If you are shooting around 40-45% with current shooting sliders in the first week of the game of PNO, what will you be shooting with the current setup in June/July once your timing/skills improves?

My comment regarding HOF was a retraction of my previous post. Originally, I thought they would need to increase their abilities but it's in a good spot right now.
Isnt 40 to 45 percent realistic?

Yes sir, and I'm okay with those percentages. The reason we have those percentages IS due to wide open shots not being automatic or dropping at an unrealistic rate.

Unfortunately most people don't feel that way. I think the problem is expectations were set from previous games, which percentages were too high on open shots. It's still embedded into most because they base realistic off of 2K's gameplay rather than real life stats.

Look up percentages for wide open shots and most would be surprised and realize its in a good spot.

          2k18 fixes

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)

Late contest on laups matter too much.

          Random blocks doing pumpfakes.

Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.

So, people REALLY believe that full whites/bars is the same as an excellent release?

I believe so and That’s the problem

They assume the higher the bar is filled the higher the shot percentage of it going in. And that’s not the case at all.

Sooooo, as per tradition, the first shooting patch nerfs Shot Creators for the rest of the year. Why is this always a thing? We are the only archetype in 2k that literally gets nothing BUT nerfs every year. I have yet to see any shooting patch that actually buffs or helps us, while others get the golden treatment.

Hell, even when they lower moving shots TOO much (cough17cough), they never revert it, or buff it. They just let it ride out after the initial nerf for the rest of the year. Can’t lie, it’s starting to get old.

Same as every year. Way too many misses with good shooters. I bump my sliders maybe 1 or 2 points up and keep it moving.

I must be getting old, because the stupidity of some players just blows my mind. To be fair, I can understand why they would think that, but you would think that they should know better if they been playing the game for many years. They're basically looking at the meter as an overall direct indicator of their shot success. To them, 90% full means they had a 90% chance of hitting the shot presuming that it's completely wide open. The crazy part is that if we were to entertain that thinking, TECHNICALLY there was a 10% chance of missing...well, you missed. On Twitter, people are ready to march on 2K HQ.

I've heard "it was right on the line" when referring to the meter and being completely full when it came to them bricking a shots. There's definitely many people in the community who equate success to how filled the bar is. But I can kinda see their logic when you have guys shooting 60% all the time

Honestly I miss the days with no green release, even if that was a thing back then but we just couldn't see it.

We need a small buff to open shot % for slightly early and a smaller one for slightly late.

First off shooting online is broken. IDK if it’s input lag, changes to release, or what. But way too many solid shooters brick wide open shots badly if they don’t have some HOF shooting badge(basically everyone outside KD, Kyrie, Harden, Steph and Klay) I mean I run plays and guys are coming off screens wide open and clanking for four possessions in a row. I cannot got any shot without the shot meter and I hate it because I always fill that’s crutch for scrubs to game the system and not play intellegient.

And that’s 100% what people assume. They think the higher the bar is filled the higher chance of you making it.

I laugh when they say “full whites keep missing”

Like bro if it were a full white it would be green as the green window is at the top of the release.

A “full white” is either slightly early and underneath the free window or slightly late which means it filled the bar and bounced back down and passed the green window.

But it’s the fault of 2K for not spreading the right detailed information about their shotmeter

The bar is not actually full that’s the thing.
The bar goes to the top and bounces back down. With the green window being at the top(a full bar)

If you’re slightly early you missed the green window slightly as the meter filled.

If you’re slightly late you passed the green window and the meter is on its way back down.

I think non-green shots should get a slight buff. Right now, I'm playing a CAP in MyLeague, with 70 3pt. That should net me around 30% 3pt%, according to players like Monk or Westbrook, especially since I have catch and shoot, and only shoot open shots. However, I'm right around 17%, and won't go higher. I get mostly slightly early/late releases, too.

In pratice mode, I barely make 2/10 attempts, mainly from greens. Feels too low.
