Yeah a lot of ppl are casuals who play shorter minute quarters with fatigue off so they won’t know the difference. But for hardcore sim guys who is trying to emulate the real NBA, every little thing that is unrealistic is magnified for us lol

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
1. The Help D IQ of players ratings have a big impact on their ability to play help D.
2. Use the McLemore stepback for James Harden. Probably Doncic aswell but I want to check it out first.
3 Ive given a few wings who like to pop from mid range (Ingram, Hayward, Leonard, Klay, Booker, Durant, Middleton) some mid range plays. They're nice.

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Oh that's interesting how many ppg would you guess are being counted has pip like that on average?Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
I hear you but with the lack of fouls, PIP is a lost cause.

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Depends really, but if you look at the shot chart at the end of the game, the jump shots taken on the sides but outside of the paint are added as PIP at the end of the game stats summary page.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
That is true, I also think it’s a mechanical animation problem where too much space is taken by a player as they move. Wish 2K had better foot planting technology and better stat tracking for PIP.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Ive global edited out the catch and shoot badge which will allow me to raise the overall 3 point slider. Wants less opens go in. More contested go in. Also dropped the shot coverage impact to 25Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Interesting like shot contest I wonder if this is backwards lol. I have had shot coverage impact at 50 and averaging only about 40-41% FG. Just played a game with the slider at 35 and shot 37% then played a game with it at 65 and end up shooting 51% only second time in like 30 games doing 50% or better.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
If you want to see even more variation in the opposing CPU team’s offense, set every teams’s Offensive Focus to No Preference. When you do this, you will see players other than the super stars get more involved in the offense.

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
In MyNBA the CPU teams still refuse to sign 2nd rounders who arent stash away European players. You can select to control player options for all teams and manually sign them. I manually sign all the 2nd rounders. There are a few teams who may have too many players so I deselect them. This helps because it prevents teams from signing these same players as free agents to fill out their roster for more than their 2nd round contracts. Another benefit is that these players and low rated real players end up on 2 way contracts in the Gleague. You can see some decent prospects if you play/watch the Gleague.

Playbook: Standard Playbook
1: My custom roster is mostly all time teams full of legends. So I traded some star current players away to make room for said legends. Aside from gameplay issues, I’m assuming I’m doing my rosters a disservice by running playbooks designed for current teams (e.g keeping them as they are by default)? For example: I have Shaq on the Magic, which means the current playbook perhaps won’t favor a Center centric team. I’m wondering if “Standard playbook” would be smarter for me for that reason as well?
2: If you put standard playbook + raise global touches + put no preference for coaching, do you find out think that can prevent superstars from really shining or going nuts during games?Comment

Two questions for anyone with experience or knowledge here:

2. Superstars still get the majority of the touches no matter what you edit. I think the rating of the player makes a big difference on how many plays are being called for them rather than the Touch Tendency. I’ve tested it and put Middleton’s touch tendency at 99 while Giannis at 1, and still Giannis was getting the majority of the touches until I made the changes to Standard Playbook and No Preference.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
1. I just find certain team’s plays books too overpowering for their real life star player. Example, the Bucks playbook in 2K22 makes the coach call 99.9% of the plays for Giannis on offense. But if you have it on Standard Playbook, you’ll see other players get more involved but Giannis is still the main focal point at like 75% instead of 99.9%.
2. Superstars still get the majority of the touches no matter what you edit. If you think about it, let’s say you start a Bucks MyNBA and Giannis gets traded. You’re still using a Bucks playbook designed to run plays through the PF when maybe your PF at the time isn’t a star player.
Running “standard playbook” may be the best bet for anyone running modified rosters and/or MyNBA seasons for multitudes of reasons.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Nice. Thanks. Makes me think that using current team playbooks for teams I’ve modified isn’t smart.
