Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
Originally posted by NoLeafCloverProblem with that is it affects those who want to play against non-AI in a decent environment. Speaking selfishly, but the most fun I've ever had in any 2K has been back when Rec Center/Pro Am was good and less cheesy (2K15 and 2K16) when people couldn't shoot 80% from 3 every game.
I play a mix of modes but the CPU always feels obviously not-human with the way it plays and can't replicate playing against other people.
If 2K would just make Park arcade and left Rec/Pro Am sim it would be fine, but the "MyPlayer modes" are always stuck together...
I remember first time I ever played 2k in Park, I was sooooooo trash. Tried hitting fadeaways all game - some dude messaged me, told me to play real basketball and to only take open shots - and it worked immediately.
While I never been a dribble gawd, cheese boss dominator on 2k, I'm pretty good and the only thing that determines that is my basketball IQ but i really feel that means less with each year, as the game allows people to just do the most ridiculous, unrealistic and gamebreakinig things.
How can fadeaways be so OP now? and how are leaning off dribble shots from 40 foot GREENING?
anything but wide open, uncontested catch and shoot shots should be locked out from greens full stop.
How are people icon passing through 3 bodies in the lane with perfect accuracy halfway through a layup attempt?
I play 2k online coz you get out what you put in - you play vs SIM heads and you can have a SIM experience, but 2k20 is first time I've doubted that.Comment

Its crazy how since people complained about demigod builds, the level of gameplay has gone downhill.

You are so right. Back in NBA 2k15 we were able to beat 90+ squads with our crappy high 60/low 70 ovr players in 3on3 park games, just by playing smart basketball. Now all these people do is run around until they hit heavily contested leaning 3pt shots from close to midcourt.Comment

In 16 / 17 (where you couldn’t badge up in park) we used to do the same with our mid 80s players. We didn’t have time to grind my career, so our limited gaming time together was just in park. Played with no badges the whole year. Crazy to think about that now.
Yes I know most here hate park, but when you are looking for 3 on 3 ball cause you have 1 friend or 2 that can get on with you at a time, it has its place. A lot easier to manage one random vs 2 or 3 in Rec. Played more pro am when you didn’t need 5 to start.
Hated 19 with a passion, enjoying 20 so far. Feeling like smarter play is being rewarded. Curious to see how it ends up unfolding as badges are added to players, and if the balance im seeing now is retained, especially shooting wise. Heck, just the change in inbounding in park at half court was worth the upgrade to me.

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
I think there's more to it than that.
I remember someone saying that they hold off on patch notes to avoid biasing the feedback. Once you tell gamers you've changed something, they tend to exaggerate.
Yesterday was an example. Apparently park speeds were quickened, and some of us perceived 5 on 5 became a track meet. Would the feedback have been as extreme had Mike never stated speeds were quickened? Probably not.
None of us can begrudge him if he needs time away from all that **** on twitter.Comment

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
Not sure if you guys noticed but the 2K community is going bonkers on Twitter about 2K20 displeasure. The hashtag #Fix2K20 is even trending.
This worries me because i fear that the devs will change things that do not need to be changed. The game is verrrryy glitchy and buggy. Disconnects, crashes, no rep, and overall infrastructure bugs most DEFINITELY need to be fixed.
However, the GAMEPLAY imo is some of the best we've ever had in a 2K game. I'm seeing opinions on gameplay split between sim and casual guys. I play My Team which is one of the cheesiest modes in the game, but SIM/realistic gameplay is truly being rewarded there once you know what you're doing. The skill gap is much bigger this year, so a lot of the guys that are struggling are complaining.
My fear is that the devs mistake the glitchy bugs that need to be fixed for gameplay changes as well. Gameplay is good. We maybe need 1 or 2 MINOR gameplay tweaks and the game is golden. Please do not do anything drastic.

Idk if you guys will see this, but you have to stand your ground when it comes to gameplay this year. Yes the bugs need to be fixed asap, but PLEASE do not give in to the outcry for gameplay changes. This is the first time in a while where i've actually had to spend a decent amount of time in PRACTICE MODE to learn the game, learn how to dribble, learn how to score, learn how to play defense. As someone who values skilled competitive gameplay, this is amazing. Allow people time to learn the game before you change too much of the gameplay. Please please please i BEG YOU.
Suddenly, yesterday there was a change. Movement felt less deliberate, and everything felt more loose and CPU felt far easier. We pay 60-100 for this game just like these Twitter casuals do. It's frustrating to put in time to learn the game, only to have the rug pulled out from under you each time there's an update. Year after year, best gameplay tends to be at launch, and near the end of the season after all patches. This is a tired process...I agree with OP. It's been said year after year, but please 2K stand your ground on gameplay. Ideally, maybe a way needs to be figured out to separate online from offline as far as patching.Comment

I´ll be getting the game this week. I´ll try it first without the updates and then later after all the updates and will then compare it and post my opinion on it hereComment

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
Drop game speed down to 45. It's actually feels better than it felt at launch.

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
The faster game speed is definitely needed man. Half these ppl complaining it’s too fast have never gone to a live nba game, players don’t move like they are on the moon! These guys move fast. Shooting needs to be faster as well.Comment

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
Yeah played last night and it was faster, but it wasn't too bad. Still able to blow by the bigs. Don't play online, but offline it's still damn good so far to me

Re: The uproar on Twitter about 2K20
I agree game speed needed a boost in speed the problem is you can blow by your defender for a lay up at anytime. CPU defense feels like it is stuck in the mud at times....And this is on HOF settingComment
