While initially uninterested in quests/fashion/music, Quests are a great way to rack up a lot of VC and MVP points and is relatively fast to get through Quests. I do like that you unlock rotations, trade/FA influence, edit playbook very early into career.

Main problems are the legacy issues. Poor AI lineup logic, poor teammate defensive rotations, can't depend on teammates in general, poor team management. MyCareer still feels geared towards Online guys using it to grind their myplayers. It's still mostly about playing hero ball to win games or grinding for badges. It's better than last year from a point where last year it felt like the game ran through the post. You had guys like Horford or Whiteside get a ton of post opportunities last year to the point where I had to take post plays out of the playbook. This is is better in that regard, but still can't depend on teammates. They either take heavily contested finishes or heavily contested shots and get on cold streaks. I thought playing with someone like Dame or LaMelo would be fun, but it isn't. It feels like only teammates you can count on are primarily defensive wings or Centers. It feels like you have to play on Pro or All-Star to be able to count on teammates. I don't want an easy offline experience where we're blowing out every team like in previous seasons, but want more from my teammates. Haven't played on Al-Star yet, but I will try tonight. I just want a balanced experience where it's still a challenge to win, but still don't have to put it all on my player's shoulders.

One thing, I would like is for them to tone down blocking. Blocking feels OP this year. Even as a undersized PF and starting out barely upgrading block, it was easy to get blocks. And it's very easy for CPU to get blocks as well. It feels like any player with decent size and above can get high volume of blocks. Part of the reasons my teammates go cold quick is because they get blocked almost every time they drive.
I feel this on so many levels man.

I don't remember which 2k it was, but it was one of the 1st My Career launches: You could import your own custom adjusted roster & edit all the sliders.

Then you got drafted or selected a team undrafted (again can't remember lol)

But it was an unreal experience, I got picked up by the 2006 Heat and was battling the 1993 Suns and Barkley in my MyCareer with a slider set I felt gave a challenging but fun experience and I still remember the amount of fun I had going through those seasons.

I really hope they bring those possibilities back.

Think that was around 2k11-13 times you could do all that. Last year, I did a Player-Lock career using 2003 rosters. Only played a few games of it, but it was nice using rosters and being able to depend on teammates. Once 2k14 hit, the focus shifted towards online and offline MyCareer hit the backburner. Would love to use custom rosters or even the ability to use current NBA player.

It's not all bad. Grind to progress player is a lot quicker and builder has been good last 2 years. Main issue is teammates and AI in general. I understand potential issues with sliders. But I would be happy with difficulty levels only affecting your player and having CPU players play regularly. It feels like you have to play on All-Star max if you want to regularly depend on your teammates

Nah not at all, I've played almost solely on player-lock - I love it. Edit the roster, make your teammates comparable and smart. Nothing I love better than only getting 15 points in a game and my teammate rattles of 35 lol Feels SO GOOD. ESPECIALLY when we still lose and I feel like I let him down

So you can't sim games during the trade rumors quest? This blows.

Yeah, just have to do one by one. It won't let you sim through personal Quests. I simmed through about 20 games through trade rumors quest

I've noticed that the CPU is having trouble hitting shots. Star players still don't play like star's if they're your teammates. The mode still suffers legacy issues hero ball syndrome, poor a.i, bad lineups, bad trade logic, and not having full defensive settings. The quests are boring you barely get anything for completing them. For example what's the point of completing the city slam tournament if all you get is an ugly belt that holds no weight!!

Exactly what I said before. Though improvements helps, offline is still held back by legacy issues. The grind being lessened really helped. But, I'm already at the point where I am at most years in MyCareer. Where I'm just playing games for enjoyment instead of just "grinding". The issue is that legacy issues hold back the mode if you're just playing offline just to play.

It does feel like every year I think I should just do a Player-Lock. But, I like the single player focused practices/progression of MyCareer. If they can add those in MyNBA, that would be great. It would be nice to have teammates go off at times and not have to play hero ball to win
Funny, I thought the Brickley stuff was over once you unlocked Mamba Mentality. Just realized you can do drills as well. I could have maxed badges a lot sooner.

At this point MyCareer has gone beyond basketball and is now the one thing Ronnie2K said it wouldn't be and that's a Barbie dress up game". It's quite sad how brands like Crocs has became the main focal point over fixing core basketball issues. I agree I do like the single player focused practices/progression of MyCareer it's just a shame none of those elements are in MYNBA since there is a better experience with doing a player-lock.

I also don't like the fact you're always the number 1 pick no matter how good or poorly you perform in college and the G League.

                    Re: NBA 2K22 MYCAREER THREAD

About to make to switch to Player-Lock. The legacy issues of MyCareer always make it harder to player offline long term after you finish "grinding". I can never will myself to grind to 99 because after you get to about 92-93 OVR and max most badges, you aren't really getting any "better" after that. I just unlocked 95 OVR and now I would be just upgrading attributes that won't really make a significant change to my playstyle. Then having to deal with not being able to depend on teammates is always frustrating.

I might just do what I did last year. Where I made my playerlock a draft prospect and tried my best to draft him the next season. Last year, I used a 2003 roster. This time might try to find a good 1999 roster. It'll be nice to not have to go super saiyan to win games lol.

For all the MyCareer players here, do you also find HOF difficulty way too easy on this mode ?

Despite my teammates missing many wide open jumper, it's just too easy to defend the CPU and score on them on the pick and roll

Are they ever going to fix this?

Have they even acknowledged the issue?

                            - Waiting for PES to reclaim it's throne, looks like its going to be a long wait.

                            - 2022 update: It's dead.

For next gen it's under career then go to roster and then hit RT and it will bring up the edit playbook tab.
