I dropped MyCareer after that post. I don't mind the grind. That actually keeps me engaged in the initial part of the mode. It just when you get to the point where you're not getting any "better" and you're grinding just to grind. Then not being able to depend on teammates drag down the mode for me. Poor Team and Coach AI.

I'm leaning on skipping MyCareer and 2k23 in general next year. I probably only played it for a month before dropping it. I enjoy single player modes, but MyCareer just usually feels like the same experience every year. For me, I would like them to separate offline and online.
I rather them try to capture the NBA basketball experience rather than the cheesy made for TV storylines we've been seeing. Something that lasts throughout the rookie season, not just the preludes to rookie season we have been seeing since 2k18. 2k22's story lasted longer than the previous 4 stories, but it's something you can get throughout the first quarter of your rookie season.

I made it to a 96 overall and I feel like you don't get better as a player you're just grinding to grind. I made my exact build for a player lock experiment and the overall came out to be an 87.

After awhile the on court action just feels dry with replays being non existent, no coach interviews, no pre game city overlays. Not being able to count on your teammates and the poor A.I. just brings MyCareer down.

I do like the fact they gave us more defensive options like on ball defense, off-ball defense, matchups. Pressing right on the D-pad brings these options up, I just wish it was more in depth and that I can make this adjustments before games and during timeouts.

Least it is better than the original archetypes where you were nothing more than a glorified role player. But, it feels like competitive balance for Online will always take precedent. I always felt they should separate Online and offline. I still don't like the idea of starting out at 60 OVR because they know a large portion is willing to spend an additional $20-50+ to improve build(s). I always preferred Live's The One mode

The grind is what I like, but I don't want to grind just to grind with little benefit, especially with the flaws of the modes. Yes, I did like being able to use coach adjustments at any position. I just wish they would focus on the offline portion of MyCareer.

I've seen this suggested before but its not there.

I made a new build, my old file got corrupted!! I made a 2 way scoring machine SG, shades of Kobe, Booker, Bane. I'm playing w/ the latest rosters. I got drafted by the Pistons asked for a trade to the Spurs they had the highest interest in me.

I have to say I'm enjoying it alot more this time around, defense seems to be alot better I usually play on superstar, hof, but I noticed I've been getting some really good and close on pro difficulty.

              1. The ball handler hesitates so much to take outside shots and almost always forces his way to the basket (I play with Harden and he rarely does the step back 3-pointer, instead continuously trying to bulldoze his way into the paint).

              2. The same thing goes for catch and shoot. There has to be nobody in the relative area for even the best of shooters to take those shots.

              3. The tempo of the game is way too slow. The whole game revolves around defense. Getting buckets is nothing like it is in the NBA, and not even like it was in the early 2000s either.

I'm assuming there are no ways to fix any of this?

                Another question...

Most of these quest goals are BS. How much do you actually need them to maximize your player's talent and accomplishments?

Haven't played in 4 months, but from what I remember getting On Court Coach. That way you can call plays and can push the shoot button for teammates, so they will shoot on command.

Most of the Quests are BS. I just focused on the ones that give out VC Payouts. Some Quests are hard because it involves the personality traits that fluctuate based on interviews. It didn't feel like there was a lot of post game interviews unless you balled out

Is that option like something in settings or something you do in practice?

In game. I think that's the Luka quest that unlocks On-Court perk. Just pushing the directional buttons and shoot buttons for teammates

Where is that quest found? Doesn't make sense why a quest would dictate that.

It's been a few months, but I think that's a quest that comes along during the season and then you have to get 7 games of A teammate grade

Finally got around to reaching 99 last night. $0 spent. Could have reached it sooner if I didn’t spend VC on useless **** or when I decided to work on another build.

Made a dude focused on being like Derrick Coleman but doesn't have any pts in dunk. Somehow he throws it down sometimes, even off oops. I kinda wish I had made him taller, but 6'10 is aight.

Tryin to get him off indy, haha, spoiler vid of how my teammates are!

It's quite sad how brands like Crocs has became the main focal point over fixing core basketball issues. I agree I do like the single player focused practices/progression of MyCareer it's just a shame none of those elements are in MYNBA since there is a better experience with doing a player-lock.

I also don't like the fact you're always the number 1 pick no matter how good or poorly you perform in college and the G League.

this isnt true i got picked by houston cleveland and the gsw the key is dont play college and g league play 1 not both and u will be top 5 after that dont play any other event like chris berkley or draft combine i would say play g league and skip college so u can get the faster rep boost
