Any advice on putback dunks ?My guy is doing layups .

I have putback bronze on a PF with 88 standing dunk , 79 driving dunk . Does raising it give more dunks ?

Online, not really. I have it on gold and really only dunk when there’s zero traffic. Like no one within 5 feet of me unless they’re tiny. I rarely see 7’3 guys dunk either.

I don't know how you grinders avoid the temptation of buying VC closer to release r. Normally, I really don't jump fully into the mode until March. By then, I have a whole bunch of VC to spend due to playing PNO all the time.

You should be hitting around 70% to 80% with that rating + hot zones + HOF shooting badges.

If not, sharp just isn't the archetype for you.

I went Russell Westbrook with 2-way slashing playmaker point guard, 6'4" 190lbs. 11, 10, 20, 20 is my badge count. I green a lot of open shots, get all of the contact dunks, and the HOF defensive+playmaking badges help a ton.

Now I'm thinking of either Devin Booker or T-Mac build now, but Idk which one I want to do or which pie chart I should pick.

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

Went with 4 builds this year.

2 way slashing playmaker 6'5 PG. (My favorite you play career with, but his jumper comes and goes.)

Slasher SF 6'7. (My most dominant build, i love this guy. Same pie chart as PG)

Paint Beast PF 6'9. (Hes a savage in the paint on D, he just can't shoot and inside scoring is butt this year if you're directly under the hoop).

And finally my inside-outside facilitator 6'5 SG. 82 three, 85 driving dunk with 4 gold playmaking badges and 8 defensive badge points. I usually run Gold clamps, silver intimidator and Gold Pick Dodger. Just an absolute nightmare to deal with. I can make any shot, even a few feet behind the arc.

If i had my 80 defensive ratings and this guy could finish alley oops like my other characters, this character would eat faces. Lol

Defensively he's not all the way there, but he's really fun.

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

Telling y'all...try a smaller guard (6' or 6'1"). Finally getting my important badges, and I picked up some low dribble/crossover animations (lessen the chance of getting stripped). I'm starting to love my build in Rec especially when I pull off the Jamal Crawford layup animation against a big, lol. It's been a long time coming, but I'm finally starting to average double doubles in points and assists with the team mainly trusting me with PG duties. It's rare that I get a turnover, but the Needle Threader badge helps with that.

Oddly enough and despite being small, I can stop and/or slow down a fastbreak due my build's speed and acceleration which gives me the ability to get back on defense quickly.

Use Exum, Curry, or 38 (Silver Quick Draw) on your 2-Way Play/Slash and you'll be unstoppable. It took a minute to adjust to Gold Quick Draw but since I've got the timing down it's been lights out. 38 on Silver is pretty quick and doesn't take much time to adjust to. Players wont be able to sag after you hit 2-3 jumpers which makes things way easier for you. That 99 speed, acceleration, and Vert comes in handy when people try to play too close.

Smaller guards are slowly but surely getting more popular. That BP build (Offensive Threat) really changed things up. I'm tempted to make a 6'2-6'3 player soon. Using my 6'5 builds have become way too easy now. Maybe the shorter builds will present a bigger challenge in some way.

It's less about the jumper i use and more about comparing it to my SF which is the same pie chart. My SF is an animal. I could guard the one better with him than i could my PG. My size gives me the advantage to really affect shots. My PG is nice, don't get me wrong. But i hit well enough on my SF that i don't need the speed advantage of my guard.

My wing is 2 inches taller with less badges but I'm almost as fast with the ball or without it. I get less badges, but i have them where i need them.

Plus, it's more fun to take a Paint Beast or a Post Scorer out of the game than it is to try and get around 1,000 screens a game. Lol

I'm confused. Why do people rely on cheesy dribble animations when it seems like you can get by people at will after some practice?

they don’t care if they can get by you lol , they just wanna get ankle breakers and get enough space to shoot a three.

Oh! That easy of an answer, lol?

I must be old school minded then. I just use my dribble moves to create space, and then make my move in the created "pocket" whether it's drive to force the defense to collapse, shoot the mid-range, or pass. I'm getting to the point that I prefer that I don't receive screens from my bigs unless they know how to roll to the basket after I hit the screen. I'm basically patterning my game after Allen Iverson.
