I agree, thats what they do in The W, so they already have the framework to do it.

Considering most My Player builds are 99 ovr Superstars, it makes sense to do this.

At this point anyone saying they can stand the rec is a liar. People say they rec players but they have less than 100 rec games and they RARELY play without their friends.

As a casual player who runs rec by myself 95% of the time im telling you this mode is unplayable.

The AIs are still the problem, or is it just the overall mechanics of the mode? I didn't ever try this year per the comments in this thread.

Matchmaking is impossible to have fun and literally everyone quits when they are about to lose

Just something 2K needs to fix. Almost a automatic loss playing with even one AI and the team knows how to abuse him.

They need ROLE PLAYERS and have them programmed to do essential role player skills. Shooter role player, will shoot! Late contests affect them less.

Slasher, will cut hard when there is a lane and try to dunk. Badges/etc affect them less. I think the fact is that badges just make players to op for AI. If competitive AI ignored badges, it would be more fair imo.

But I could think of a bunch of 'roles' and they should be relatively easy to program. If 2k is able to program whole plays, they should be able to say, drift back to three or cut hard to rim when players are in this spot.

You should be able to pick your guys, either no names or mid tier NBA players. We don't need badged up AI imo, we need functional AI. Gimme Dan Majerle or something. Gimme a big that's not a freaking crash dummy for contacts.

I think the AIs should go hard, depending. I feel like they should set up match making better then make the AI go harder depending on the level of play. NHL21 has some pretty strong AI at least in terms of disrupting and attacking, you have to control them and such, but you can play position around them and cover their holes. The AI needs to be able to cover a hole. People shouldn't be able to jack a 3 on AI every time. I'm cool w/ people roasting an AI but not with the same move over and over.

Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.

                    Played my first REC game...

Had 4 AI teammates. I'm currently ranked 73 SG overall (didn't bother trying to grind badges). Played against an entire human team of 90+ overalls.

First thought...liked that NBA 2K20 at least attempted to keep players of similar overalls together.

Second thought...Not sure how I feel about the lobby inside the rec. I guess technically it's closer to what you see at an actual gym.

Third thought...AI teammates wouldn't be that bad if they could actually HIT an open shot. Call me crazy, but I felt like I should have had 30 assists that game.

Fourth thought...I might regret not putting anything on FTs giving that I created a MJ/Kobe player. I thought I could hit SOMETHING, but I wasn't busting a grape at the FT line.

Fifth thought...despite my opponents' obvious advantage, I wasn't "impressed" with the competition. I feel like I could be handful once I get my player maxed and equip the animations of my choice.

Guess what? I can stand Rec. 466 games played, and 97% of them I'm out there by myself these days. So am I a liar?

If you tell me you enter solo 97% of the time, and have fun most the time, against these 5 man 99 overall squads, im calling bull****.

My fun rating does increase when I use my center, but besides that im calling BS. If there is a magic server where you dont have to play against 5 90+ overalls every game then please enlighten us the secret code to put in

Well guess what? That's a YOU problem if you're not having fun.

I haven't squaded up with anyone since February, and yes, I have fun. I'm not saying there aren't some times where I get agitated, because randoms can do that to you, but yes, I have fun. And unlike you, I LIKE the challenge of finding ways to beat 5-man squads, ESPECIALLY when you come across a group of randoms who figure out what's going on and can get on the same page. I don't bitch, whine and cry about it like a lot of you all do. Doesn't always work out that way, but when it does work, it's a freakin' BLAST. I'm sorry (I'm really not) that you can't find enjoyment in Rec, but everyone isn't you.

I have a 79.6 win percentage, so it's clear I don't win every game. But I've learned how to mitigate the impatience I once had by simply leaving a game when I see stupidity beginning to take over. If you stay in there, again, that's a YOU problem.

My golden rules (they aren't 100%, but they damn sure help more often than not):

1.) If any stock AI join the lobby on my team, I leave immediately.
2.) If I am stuck at PG (I'm a SG, and I am built like one 100%), I leave immediately.
3.) If I see anyone is shooting under 50% average from the field, I leave immediately.
4.) If I see 2 or more people with close to the same name, I leave immediately.

From there, I'll see how a game goes. If I see I'm teamed with idiots, I simply leave and move on to the next game. I'm not about to argue with anyone, I'll say "Yeah, y'all got it" and bounce. If it happens a couple of times in a row, I take a break for a bit, then come back a bit later and try again.

NBA 2K20 is so much better. Played one game, and it felt like I fell in love again. I loaded into the Neighborhood, and it's a short walk to the REC.

The short walk alone is enough for me. The City is just way too big.

Lol what? Weren't you one of the main people whining about 2K20 for nearly the entire year?

I mean, if you weren't, then my bad. But I distinctly remember your name going in on 2K20, particularly Rec, and how bad it was. Hell, in this very topic some 80+ pages back. Just don't become one of those 'last year was better' people that come out every year a few months during the current 2k cycle.

Wasn't me. I recruited some of my PNO brethrens to REC. I may have had moments like everyone does, but I really liked REC overall in NBA 2K20 and it was the mode that I played the most with my Interior Force Center. Actually, I like NBA 2K20 way better than 2K21. I dabbled in NBA 2K19, but I didn't really like the badge grinding, because it was way too slow.

Let me check my previous posts though, lol.

EDIT: Just checked my previous posts. They were mostly positive except when I was acting like a diva with my C, lol.
