I am calling xbox support this evening to see what they think. My warranty runs out next month so I need to get on it.

For those of you that have sent your xbox in, have you had any issues at all with the new one that you have gotten back?

Also, how did you ship it? Did you send it in the original box even though it says not to?

There going to tell you its a 2k issue since its only happening on one game. And basically, you're just wasting time sending it in.

Exactly this. People coming on here crying for weeks about their system shutting off... why the **** havent you used your warranty yet? What are you waiting for? But from what I am reading on here and Reddit, 80% of the people experiencing this dont understand how to setup a warranty claim. Embarrassing.

As someone just stated, my console only shuts off on only one game. It's not that huge of an issue for me to send it on warranty. Plus, I personally have a 2-year product replacement plan on my console through Best Buy. I'm covered regardless. As another poster stated, I rather them CLEARLY identify the error and fix the problem going forward for any future games. Technically, we still don't know if it's something that can be fixed via patch and/or firmware. In your "trying to be slick with the console bashing", COD was a game that reportedly had the problem too, and they were able to fix it via a patch....from that perspective, it just looks like 2K and EA are too lazy to try to figure it out. The two most widely considered to be "greedy" companies that "don't care about their customers".

If I still had the original warranty, then I would have replaced it on GP since I bought my console in November.

Mine was received at the service center on October 4th, moved to Processing on October 4th, and is still Processing today lol! So maybe today we start to get some movement maybe and they ship mine back or a replacement. Who knows?

Yeah praying it gets processed today because I think Wednesday would be the last day before it would end up not making it back to me until next week. Would love to have it back before the weekend, but we'll see.

EDIT: Looks like they've indeed shipped on their end about 24h later, hoping it's the same Kentucky deal (since I'm in PA) because the tracking does seem to say the label is a UPS ground (which theoretically could still miss Friday maybe?).

I tried a time and cost calculation earlier (UPS has one on their site) and it said if something shipped today from a Louisville zip code that it'd make it to me by Friday guaranteed.

Oh and more news yet (and none more on my end really since I'll just need to receive it to update now) but my shipping estimate says it will be here on Friday on the tracking number, and that it's shipping from Kentucky (so new Xbox, which appeared in my devices already as well).

So fingers crossed on Friday I'll be able to report back with more on my end as far as experience with a 1 week turnaround (I DID pay for expedited shipping) on the replacement and if it works out with a new Xbox.

my replace still holds up great.

not 1 shutoff since i sent it in for "repair" (i was sent a new one back).

again, for those that said a warranty repair wouldn't solve the issue and dont waste your time is NOT the experience i had.

replacing my xbox has 100% solved my 2k22 and madden 22 shutoffs, up until this post.

A lot of us assume it is a 2k issue because it has only happened to us on 2k21 and 2k22. But then I got thinking about it and because there has been such a lack of truly next gen game released on xbox that could push the series x I realized NBA 2k21 and 22 were the the only actual next gen games I have played on the console. It certainly could be a microsoft hardware problem. Time will probably tell as more games come out built for next gen only systems.

Crazy thing is up un till like a few weeks ago when I saw this thread I had not heard about xbox having this issue with not only this year but also last year. So that really does show that it has been under reported when its been a issue for like a year yet other sites where not reporting about nba 2k21 causing issues.

Use common sense, if it's on just 2k alone it would turn off every xbox series x who plays nba 2k22 because everyone plays the same patch version.

But if it only happens to some, you all have different xbox series x which means some are defective units that needs to be replaced and some have a fully working series x.

Exactly peeps with the issue should instantly go to store replace it, you have to fight for your console and games working properly, waiting will only make it worse, they won`t fix it with some patch, also they won`t admit their consoles are faulty.

New patch, 2.0.0.14... I guess nothing changed about our issue...
I couldn't test yet TBH but I suppose (and don't wanna have any unreal expectations).

Battlefield game is broken In general right now.

The game seems unplayable on most platforms right now. It's super buggy even on PC and reports of shut offs on PS5 also.

Sent my Series X back to Microsoft this afternoon. Paid the extra 10 bucks for expedited shipping. Lets see what happens!

Got the update on my "My Devices" site that I now have a new, different Xbox Series X registered to my account. Also got an email that It ships today. It is 3 Day Air, guaranteed delivery within 3 days. I can't see where it is shipping from right now, since the shipping info is pretty new. If it ships from Kentucky, I should get it quick since I am in Indianapolis. However, I assume I will get it Monday.


I shipped it out October 1st, it was Processing from October 4th until October 6th, and shipped out this morning. So if I get it Monday at the latest, that is a 10 day turnaround.


I went to the My Devices screen on my PC after logging into my Microsoft account. I clicked on my Xbox and started a repair order straight from there. I didn't communicate with a person or anything, it automatically told me to ship it to them for a repair/replacement.

When I filled out the repair Ticket, I chose "Other" and talked about it consistently and constantly shutting down my Xbox Series X when playing anything online. I also mentioned how it would not turn on unless I did it manually.

If I did it all over, I would choose "Xbox Shuts off And Will Not Turn On" since that is the closest description to our problem.

He is right! My replacement from Microsoft is heading back now! I went to My Devices, started a repair from there, and they never asked for a receipt or anything. I got it straight from Microsoft, however! They should all be under warranty, since the system hasn't been out for a year yet!

That's interesting, just because I sent mine in on the 1st as well but ended up with a UPS Ground shipment expected tomorrow (and very likely coming, it's already at the local place I expect it to be the night before I get a shipment, let alone the afternoon before)

BUT one difference (since we both paid for expedited as well) was that I did say Xbox Will Not Turn On and then specified that it shut down during gameplay. My Xbox didn't spend much more than 24hr techinically "in" service before they told me the replacement was being shipped to me. Also possible my proximity to KY helps since I'm in western PA
