My Hakeem build is officially ruined. 2k gave it Silver Rim Protector and Silver Defensive Stopper. Why they would do this is beyond me. A Defensive/Post Scorer may not work because the Post Scoring isn't gonna be high.

If I do get the game I'm thinking a Post Scoring Stretch and Slashing Rim Protector. Slashing Rim Protector is actually a big surprise as it has Gold Rim Protector and Gold Defensive Stopper. Big surprise. I'm definitely thinking about a Dwigth build.

Go Two Way Athletic Finisher, you're not quite as strong but you get HOF Posterizer and Lob City Finisher, Gold Defensive Stopper and Rim Protector plus other nice badges.

I'm going to find it hilarious to see all of these people jump on the Shot Creator bandwagon, yet have absolutely no idea on how to actually use them.

Just like last year, 98% of the community had no clue on how to use their Playmaking Shot Creators, and I watched fewer and fewer of them pop up as the game progressed. It'll be the same way this year with the Pure Shot Creators.

Same with pure playmakers. Dudes about to be sick.

Go Two Way Athletic Finisher, you're not quite as strong but you get HOF Posterizer and Lob City Finisher, Gold Defensive Stopper and Rim Protector plus other nice badges.

How effective is this build in the half court compared to a two way post

Yeah, but I love the Post.

Post Stretch and Slashing Rim Protector will be my builds. Not sure if I should go Defense/Slashing or Slashing/Defense. Though with gold badges a lower block rating won't be bad.

All depends on 2k. In 2k18 size didn't matter. Had 340lb dudes keeping up with my 245lb Center LMAO.

Side Note: Can anybody tell how much each block is worth? Am supposed to multiply by 4? So if I see a 23 post Scoring, would that be 92 post Scoring?

It gets Gold Brick Wall so it will be a pretty good screen setter, especially effective in a Clint Capela style role or setting off ball screens for shooters. Obviously can't shoot.

Also I've been looking at some vids and i believe the 24th and 25th upgrade bars are +4, i.e a Pure Post has 91 Post ratings at 23 bars, 95 at 24 bars and 99 at 25 bars, 91 strength at 23 bars, don't know if this holds true for stuff affected by height/weight/wingspan but if it does it means my 6'11 Two Way Athletic Finisher top out at roughly 79 Speed 82 Acceleration, 83 Vertical, 7'3 Pure Post tops out in the mid 30's.

Im pretty sure the 24th and 25th bars are +4, not sure if it applies for athleticism

Defense and post scoring are two archetypes that just don't go together very well in 2K19.

At center, you'll be a lot better off making a pure post scorer or a post scoring slasher to get silver rim protector and bronze defensive stopper while still being an absolute beast on offense.

Playmaking post its the hakeem build imo. Dimer and break starter on gold along with all the post scorer badges on gold as well.

I don’t even like playing 2k without defense in my build . Too much BS just happens .

The problem with 2k is their archetype System only allows the creation of good roleplayers.

You simply cant make superstars.
For online balancing purposes of course.

So you simply cant make hakeem etc

Super disappointed my PF Rebounding Rim Protector build from 2k18 only gets Gold Rim Protector. If I go to centre I get HOF there. Even PF Pure Rim Protector only has Gold rim protector (smh).

I think it's down to 2k not knowing how to build a proper basketball game.

Again, there are great post Scorers with great defense. Zach Randolf, Marc Gasol, and Duncan are more examples. Can't believe they changed my build

Hell I looked at Post Scoring Stretch and the 3 point shot on that don't even look like it's past 65. I had 76 in 2k18. I could be wrong, but if pure Stretches got shafted a Post Stretch don't even seem viable.
