Re: NBA 2K22 MYCAREER THREAD
You get xp, vc... Pretty much everything park/rec gives you for the new single player rooftop mode.

Re: NBA 2K22 MYCAREER THREAD
I do remember seeing that. Now, I'm contemplating just focusing on that for now. I'm not as focused on the games. As far as progression goes, I unlocked 90 OVR. I'm a ways from that, but that's the goal. I want to get to a 90 OVR before I sim to 2nd season. So now, I might drop back down to 5 minutes quarters. Just so I can focus on music and fashion storylines, while still being able to do practice drills each game.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 MYCAREER THREAD
Yeah, so now I'm just focusing on getting some of the story Quests done for the VC. Most seem relatively quick. Its just that I have to play well enough in 5 minute quarters to get post game media scums. My playstyle better suited for longer quarters. I will stick to 5 minute quarters until I finish the fashion and music storylines. But, I'm definitely not playing on HoF once I'm done. Teammates become even more useless on HOF. Superstar felt better, but for now HOF is better for progressionLast edited by illwill10; 12-04-2021, 08:56 AM.Comment

That's what I figured. So, I'll just drop games to 5 minute quarters just so I can get through those storylines fast while still being able to work on badges in drills. That 75K VC will come in handy.

Also to level up fashion/corporate etc you can do the runway over and over
Corporate is understated elegance/casual cool

Re: NBA 2K22 MYCAREER THREAD
I don't play online, so some Quests I won't be able to complete. But, some I do need to work on. Like I need to work on Quests that give MVP points. I'm close to the 600,000 MVP quest that gives 5000VC. I only focused on Quests that gave immediate VC or the fashion/music Quests.
The Post game media scrums are tied to having good games. It's been a struggle for me last 4-5 games have been a absolute struggle. My first game with Portland was great, but ever since its been a struggle. It seems like if the team struggles, I struggle too. I'm okay with CJ struggling, but Dame has been terrible too. I don't get any calls ran for me, so I have to rely on spot ups. But, that's the only thing I'm good at on offense so far. We have got blown out the last 4 games and 2 of those blowouts came from OKC. I bumped down the difficulty from HOF to Superstar, but still can't do anything offensively. I think since I'm not getting post game interviews, it's stopping the story lines from popping up.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 MYCAREER THREAD
Think I just finished the music storyline. With that and other Quests, I just topped 1M MVP points. I just have to keep working Fashion Quests. With all the VC from those Quests and from Games, I'm very close to where I wanted get to OVR wise before I wanted to sim to the next season. I just have to figure out my offensive game. I just replaced some of the playcalls because none did a good job of creating open looks looks. My hope is that with a new team as the top guy, I will get more calls ran for meLast edited by illwill10; 12-06-2021, 05:59 PM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 MYCAREER THREAD
Finished my rookie season with my PF. Simmed about 3/4 of the season for the most part. But by focusing on Quests and practices between games I played, still was able to progress my player to a good point. It's funny, I played the last game of the regular season and it was probably the only game Damian Lillard actually had a good game lol.
Signed with the Hornets and made sure I requested Portland to go after Hornets pending free agents. I can now just focus mostly on playing games. I will focus more on adjusting team playbook and finding plays I can score in. MyCareer team logic has always been off. By trade deadline in rookie year, good chunk of players have been traded in deals that don't make sense. Rozier and Hayward were traded last year and with me requesting Bridges, Martin, and Their Center go to Portland, only Ball is the returning starter. We don't have a starting quality Center. But, that's why I like the ability to request trades. I never go after Superstars or even regular players. I like going after the 2k generated rookies. For the most part, they are one dimensional and mostly similar players scattered around. But, there are usually a few that are good. There are two I'm targeting immediately. One is a fast combo guard who is a 3 level scorer and the other is a 7'1 very athletic rim runner who can block shots. Currently, I think the starting lineup is Ball-Fournier-Oubre-Me-Rookie 7'2 Center(was Carey Jr.). I will play the first game, then sim games until we get those players. Ideally, I want to slide both rookies into the lineup and hope Oubre isn't a liability.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 MYCAREER THREAD
It seems so. It'll just continue with where ever you left with the Fashion and Music and the other City/Season Quests. It seems like once you hit level 10 and get the fashion/music show then that's the end of the storylines. I have to now answer Questions negatively just so I can get Free Spirit, Solo Player, and Flashy levels ypComment

Re: NBA 2K22 MYCAREER THREAD
As an offline MyCareer player, I do feel there have been improvements in this mode that make it less grindy, but offline is still held back by legacy issues. It does feel like the grind has been tempered back. It does feel a lot quicker to progress your players. While initially uninterested in quests/fashion/music, Quests are a great way to rack up a lot of VC and MVP points and is relatively fast to get through Quests. I do like that you unlock rotations, trade/FA influence, edit playbook very early into career.
Main problems are the legacy issues. Poor AI lineup logic, poor teammate defensive rotations, can't depend on teammates in general, poor team management. MyCareer still feels geared towards Online guys using it to grind their myplayers. It's still mostly about playing hero ball to win games or grinding for badges. It's better than last year from a point where last year it felt like the game ran through the post. You had guys like Horford or Whiteside get a ton of post opportunities last year to the point where I had to take post plays out of the playbook. This is is better in that regard, but still can't depend on teammates. They either take heavily contested finishes or heavily contested shots and get on cold streaks. I thought playing with someone like Dame or LaMelo would be fun, but it isn't. It feels like only teammates you can count on are primarily defensive wings or Centers. It feels like you have to play on Pro or All-Star to be able to count on teammates. I don't want an easy offline experience where we're blowing out every team like in previous seasons, but want more from my teammates. Haven't played on Al-Star yet, but I will try tonight. I just want a balanced experience where it's still a challenge to win, but still don't have to put it all on my player's shoulders.
One thing, I would like is for them to tone down blocking. Blocking feels OP this year. Even as a undersized PF and starting out barely upgrading block, it was easy to get blocks. And it's very easy for CPU to get blocks as well. It feels like any player with decent size and above can get high volume of blocks. Part of the reasons my teammates go cold quick is because they get blocked almost every time they drive.Comment
