Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
First time here? lol. You're preaching to the wrong crowd. Calling feedback "whining"... It's. a. Forum. You're upset that people have a problem with arcade basketball. Maybe you should play a different game.Comment

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
Ah the good old "go outside and play if you want real ball" argument. No crap a videogame isn't real life basketball. But with that logic, why do you even care if it's basketball at all? You should be ok with nba jam type basketball, jump 100 feet in the air. And I love how this argument always comes from people who don't care about basketball obviously, yet they keep specifically buying a BASKETBALL game. Or maybe you just do it for the park clothes, who knows. The aim of a self-labeled "simulation" game is to be A SIMULATION. Otherwise, what's the point. That doesn't mean you remove all fun aspects of the game. But it does mean you at least attempt to make realism a factor in the gameplay.
Mcdonalds has record sales too, doesn't make it quality food. Record sales doesn't make something quality, it just means it's appealed to the masses. They're the ONLY basketball videogame. Duhhh
How bout YOU arcade bums go play something else so that 2K can start taking feedback from the right demographic, instead of the polluted bs they're hearing now from people who don't know crap about real basketball.
And I bet you'll whine about "whiners" til thenComment

And I'm sure you'd be the first to whine to Mike Wang that shooting is too hard because you can't green with 3 guys triple teaming you.Comment

Feedback = "whining". I guess you're whining too then by that definition.

Ive played ball all my life son. I care about the game. I still play basketball.
Yet I see 2k for what it is. A videogame
A quite fun one. Play with some homies, have fun in rec.
I don’t buy park clothes.
I also don’t whine 4 months into the game about random bench player x hairstyle not being correct
But hey, by all means keep “giving feedback” for another 4-5 years. Who knows.Comment

Do you though "son"? Maybe you played 12th man in middle school or got that Javale McGee iq, idk if that counts. Yeah you a "baller", yet you're upset that people are giving feedback to bring in more basketball realism (no one here whining about hair styles btw). That checks out perfectly...
Like I said, where does your sim "boring" and arcade "fun" begin and end? Why do you have any opinion at all about how the game plays.
How do you not see you're part of the problem. This community has enough arcade-pushing trash screwing up the gameplay.Comment

I see you keep using the word feedback. I don’t think you know what that word means.

I didn't know OS needed you as a moderator for deeming what's feedback and what isn't. Run along little guy. No one forced you to click on this thread now did they?Comment

Re: Twitter and YouTube killed 2K basketball
I mean, if we're bring honest there isn't really any feedback here. Picture yourself as a dev, what would you get from this thread exactly? "Make it more like real life basketball?" I mean its cool to vent and all but thats pretty much where we are at here.
Its kind of devolving into a "old man yells at cloud" situation here...occasionally upped to repeat the same 'ol
"Those darn kids and their Snapchaps Forcenight!"
A bunch of typing about how 2K lost their way and wishing it was like it was. Sim this, sim that, but where's the support for the sticky at the top of the forum promoting sim channels on Twitter and YouTube? Where's the community getting together? That's the part that kills me.
I've had a lot of fun in Pro Am this year, AND Park for that matter. I also "bought" a Tim Duncan jersey at the "NBA Store" with my VC. Call it what you want, Its a video game man...I play for fun. I also play 3 times a week and half of these uppity "You play a game mode in a video game so you don't know basketball" guys can't guard me in real life [emoji38] That's not a shot at you FG, just that mentality in general.Comment

I've never played an organized game of ball in my life. My layup is non existent. I can't dribble but with one hand. My jumper looks like Kendrick Perkins freethrows. I haven't even watched ball seriously since like 06 when Dirk made it to the finals the first time.
But ive learned i have a natural feel for the game through playing 5 on 5 competitively. I wish i woulda played growing up, id probably be even better at 2k.
I've said it before. In the entirety of my online experience with 2k, I've never finished the year under .500.
Most of it is due to the fact i play with at level teammates, sometimes they're better than me. Most people i play with are at LEAST as good as i am.
But EVERYONE i play with will tell you that i play team ball.
That extra swing to the weakside? No matter what position i play, I'll see the shooter.
Put the ball in my hands and most of the time i make the right play.
Only reason i dont play PG more is I've never been a SHOOTING PG. I can score, but I'm not looking to hang 30 at the 1. I'm far too passive for that.
Actually some of my best games I've ran point forward at the 3 or 4.
But i play defense first, always have. That's something that can't be taught, that's instinct.
The fact that ANYONE on this board can try and dissect any one else's game without playing with them is not contributing. We're supposed to be lifting each other up here, not tearing them down. I've learned that over the years here.
I agree, the main focus of the board should be giving the SIMNATION a platform and a voice. Too much complaining gets the devs disinterested so they don't post but around launch.
I've had a few exchanges with Czar here and on YT. Always wished i could just sit him down and pick his brain on the mic. (He never accepted my PSN request... Lolol)
I'm long winded but i want to innovate and see things progress. This game has been stale for YEARS to me and i kept playing it!
I've said it before... Next gen has the opportunity to reset the standard and change our perception of what a sports game can truly be.
But unless we band together and REALLY try and highlight what 2k does well, and be CONSTRUCTIVE in our criticism, its going to be more and more and more of the same every year.
Where's the OS pride and comradery? SIMNATION should be one voice, one message.
Let's get some assists, not TOs or techs. I want to see some extra passes, just cuz its the right play, not cuz it helps our numbers or our teammate grade! Lol
