Have the modding community found a way to reset NBA records/edit player histories for historic simulation?

For example, say you want to re-simulate 2008 forward. To not have stat discrepancies (player records, player stat histories, 2K believing it to be the 2019-2020 season).

Posted this over in the art thread but got no bites, so maybe you guys have some ideas. Has anyone found any workarounds to get the updated player face scans into an existing MyLeague? I tried to edit the players in the updated rosters section and then export their appearance, but guys in that mode still have their original looks. It seems like the updated looks are only in Play Now. On console, so unfortunately can't mod much, at least that I'm aware of.

For whatever reason it’s not transferring to MyLeague at this point. DLo looks the same, Wiggins looks the same, Pooles look the same and Holiday looks the same in-game in an already created MyLeague. They did get Dwight Howard in looking normal, but Russ still has cornrows from the beginning of the year. Kinda wild they don’t provide better updates than just Play Now mode.

I am still pretty new to MyLeague and how all the contracts work. I learned a couple of things when I was looking carefully at the contracts that I didn't know.

1. The supermax contract is in the game. According to my experiments in MyLeague, the Raptors have two players that will be eligible for a supermax contract - Gasol and Ibaka. Derozan will also be eligible for a supermax in San Antonio. Davis isn't eligible for a supermax contract in the game. I wasn't sure why but according to an article I read online that is correct, he isn't.

2. If you have Bird Rights to a player, you can offer a max salary of 30% or the supermax of 35% of the salary cap (if the player qualifies for supermax status). If you don't have Bird rights, the max salary is 23% or 25%. At first, I thought non bird rights (1 bird year) got the 23% max and an early bird rights (2 bird years) max was 25% of the cap. But I couldn't reconfirm it.

3. I know this has been previously pointed out but I am not sure if Bird rights are really broken in the game, or if it just isn't set up to account for non bird and early bird cap exceptions. You can't offer bird contracts to non bird and early birds

4. I wasn't sure why you could offer some players five year contracts but not others and figured out you have to have Bird rights to a player to do that. If you don't the max contract length is 4 years.

5. I am pretty sure the midlevel exception is in the game but I wish it was made more clear when you were actually using it.

Are there any other interesting tidbits about MyLeague contracts that you have picked up?

If so, if you could post them here, I'd love to hear about them.

I did go into greater detail in a video below if anyone needs help with contracts like I did.

I had an awesome game earlier today as the 96-97 Kings. I played against the 96-97 Clippers and I hit a game winning driving layup with Mitch Richmond with like 0.5 seconds left! Hell yeah

Is it possible to edit a player to be a free agent?

I made it to the 2021 off-season and I wanted to see Giannas hit the market. All year he said he was going to test the market then he resigned before the end of the season.

You should be able to edit his contract.

I can but there doesnt seem to be a way to make him a free agent.

Did you reduce the years on his contract and set the salary to zero?

You need to edit the individual years down to $0 starting at the end of the contract.

I just finished the 20/21 Regular season in my Celtics MyLeague. I was having a pretty disappointing season (hanging around the 6th-7th seed) so I made a trade with the Knicks at the deadline - Robert Williams, Tremont Waters, Adam Mokoka (2-way) and two future 1st for Mitchell Robinson, Malik Beasley and Tyler Bey (2-way). The Knicks were out of the playoff picture and had signed Montrez Harrell in the offseason so that made an unhappy Robinson even more expendable for them.

After the trade, we picked things up and got some momentum down the stretch. We ended up with the 4th seed, one game away from the 3rd seed and will face the Magic in the 1st Round.

Both Smart and Hayward are injured and expected to miss the next week or two so we have the following matchup:





And the rest of the playoffs look like this:



The top of the West is loaded. It will be interesting to see who wins the battle of LA and who comes out of the Warriors/Rockets. Outside of that, I think Brooklyn/Atlanta should the most competitive matchup in the East.

I beat a scrappy Orlando Magic team in 6 games, then went on to face the top-seeded Bucks. To make a long story short, I got up 3-1 then lost the last three games. Game 7 was just one of those games where nothing went right for me. The Bucks were up 20 in the 20 Quarter and I cut that down to 5 at one point but then they went on another run and I never got it back close,
the final was 136-109.

The Bucks moved on to the ECF against the Nets and beat Kyrie/KD in 7 games. The finally took out the Rockets for the Championship. The series was tied 2-2 then Houston lost James Harden for the series in Game 5. Nither Game 6 or 7 was close as the Rockets couldn't hang without their dynamic backcourt duo.

Now on to the 21-22 offseason where my C's have Jayson Tatum's RFA and Gordon Hayward's UFA to deal with... but the good news is that we should have a Top 5 pick coming from Memphis (since it didn't convey last season). We'll see how it goes...
