I see both sides. Like I don't know people internet connection speeds or how much they pay for the internet.

Let me share an old story. But around 2k9 I think. Anyone remember the double team glitch where any double team . Locked you into a steal animation. I never knew about it. Until I went over to my friends house. Got into a close game. And my friend started trapping me. I lost the game. And didn't understand how that was possible. Went home tried the same thing. And it wasn't possible. Come to find out. My friend didn't WiFi. They had the internet. But no router. So for the next 2 and half years. I would switch PS3 with him. And update his PS4 at my place. I eventually got them a router for their house.

So yeah it's great the game is getting improved. My story is from years ago. I'm sure everyone has the internet in their house now a days. Router are being given away for free now by ISP. But I can't imagine anyone that has limited internet or bandwidth sucks (most likely) or charged per GB/MB to use the internet.

Not everyone situation is the same I guess.

Re: NBA 2K20 Patch 1.06 Available on Xbox One & PS4 - No Patch Notes Yet

I switched from PC to PS4 this year (not because I've given up on PC, but because my toddler doesn't like when I use my computer because it means it's harder for her to climb on me whenever she wants) and I feel the pain every time there's a patch. The console file structure for 2K is a mess so the patches are always gigantic. On PC they were always much smaller.

For me it's luckily just an inconvenience if I have to wait for the download or whatever, but I feel really bad for anyone with capped internet or living in places without good service.

They need to stop with these limited patch details, why not give us full details..

How can people be tired of patches?

Well, here's my reason... I live in an area that DOES NOT have any high-speed Internet Providers available.... So a 10+ gig patch takes at least 8-10 hours for me to download. smh.

Today's patch 1.06 will take me about 13 hours or so, to download.

Don't get me wrong... I don't have ANY problems watching HD movies/tv shows on Netflix or HBO Now online. Those other websites download just fine. Always.

And I don't have any problems downloading updates for ANY OTHER PS4 games I play. Those download just fine. Always. They usually only take about 2 hours to download patches from various other Game Developers... but for some reason... 2k's patches are ALWAYS slow as hell (for me) when it comes time to download their 'updates'.

This game dropped on Sept. 6th... and today is Oct. 10th... and in just ONE single month, 2K has dropped 6 different patches that equal almost 100 gigs in total Filesize, on the PS4.
            • Patch 1.01 = 23 Gigs on Ps4.
            • Patch 1.02 = 7 Gigs on Ps4.
            • Patch 1.03 = 24 Gigs on Ps4.
            • Patch 1.04 = 127 Megs on Ps4.
            • Patch 1.05 = 20 Gigs on Ps4.
            • Patch 1.06 = 15 Gigs on Ps4.

By comparison, the entire NBA 2k20 game was only about 45-50 gigs (in total) for me to download on Day 1, if i remember correctly.

I have a regular 9-5 job.... so I lose MANY HOURS of my 'limited' gaming time, whenever I am forced to download yet ANOTHER MASSIVE 2k patch.

That's why I'm (personally) "tired of their patches."

Instead of asking why are people tired of 2k patches?...

Perhaps we should all be asking the 2k Developers: "Why are ALL these patches (this year) so damn BIG???? Why do we have to download a file that is equivalent in size to HALF THE ENTIRE GAME every single week?? What's really going on?? This is absurd."

I just don't understand these patch sizes. These patches are damn near a size of a full game for just some hot fixes here and there. Finally had some free time for some 2k and I'm met with another ridiculous 10+ gb size patch. Doesn't help that my ISP has its internet plans capped at 25 mbps in my area either :

Yea, these patches are annoying as heck. I can see if it's lke, 2-5GB worth. But this is like, the third 15+ GB patch for a game that's been out for a month. That's more GB than the base game took to install at this point (or close to it).

I just wanted to come home and play a game or 2 before bed, and now I can't because I have to download a 20GB patch that won't download for about an hour. Screw it, I guess I'll go shower again, and eat what was supposed to be my leftovers.

I appreciate them fixing the game, but maybe next time, don't release a game that needs 60GB+ worth of updates in the first month?

Ah I didnt know that, although I would have no clue how to do it, I can barely figure out my cell phone, just to use it, lol. I work for myself, and now days, Im basically retired, so its not a huge deal to me, but for those who do work away from home, and want to come home and relax and play a game, only to find out they cant because yet another big patch came out, I can understand their frustration.

I dont know anything about electronics and making games, and Im sure there is a lot of tedious work involved, and you cant catch every glitch before the release date, but its like they put out a game that they knew wasnt finished and had a lot of issues. So people do have every right to be upset. Patches are a good thing, until it starts allowing companies to put out a game they know isnt finished. But on the other hand, Im glad the ability is there to fix issues. Its like a double edged sword of sorts that we the consumer has to deal with, on one hand, the ability is there, unlike how it use to be, to fix things, but it also allows a company to release a unfinished product.

This bothers me too.....what exactly are these "many more fixes"? Tell me about the fixes, I want to know about all of the fixes.

This many patches in only about a months time is not good. How in the world is anyone ever supposed to get used to how the game plays if they keep changing various aspects of gameplay what seems like every week?

I'm assuming most conplaining are playing mode's that don't disconnect periodically during timeouts?
I'm sorry you have to wait a bit to play for one night, but issues like that absolutely need to be fixed,. Ya'll will survive, lol.

Truthfully, this has been my biggest gripe about the patches. Now, we have to guess what changes were made the gameplay.
