I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.
I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

        Not easy to decide.
Last year i used a 6'10 sharpshooting slasher mainly and it was fun, he was slow but still good at everything except playmaking.

So i was all set on recreating him on 19 but those Caps and badges and no special contacts are really making me rethink.

Like all the stats and badges on a pure Shot creator but thats not really my game.
Last time i used leaners, pullups and spinshots was in 16.
On the other hand with Catch&shoot, Cornerspecialist and a verly solid Post Game, they kinda made him a solid all around player and thats suits my style. Just feeling i prolly wouldnt use him to full potential...

2 builds just caught my attention. The sg shot primary post secondary and the pf post primary shot secondary. Badges look amazing on both.

Anybody ever mess with or know anybody that played with a playmaking rebounder?

Had a buddywith one last year. He was 7'3 otherwise i think it would have been a more fun build for him. I could see this build being fun if he was shorter/quicker. I have a rebounding point forward at 6'10 but if i would have flipped it at PF i think it would be more viable. It's a fun build, just not a scorer.

A lot easier to get to the rim and can still finish just as well.

Just as good of a shooter and being able to separate myself from the defender helps.

Now the question is, do I value 2 inches of height and hall of fame badges more than speed and ball handling?

Honest to god answer, probably not. HOF badges are awesome, but gold is good too. People tend to underestimate gold badges, a lot. I know you don't, cause you've been here for a long while, but most do.

My opinion is always this, and it's how I make my decisions between Pure Slasher and Playmaking Slasher. I'm comfortable with how the Playmaking version feels, and it draws out every last ounce of skill I have. I'd be okay with a Pure, but I'd be trading the few excess skills I'd like to do well for purple badges.

To me, comfort is better because it allows me to play more on tune with my natural play style.

Couldn't agree more with all of this...I see a LOT of people here and especially reddit talking about how they're gonna change their builds this year based on badges etc...I'm like bro, the best thing you can do is make a guy that plays to YOUR strength..badges won't matter if you dont know how to use a revamped Shot creator or post scorer..me myself I'm torn between 2 builds...rebounding-rim protector or two-way slasher..in 18 I was a 6'11" slashing-rebounder but I averaged about 3 blocks per game...this year I feel like they toned my stats down a bit plus no HOF rebounding so...might switch it up..but def when I made that build it played to my strengths and I dominated...also dominated at PG with a two-way slasher...

I’m pretty comfortable on build now. I’m just bugging on height. It’s really impossible to get any kind of read on whether 7’3 is still OP in the Prelude. You really need user on user to figure that out. I’m leaning towards shorter simply because I think it would be more fun to play.

                        Everybody is talking about postscorers.
I saw a lot of post scorers in the beginning of 18 too but people quickly changed because there was no post cheese.

                        Probably the same this year

I agree with everything you said, I do think being able to comfortably get to the rim and the spots on the floor I want to go outweigh a little bit of dunking/post scoring/mid range shooting...because all of that is nice but being able to get better dribbling packages and being faster will probably help in the long run especially being a guard and needing to be a playmaker as well

And the fact that if you don't have team mates who set you up it's not going to be very effective just trying to get post position while your team drags defenders into your spot.

There's a lot of builds out here that are only good with teammates.. But then again it all depends on what modes you wanna play..

Me personally, I play it all. Park rec center pro am...so I need a player that can got 3 shots drive iso play d make plays lol it's stressful..

Post scorer tho is the worst, half the time you become a awfully rated glass cleaner unless ppl appreciate your post moves

                                - C 6'11 245 SL/RP
Slashing Rim Protector is a no go. You get a measly 69 Strength and 73 block. That's not maxed out, but you're still gonna get bullied very easily. If we go by 2k18 builds, you're getting bullied by 95% of the centers you match up against. Rebounders, Rim Protectors, and Post Scorers will all be high strength, possible worse if max weight. You'll be able to score, but good luck boxing out for the rebound and good luck trying to keep bullies out the paint. 73 block won't save you.

                                -PF 7' 245lbs PS/ST
Post Scoring Stretch is also a no go. 3 point shot is 67. Probably maxes to 70. Granted you can hit with that combined with the right jump shot, but a 70 is too much effort, not to mention the slightest hand in your face means a miss. I could be wrong, who knows.

Post Scoring shot creator definitely not gone be able to shoot 3s anymore if the PS/ST can barely shoot 3s

If we weren't role players in 2k18, we're REALLY role players in 2k19.
