Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.

Who was it who watched the games I posted (altho I venture to say not every minute) and offered commentary? I really appreciate that. I'd love to start a thread like that where we post games watch n critique. Obviously I don't agree with some of your points of view, but it did occur to me my style of play, high post, might confuse some meta Randoms.

Appreciate it anyway. I'll look at any stuff, as long as I have time, and post my commentary too. From half real bball half what works in 2k. I think i know a bit of both.

Rec is still arcade af. That is all. If you're still on current gen, you aint missin anything. Wish I could report some good news. I wish 2K would just fix their game, fix gameplay balance, represent the sport they chose to make a game for. It's not that difficult. I wish the gameplay was so good that there'd be nothing to criticize. I remember a time when 2K actually tried to at least appear to be a simulation.

We should probably start a thread for general conversation/ highlights for us guys who venture into the park/ rec and have some good games/highlights. I actually enjoy watching other guys play, everyone has a different playstyle.

We can keep this as general complaint/rant thread if need be.

Can't believe even after a huge update, they still haven't addressed cheese post hooks. Really disappointing.

As far as rec I’m enjoying the experience overall .

Just want to add that defense could use a buff . Offense moves much faster than the defense and finishes in traffic are a still but much . Feels too offensive heavy and favored .

                Other than that it’s fun

                  No doubt.

Seems legit tho. I got mad footage. But I don't edit. Ended up losing my data cap so I'm trying to flood the net.

But Yea it just amazes me how bad people are. I added this guy who said it was his first time playing online. He made some mistakes but overall he played well because he didn't sit on the ball.

I think what I'm trying to run is like a modified triangle because there's not a real scoring opportunity inside (because it seems to me like contests get harder closer to rim), so I stay higher a bit. It's amazing how many times people drive directly into me. Haha. It'd be kinda cool if they could introduce wave off animations. I don't wanna argue w these dudes about bball theory but wave off, call for pick... Should both be in there along with call for ball.

But I really don't see why it people come down and there isn't an immediate look that they can't come off the ball. Once they start over probing it really gets nasty.

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.

Yeah I’m like Rockie. I’m enjoying Rec. I will put the caveat that I enjoy it when there’s no 60 AIs in the mix. They still need to fix several things though

-Still no penalty or reward for quitting. They say they fixed this but they didn’t.
-PFs should be able to fill positions 3-5. Would help because there’s an abundance of PFs now. Would also result in less AIs.
-Stats shown in the locker room are still not displayed correctly for teammate grade and on the bottom row (Shooting %/Blocks/Steals)
-Still no stats shown pre game at all.

There’s some obvious balancing issues but I think the cat’s out of the bag on most of those. I’m making one of those OP PF builds just to see how it weighs against my Paint Beast.

Exactly. What other game charges $50 PER BUILD and you STILL have to grind 50 hours for badges???

                        2K: "We're an esport now"

Also 2K: "If you wanna compete at the top you have to pay a badge grinder or spend 100 hours to get your player(s) to a 99 so that you're not at a disadvantage"

                        Like, pick one.

If you want True competition with everyone on the same playing field, make the grind 5x faster. If you want a bunch of no lifers wasting their life on some bs "grind" that feels more like work, do you what you're doing now. Think about how many good players are playing Rec because the entire system is about Grind grind grind, get your shots up, spam 3 ptrs so you can reach that "rank" faster, so that you can EVENTUALLY be the same as other builds. Whole system is bs. The kicker is where the gameplay doesn't even validate the grind. Your grinding under an arcade system. I get why they do it all, I get it makes money, but this craps gonna be the same a year from now or 5 years from now. You're gonna be working on your build, waiting for your friends to "badge up" instead of hopping in and competing. One year of this, ok. Two years? ok. Have fun with this system for multiple years. Gonna get burnt out. Or not, who knows. 2K community is pretty tolerable. But, any bad press, bad PR, bad crap said about this greedy bait n switch company for this pay to play on steroids system, I ain't defending them lmao.

I've been playing Looking for Group. It's kinda like real basketball with randoms as far you have to weed out who's good and who's not and establish who's gonna run the team the best. Can't tell you how many people get the ball just 'cause they're the loudest on the mic, even if they're low iq af. Some are trying to win, some are just playing to rep up, some are just playing to do something while they're high. So many players are in the wrong roles. Just played a game with LFG randoms and the PG had the highest usage rate even though he was trash. Meanwhile I'm averaging 8 ast as a center and they freezing me out. I stay chill until we start losing, then I'm like GIVE ME THE FN BALL lol. That's what loses games, these bums who make PG's and demand the ball but have no business being the key decision maker on the court.
