Any specific fan model that you'd recommend?

I don't mind throwing $30 or so at trying solving this problem myself before 2K/Microsoft does.

Honestly I forgot the actual name of the fan but you cant go wrong with whatever you choose... Just read the reviews before you make your purchase..Knock on wood I've been playing 2k Bball all day constantly and no cut-offs yet finger crossed.

Do you have the fan pointing into the box to help cool it down or pointing out, pulling the heat out of the box?

Go to Amazon and purchase a fan to sit on top of your Xbox series x,, I did and haven't had a problem in months..I think its a usb-c connected also it works well!

You know what? I might go ahead and do that. At the end of the day, there's nothing really wrong with an extra precaution to protect your purchase. I'm trying to use my Best Buy replacement warranty AFTER a new console has been released [emoji16]. At some point in the console lifecycle, we all know that MS will eventually redesign the XBSX.

This was a nightmare for me in NBA 2K21.

I'm very disappointed this is still happening. I filled out the ticket but am pessimistic they solve anything because it was never fixed in 2K21. What a rip off. 😔

are you, by chance, in the xbox insider preview program?

I am not in the preview program, this is my first Xbox I have ever owned so I haven't really looked into that.

Here is a further update. I reset my Xbox Series X to factory defaults. It uninstalled all my games and apps, everything. Started the system up like brand new. I only installed my Disc Version of the Legendary Edition of NBA 2k22 and no other apps or games at all.

I went and tried to complete the NBA Draft Combine. I got through all of the drills and everything. I got to the 5 on 5 at the end and with only 12 seconds left in the game, the system shut off again. So that didn't fix ANYTHING.


When this happens, each and every time, there is absolutely no warning, no error, nothing I can report. My screen flashes green for about a second, then my system beeps and shuts off. My controller just flashes and I have to turn the system on using the button on the system.

I did a support ticket with 2k. They asked all this information like which edition of the game, what my User ID is on the game, which system I was using, what email I used to sign up for information on the opening screen, what the problem is with my system. I filled all of that in, and my first response from 2k was a basic auto response about clearing cache, it may be an internet connection issue. Then the person told me if those basic things didn't fix it, to send him ALL THAT INFORMATION that I was forced to fill in just to make the support ticket in the first place.

That really didn't make any sense. Enter all this information to submit a ticket. Then my first response to my ticket asks me to enter all that same information again>? That was very frustrating.

We have to make more noise and don't stop creaating tickets or whatever... because this is happening to many people with Xbox Series X and it is inadmissible if they don't solve it, whoever is the responsible, 2k with the software or MS with the hardware or both (cos TBH it's so weird that I have no clue where the issue could be)...

In my case it is happening specially when playing MyNBA Online but also in PlayNow Online even though is less frequent there...

We have to make more noise and don't stop creaating tickets or whatever... because this is happening to many people with Xbox Series X and it is inadmissible if they don't solve it, whoever is the responsible, 2k with the software or MS with the hardware or both (cos TBH it's so weird that I have no clue where the issue could be)...

I'm regretting buying the Xbox period if I'm down $500... I'm more annoyed at 2K for not allowing cross-gen play. I only got the xbox to play 2k with friends online.

They would have to nerf next-gen for cross-gen to be possible. As we're seeing with eFootball. Definitely not worth it.

What do you mean? Cross-gen seemed to be working out fine for MLB The Show.

But that's not as much of an immersive experience as 2K/The City as far as I can tell.

I hope they do this. However I don't have much faith, since this happened to some users in 2k21 next gen and it was never fixed

Unfortunately 2k developers and/or community liaisons never even acknowledged the issue.

1) i created a ticket with 2k22.


2) it only happens to me playing ANY mode of 2k22 or Madden while ONLINE. either in an online environment (ie; free practice in an online CFM in madden) or an actual versus/coop/team-up game online in madden or 2k22 (i dont own F1 so i cant test that).


3) this was happening to me before on the 1st week of madden's release. then stopped. now it's back on madden since 2k22 started doing it.


4) i'm in the insider alpha skip OS build. there is a new OS build today at 5pm et. hopefully that helps/fixes it.


5) when it happens only a manual press of the xbox button on the console turns the console on. and i must unplug and replug in my usb drives or else xbox doesnt see them.

So frustrating. Same issues here. Have done the factory reset, the works and it still crashes. It's definitely been an issue for me in My Career, I did play MyTeam (single player) for a while yesterday and it never crashed but when I switch to My Career it crashed.

I'll open a ticket with 2K to keep some attention on it, though based on everyone else's experience it probably won't go anywhere. It happened to me less frequently on 2K21, frustrating to see it happening in 2K22 as well.

Probably a dumb question, because it's still the same game at the end of the day,
but I have the Legendary edition (digital so it really doesn't matter), does everyone else have the Legendary edition or just the standard version? Just trying to make sure there's not a pattern.
