Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Ugh I’m still having issues with getting Middleton more involved in the offence and Giannis less. I’ve tried everything from lowering Giannis’ touch tendency and raising Middleton’s to lowering Giannis’s drive tendencies and Shot Tendencies yet still the CPU calls the majority of plays for him and not enough for Middleton. It’s almost like it’s hard coded…very frustrating2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
I agree. But it needs to fit their scale as well to make sure those percentages play out the same. It seems to change every year slightly too. So let’s say in 21 a player needed to at least have a 75 to trigger a stepback 3 but the next year it needed to be 90 or 100.
I don’t think they know their own ranges as they vary year to year and testing isn’t done on gold game for tendency numbers. I’m assuming and guessing but pretty obvious at the same time.
The other problem is some things have to blend together. For example to execute a stepback 3 you need to have straight 3 tendency in a certain spot, stepback jumper in a certain spot, pull up 3 in a certain spot, as well as contested 3 in a certain spot, Play discipline has to be in a certain spot, drive tendency has to be in a certain spot. All of those just to get 1 specific action. Crazy right?!
A lot of factors to take in… lol
2K needs a separate manual for all this. And I believe the community would really appreciate this and would probably pay for it.

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
The shot contest sliders seems to be backwards. I played 2 games with it at 0 and they where the 2 lowest and worst shooting games I have seen form the CPU and I noticed just over all a lot more shots being contested and like hard shots being taken by cpu has a result. Has a result I wonder if upping this can make it easier to get sold mid rang looks.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
In an attempt to reduce the number of plays called for Giannis by the CPU, I edited the Bucks playbook so that Middleton would get ISOs. I added ISO 13GO in which the PG would pass to the SF on the wing for an ISO in theory, it even showed it being played out in the playbook screen for Middleton. What was odd, when the actual game started and the CPU called the ISO 13GO, the play was for Giannis to get the ball on the wing to ISO… lmao I’m so lost on how to get the CPU to call plays for Middleton.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

It does not matter who the play in theory is for. ISO 13 means that the player initiating the play (so usually the PG=1) passes to the selected player (standard: SF=3) and then lets him isolate. If you now call the play for your center (giannis) then 1 passes to the 5. If you call it for your PG, then someone else will initiate the play (so maybe your sg or sf) and passes it to your PG.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
I’ve been testing out roster and slider tendencies since I’ve gotten the game and I would like to share some interesting findings that will make the game more enjoyable and realistic.
Setting every single players’ Touch Tendency to 50 will yield more dynamic play by the CPU and you will see a lot more variety of plays and role players getting more involved in the game.
When I looked at the default Touch Tendency for the Boston Celtics, I saw that Tatum and Brown’s touches were at 99. I know for a fact that those two are the main go to players for the Celtics in real life, but that doesn’t mean that every play should be called for them. When I played the CPU Boston Celtics, Tatum was jacking up shot after shot after shot. Putting up 29 attempts by the end of the game. None of the other players were involved in the plays/game and tbh it really got boring seeing the CPU call plays for Tatum all the time. Now that I have all the player’s Touch Tendency at 50, I saw the CPU involved Horford, Smart, Schroder and others more even though Tatum was still the main go to scorer.
Feel free to add on your discoveries in this thread so that we can share our tips and perhaps ground breaking findings to make 2K22 more realistic and fun for SIM heads.
The spreadsheet can be used by anyone, feel free to use it for yourself if you are interestedComment

Originally posted by SlimFast_GymRatDid you try decreasing his iso tendencies, but increasing everyone else’s (entire team), so they eclipse his?
What about making him a 2nd option within the POE?
If those failed, it’s beyond me.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Startling Discovery:
So these past few days I’ve been playing around with roster attributes, sliders and badges in order to get the CPU to call less plays for Giannis and more plays for Middleton and other players. Today I even lowered all of Giannis’s attributes to the lowest level, lowered all his tendencies to the lowest level and removed all his badges. But still the CPU would run plays after plays for Giannis…In a last ditch attempt, I changed Milwaukee’s playbook from Bucks to the Standard playbook and long behold the CPU started to run more plays for Middleton and other players!
I will be doing more testing with the Standard Playbook but it’s a startling discovery IMO that the amount of plays being run for a certain player is tied to the team’s playbook and not any of the rosters’ attributes and/or tendencies.2018-2019 NBA Champions!Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Useful Findings
Someone mentioned it earlier but global edit everyone's touches tendency to 50.
I've only tested with a few teams but opens up plays for other players. It went from what felt like 3 plays to open playback.Comment
