I am not sure about intimidator for perimeter defenders.

Clearly depends on how many def badges you have, but probably I put clamps and tireless defender ahead.

I would prefer to stop the drive rather than contest it.

However, it's sad that you have a bunch of offensive badges for boosting jumpshots and 3s, and none defensive badge designed for contrasting them.

Nope and I wonder how you get it (playmaking/finishing pie?)

On this subject, did anyone figure out what triggers the names of the builds?

I tried different SF combinations starting from pure play pie AND play/def pie and I ALWAYS get faciltating finisher, except once I got slashing playmaker (but I'm pretty sure that when I redo the same build I got facilitating finisher).

i had it on my perimiter defender and it worked quite well on making curry and co miss shots.

basicially made the jumping contest then went down the court for an quick transition dunk.

no idea if it will work on non defending builds though.

yeah clamps is the first pick for perimiter defenders.

In my case intimidator never activated when I was contesting klay 3s, but only when defending him around the paint.

          And I got a def/play build.

According to the badge description, this badge only works when performing dribble moves?
So nut sure if this works in the post/post moves

According to its description, drop stepper also protects the ball when performing that move.

no idea about post moves in general.

Finishing and Shooting pie . Focused on maxing post attributes first.

Is it confirmed that we can redistribute our badges? If so, how often I don't know if I should Gold Rim Protector or Intimidator for a Shaq style big and no idea where to put my one and only shooting badge.

was backing down when another guy tried to swap.
not sure if i was doing a move but i saw the badge trigger which made me go for the dropstep right away to avoid the turnover.

post moves fall under playmaking like the badge and its technicially still a dribble so it should be possible lol

would be nice if we can read somewhere on when these badges trigger......

My understanding is that you earn badge points each game (along with skill points and VC). Each time you earn enough badge points to unlock your next badge upgrade in category (defensive, playmaking, shooting, slasher), you can redistribute your points there.

Stated another way, you'll need to unlock 3 defensive badge upgrades to get Gold Rim or Gold Intimidator and that's assuming you don't bronze something else first.

Looking at some C builds and found one i really like the look of, 6'10 Slasher/Athletic Finisher which gets
                          95 Standing Dunk
                          95 Shot Close/Standing Layup
                          94 Post Hook
                          92 Post Moves
                          89 Driving Dunk
                          85 Post Fade
With max wingspan gets roughly 80 Interior Defense and Block.

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

I've kicked around 3 guard builds, 3 SF builds, and 2 Center builds. They're anti-meta (or at least what's been discussed here), but i've settled on building a 6'7 SF and a 6'11 center. I don't fully remember every single design choice (and will rebuild on 2K day) but here's the gist.

SF, 6'7, 208 High playmaking (don't recall if I did the yellow or yellow/blue pie), physical profile with speed/strength. Focused playmaking and finishing, put enough points in defensive for 10 badges, and enough in shooting for 6. He's designed to be a point-forward, with all around skills.
I chose badges designed at helping my teammates prosper, so Dimer - HOF is featured.

In the demo game, he moved smoothly and finished fairly easily. Racked up a triple double in a loss. I was happy with his passing, finishing, and defense. However, I didn't really get to test his shooting, so i'm slightly worried that he won't hit catch & shoots as easily as I like, but we'll see. In the end, I may sacrifice some defensive to get the outside shot.

C, 6'11, 240. Red/blue pie, physical profile that emphatized speed. Ended up with 24 defensive badges, 16 finishing, around 12 PM, and 1 shooting. Ended up getting "Paint Beast" archetype. I was aiming for a defensive anchor, who is (slightly more than) adequate at getting the ball in the post/high post and finding a way to score (either slashing or back to the basket). Main badge is Rim Protector - HOF, but also have intimidator, defensive anchor - Gold.

In the demo, he was throwing shots all over the place and cleaning the glass.
He was also decent at beating his man and finishing (though Draymond did block me a few times). Might tweak further to get more finishing badges.

As someone already suggested, you should consider to have him as 6'7 SG.
Basically same stats, but 5/10 badge upgrades more to use.

Seems like SFs don't have any comparative advantages over other positions this year.
More height neither translates in better rebounding ratings, which I'm pretty sure did it in previous years.
