    Re: 2k23 The Rec

I can't with these flamboyant buddy ballers. Every single year. Can't believe 2K still doesn't have a 'no squads' Rec. They're worse than noobs 'cause they do it intentionally.
Imagine d/rdn your friends so much that you only pass to people in the party. Down by 30.
    Couldn't be me.

Cg is cancer, stuck wit the other poor degenerates haha nah but for real almost every game anymore people are hard selling.

I get my rage out by double tapping tri to rocket it from inbound, but I think I said that. Lol other day hit a dude and we got the ball back cuz he went back court. It’s really unbearable. I can’t imagine ng is that bad. I should be on p5 but I already spent on dood and I need to know when my pg is getting it.

Every big needs a pg! If u ain’t got a pg u prol aren’t a good big. Hahaha. Nah but plenty of people wanna be my pg cuz I do whatever but this dude is good, plays real, and gives me touches. Ppl on cg will sell just for giving post touches even tho I’m a dimer n I pass as soon as anyone can get a shot.

Regardless, to show how cancer it is, he plays w o me, too, and he’s got like a c- avg grade cuz people just freeze u, and he’s a pg lol but his build gets him at sf a lot. Gg 5’11 sf. He can play it no issue but I can’t start inb to him or people again start selling.

It’s like ptsd just tryin to keep people from selling. It’s so bad it seems like it’s always one team or the other and If u count quits I dono if I ever finished a full 5v5 yet.

Also I’ve given that up but ppl are so cancer that they got pm off. Haha it’s always funny if I wanna say gg cuz some people I really feel like they did amazing stuff, or a big who tries to go at me with some success. Then it’s like due to settings… haha I even added people just to say gg but some of that is blocked too.

Everyone plays to win in theory but it only takes a little to make them go off rails. I’ve come back 16-4 games cuz people come out with awful strategy then we adapt. Nowadays everyone quits or everyone decides they are gonna take matters into their own hands. And say one time I wanna take the ball up the court as a dimer big, everyone is gonna rush me or someone is gonna get caught off guard ( and I don’t do it unless nobody else is passing,) what happens… time out. Haha. I generally outlet to passers cuz I can get my asts in half court, but it’s not unusual for me to lead team in assists. Not with like 12 either but like 6. It’s like ughhh. It’s well balanced by the games where I get nothing cuz I never touch the ball. I said it last yr and I’ll say it again, if I end with 0 assist, the ball movement was soooo awful I prol should have just quit.

            Re: 2k23 The Rec

Got the game last night for switch. Spent the whole night trying to find any sort of jumper. I made a 6'6 Jordan/Kobe build. 80 defense, 80 3 and 80 layups, dunks, and handles. Immediately felt undersized. My next build is going to have to be taller. But it's been since 2k16 you could have a guard at 6'6 with everything 80s. I didn't care for how the builder makes you invest in Standing Dunk if you want a higher driving dunk.

Nothing looks super major different with the badges, I should get some decent ones eventually.

Haven't got a rec game yet, I went into the rec locker room way late in the evening. New season starts today so hopefully I can get some real games.

Feels like this is the most HOOPS version of 2k I've played in a looooong time. The Park builds are a little crazy but ill get into the cheese later. I really just wanted to give Luka a good running 2. Luka is amazing this year. Even better than last year when he was the cover athlete... Lol dudes Dotting all around the court. Everyone on the Mavs team feels more like their real counterparts also. Hardaway been broke for 2 years since I been playing with him. He comes off the bench and lights it up. Just made the starting line up in career and I'm already averaging 25ppg on decent splits with hardly any badges. Passing feels good, defense feels slow but more grounded. Like I can guess wrong, but guessing right feels rewarding.

My few Park games I played were mostly with ransoms and they don't know I was a legend last year. Seen a few buddies from last year but I didn't play particularly well in any of these games. But it definitely feels like a different game. I thought current gen wouldn't get much love, but it's the best it's been in years I feel.

Finally got my 3 to an 80 and slapped on Rudy Gay base and went 2/3 my last career game, hit my first green in the park.

It just kills the whole vibe of sucking and trying to build a good jumper then slapping a base that's been cheese since 2k13 on and feeling like the last 7 hours were just a waste tho. Why implement these new jump shot creator requirements when people can literally just end up using the same 5 jump shot bases that are good every year?

                  Re: 2k23 The Rec

Been a week now. I can splash in career. I even started playing 1 on 1s to get my online timing down. I'm greening every shot in my court. I go to the practice gym and start trying my timing there. Green. Green. Green. I practice my pull ups. I practice my turn around. Green. Green. Green.

I've gotten almost ally badge points. Right now I'm rocking catch and shoot silver, green machine gold, and Volume Shooter HOF. I've had some Park games where I go 2/5 from deep. I'll take it.

But it's those games that they leave me open early, I can't buy a bucket after that. I'm one of the worst shooters on 3 on 3 there ever was.

It's like I get out there and all my timing is just jacked up. It's the SLIGHTLY LATES that really kill me. I mean, every other year yellow, white makes at least went in SOMETIMES. This year it's green or nothing. Who wants to play like that? I wouldn't care if whites had a THIRTY percent chance of going in. At LEAST they would go in SOMETIMES.

I'm going insane man. And the worst part? I can't test it. There's not a single place I can go to test it. I have to sit there and brick game after game trying to adjust my timing. It's horrible man.

What's worse? Everything ELSE about this game is amazing! Defense feels fantastic for the most part. I can body on the perimeter and I can play hands up with my 6'9 and it actually works. I do wish layups were a bit more forgiving but all in all I really can hoop this year.

I just wish I wasn't WORSE than Russel Westbrook out here, man. It's wearing me down, honestly.

If there was a way I could figure out how to adapt it would be okay. But I'm not about to make a 99 three point character and come out here shooting airballs either. I still wanna be able to get to the cup and mix it up.

I get to all my spots. Midrange is supposed to be easier but I brick all my fades with Shot creator takeover and Middie Magician.

                  I'm just so frustrated man.

Don't tell me GET GOOD either. Every other year they've let whites go in. The fraction of a millisecond I'm off doesn't mean I don't know how to play basketball.

That's why Real Player Percentage was so amazing. I could just go play. Sure... I'd miss wide open and anything contested was a brick. But it's not like I keep costing the team the game because they keep having to play 2 on 3.

I hate this feeling so much.

                    Re: 2k23 The Rec

WHOOOOOOOO!!! just played a 1v1 game and went 3/3 from deep and was able to consistently green my learners and fades.

First career game was kinda OK but I needed to see it in an online environment.

Still took me a couple games to get it down.

But apparently the ONLY WAY to get your release point at the apex of the jumper is to go Very Late. Which, to me, was my entire issue. I don't wanna release until I can snap my wrist and do the follow thru. I had known this for a couple days but didn't have the right base/release for MY release point. It's a "cheese" jumper, got it off YouTube. But I couldn't run it with my release speed all the way up or any other controller setting besides Very Late.

Omgggggh these kids gonna cry now.

I'm confident that I can get the timing down good enough for Park now as I green EVERYTHING in my gym, the 1v1, the practice facility.

Havent tested it on 3v3 but I'm excited!

This dude been NASTY on defense too. He don't finish like I like, but I'd been so focused on getting my shooting down. Now I can learn the dunk meter and truly be unstoppable!

Oh... And I'm back over .500 in the park.

I been dominating the Galleon. Some cheeses go in there and I hold my own on most of them, but the turdies been helping me lab my shots for 3 days.... Lmfao

194 games. 23.7 from deep. Lmfaooook HOW SWAY

Is that the best place to test? I always thought it was there mamba court or maybe they about the same. I know last year it was definitely the mamba court for me

Got a new problem. Lol now everyone's used to me bricking. Even people that would play with me for my defense and passing refuse to let me shoot. Last 3 games I went 3/7 I believe. Not terrible... But with Volume Shooter HOF I could have hit all those in the same game easily and done better.

If I get 3 shot attempts that doesn't justify having the badge at HOF level. You'd need at least 4-5 shots to get the bang bang bang type. But if you brick the first one they don't trust you.

I wish Switch had voice chat cuz I'd be screaming at people like IM OPEN I HIT MY FIRST ONE WTFFFFFFFF

Still feels like it takes me a bit longer than I'd like to release the shot, keep getting red early. But I'm scared if I just go to Late timing imma throw the whole progress off. I CAN green and that's the key, right?

3/3 last game, go 1/5 the next game. THAT I CAN LIVE WITH. When I was going 1/5 every game that was frustrating.

This dude Naaaaaaasty now tho. 93 driving dunk with the threat to shoot? Woof.

I'm a handful on both ends at 6'9

                              Bruh...

I ain't scared of no one no more. I don't know the rankings anymore but I got my silver yesterday. Couple dudes got their Gold ranking and you see all the roaches scatter when they get in the spot. Lol even a couple times my teammates got off the spot, I sat there and made them come back.

I been on a tare today. Started off 3 games over .500 this morning. I'm 115-101 right now.

I've played all 3 spots, I'm a problem 1-3. I haven't mastered the dunk meter yet. Got all year for that.

But it's HILARIOUS how this park game has devolved this year.

Even the super sweaties know shooting isn't as consistent this year. So if I'm the 2 I step up on all shooters, clank. Easy buckets in transition cuz I got a decent rebounder. When I played PG a couple games I had 2 bigs who couldn't shoot. Luckily we didn't get any try hards, but I'm still throwing lobs like I'm on my PG. If they get the offensive board I'm greening top of the key kick outs. Beautiful ball.

But see me at the 3 tho... Lmfaoooo

I had a post scorer who was giving me the business ain't gonna lie. But he REFUSED to come out on me. I hit 3 in a row that game. Then when they're about to lose, he closes out and I go baseline and reverse slammed on the 2 smalls. game time.

Boy.... They don't want it now. I was trash for one week. I got my receipts, bruh.

STILL AINT EVEN GOT THIS DUDE TO A 99 AND I GOT 3 MORE SHOOTING BADGE POINTS.

Tried to run a couple games on my SG. He doesn't have the badge points for shooting that my SF does but I wanted to see if I liked his ball handling more. I'm faster on him, for sure, but that little bit of ball handling doesn't make up for the size of my SF. My SF feels unstoppable. That 2 guard was fun in career, for sure. Little bit more ball handling let me run the PNR better to get my shot off. But I'll take the size and all around defense. I specialized in perimeter defense on the 2 guard, foregoing inside defense and offensive rebounding.

I have the potential for everything 80 on defense, but right now only my blocks and defensive rebounding are maxed at 80. Inside defense and steal are still at 70. But when I have everything at 80 and I figure out the badge load out I want (have all my badge points but I wanna see if I wanna favor perimeter D instead of like Chase down Gold) then this dude will truly be a force.

I'm GOOD on defense now, but steals, blocks, inside defense all maxed at 80?!?!
