K16. And when I say short, I'm talking about heights that are 6'2" and under.

MyPlayers that short tend to get put into a lot of lengthy jump pass animations that would rarely trigger for taller ball handlers. And any time that a jump pass triggers, it's going to lead to a tip/intercept against a good Pro Am team, because those slow pass animations just give the defense too much time to read and react.

And even when you are lucky enough to get a regular chest pass or an overhead pass animation, those standard pass types are also easier for the defense to tip/intercept since the ball's starting point is closer to their hand/body level. In other words, it's a lot easier to have a tall ball handler who can simply pass the ball over defenders' heads than it is to have a small ball handler who needs to carefully thread the ball through/around defenders' hands/bodies.

The standard icon passes and directional A button/Y button passes in Pro Am are so bad on smaller PGs that you end up having to rely on bounce passes (and flashy passes, if they're any good this year; they stunk in 2K18 but were very useful in 2K16 & 2K17) just to avoid turning the ball over.

I would say make a sharpshooting shot creator for your PG and you'll get the silver playmaking badges + speedboosting + silver sharpshooting badges + HOF shot creator badges. That way you will have the attributes/badges that you need to be an outside scoring PG who can be effective while staying in the three-point/mid-range area without ever needing to go inside, where you would just be crowded by taller defenders who would make it hard for you to shoot or cleanly pass the ball through all of that hand/body traffic.

if i go 6'4 is it worth losing some athleticism by going as sharp secondary? i planned to go as a pure shot pg but my team needs some shooting.

My Hakeem build is officially ruined. 2k gave it Silver Rim Protector and Silver Defensive Stopper. Why they would do this is beyond me. A Defensive/Post Scorer may not work because the Post Scoring isn't gonna be high. If I do get the game I'm thinking a Post Scoring Stretch and Slashing Rim Protector. Slashing Rim Protector is actually a big surprise as it has Gold Rim Protector and Gold Defensive Stopper. Big surprise. I'm definitely thinking about a Dwigth build.


With that said, why the FK would 2k change this. Are there not Great Post Scorers with Great Defense in the NBA? It doesn't make sense. I wouldn't be surprised if they were on VERY HARD drugs from all that VC money

I'll say it again, sometime I think the developers don't know what they're doing
