I have a question, do the in game updates only happen at the main menu?

If you have the game open when the update is released they will ask you to go back to the main menu, so yes but other wise it will update once you boot up the game.

Wow I just played a rec game, and it plays almost exactly like 2k19.

1. My guard with 65 ball control and like 70 speed is flying around the court
2. Everybody is leaking out every play,
3. Centers get a rebound and are literally throwing it to the other end right under the basket.
4. People are playing homing missile defense to trigger steals.
5. And now moving 3s are getting greened quite frequently

If the gameplay changes I'm avoiding an update like a plague. I'm enjoying this more than any 2k I've ever played honestly and I've played every one.

I've run a healthy amount of PNO and PN games offline at this point and it's really not some speedfest now....I think guys are letting the news get the best of them.

Just #leavethegameplayalone 2k. It's your own precious work; you kept on working hours and hours and hours, devs did a tremendous job on gameplay, there has come leaps and bounds, there is no such year that a game can be this finished and this much changed and this balanced in this short period of time.

Off the charts i can say, the gameplay is beatiful, i'm not saying perfect because the real life ain't no perfect either, the real NBA is nowhere near perfect but 2k20 gameplay is beatiful, full of real basketball and physical elements in it. Best ever basketball video game created. Best of its genre Ever. Amazing work done, i don't remember the last time i got the same feeling in a video game of basketball.

Just do yourself a favor 2k and devs who might be lurking, protect what you created, don't cave in to those crybabies.

Twitter is toxic, everyone thinks they are no1, they all know everything; other than they don't know Sh.t.

The youtubers are nutjobs, all they care is $ they are going to make for themselves.

Publicity in every sense is good 2k, don't be afraid from them. Use it to your own power. Fifa sells a lot more than yours and they get bashed a lot more than yours but they don't come out and release patch in 3 days after reading some tweets and watching some bums on yt playing the game and telling what not. Fifa stands grounded, protect their work and let it as is except they tweak minor and technical stuff ofcourse but they don't change the gameplay after some tweets.

What may i say even more i don't i would just repeat myself here. 2K devs please, just hold tight, keep your work grounded, stand still and believe that you did an amazing job of gameplay. You know it, we know it.

Fifa has had a, I would guess 4-6 week patch every year since 17. Game always plays slower, then they patch it to the previous year. Also having a bunch of issues around that

Im just playing some career, and got burnt sagging into the paint and not being able to get out to shooters. Doesn't feel any different to me.

For the people on xbox one, if you dont mind playing the game with the internet disconnected and want to play the game the way it was before the recent in game update, I suggest you delete the game, reinstall the game and the day one patch, once the game is reinstalled and the day one patch is re downloaded
turn xbox live off before you boot the game up,

That way it can't give you the recent ingame update because the game is offline. This will only work if you do this before xbox get the new 1.02 patch that ps4 got.

Yep, I tried Play Now and it feels the same for the most part,maybe a tad bit faster.

Definite speed change in MC though,players lost a bit of the weighty feel....sort of like the game speed being too high. Quick players can still burn slow ones though.

Not sure if you guys noticed but the 2K community is going bonkers on Twitter about 2K20 displeasure. The hashtag #Fix2K20 is even trending.

This worries me because i fear that the devs will change things that do not need to be changed. The game is verrrryy glitchy and buggy. Disconnects, crashes, no rep, and overall infrastructure bugs most DEFINITELY need to be fixed.

However, the GAMEPLAY imo is some of the best we've ever had in a 2K game. I'm seeing opinions on gameplay split between sim and casual guys. I play My Team which is one of the cheesiest modes in the game, but SIM/realistic gameplay is truly being rewarded there once you know what you're doing. The skill gap is much bigger this year, so a lot of the guys that are struggling are complaining.

My fear is that the devs mistake the glitchy bugs that need to be fixed for gameplay changes as well. Gameplay is good. We maybe need 1 or 2 MINOR gameplay tweaks and the game is golden. Please do not do anything drastic.

Idk if you guys will see this, but you have to stand your ground when it comes to gameplay this year. Yes the bugs need to be fixed asap, but PLEASE do not give in to the outcry for gameplay changes. This is the first time in a while where i've actually had to spend a decent amount of time in PRACTICE MODE to learn the game, learn how to dribble, learn how to score, learn how to play defense. As someone who values skilled competitive gameplay, this is amazing. Allow people time to learn the game before you change too much of the gameplay. Please please please i BEG YOU.

Unfortunately, they already started. Park speeds on 1000 now. Smh
4 days in and already caved.

No. The people here on this very website said that the speed had got increasingly fast since the latest game update, the park boys said the gameplay was too slow, so 2k increased the speed of the game which affected the sim non park players too.
If you read most of the comments on here since the update you would know that.

Yeah and most were overacting, if it increased it did very little, the update also fixed the excessive double team at half court and then a new patch was released.

I for one applaud Czar for having the cojones to delete Twitter. Damn thing is a cancer. Hell, I want all the devs to do the same and just chill at OS like the old days and we have mods that can just use the ban stick on whoever's acts up.

As for the patch...its basically 2k19 speed with footplanting. For offline it's not too bad but online yeah..my brother playing defense couldn't keep up with his man and he scored all 21 points in 3v3 pro am. The speed definitely favors the offense...
