Re: NBA 2K23 Patch 5 Addresses Shooting, Court Floor Visual Issues and More - Patch N

I’m seeing both myself and the CPU miss a ton of wide open shots which is interesting since the patch notes said they adjusted it.

I’m not sure how you balance it to get some to miss. It seems as I adjust sliders it goes from terrible to can’t miss and there is no in between.

Not to beat a dead horse but this seemed fine before that December update. Since then it’s all over the place.

My current setting are All-Pro base. Shot Impact to 15 for both. 3’s at 57 for both.

The other issue I’m seeing is because they are shooting so bad it makes the Offensive Rebounds through the roof for CPU. I already have it at 35. Going to have to lower it more.

Lastly, there doesn’t seem to be variation. Every team shoots bad and every team gets a ton of Offensive rebounds.

    This is Real FG%

They must ruin these games so when the next one launches, it can appear better than the last one. That’s the only excuse I can make for such ineptitude to ruin such a great game. That’s the only way they can get around the fact that gameplay on 10 year old games is better.

If 2K games played as they did at launch, they’d all be great games for the most part, which means the next versions couldn’t market themselves as “better.”

Now what they do is release something amazing at launch, then destroy it, then next year release basically the exact same game they did at launch the previous year, but we’re all so desperate and standards are so dropped that we’re like “OMGZZZZ BEST 2K EVER!!!!” when the next one launches. Rinse and repeat.

Yes I've done that but are so many players that wear headbands and they are not in the game

Bad cpu 3 point been an issue like sub 25% every game. Not sure how to fix. Tried for years.

Now the cpu doesn’t envelop itself on drives. It’s still better than before, give it a sec. But yea lower contest, raise speed curve, awareness, attempt 3, some ticks on 3 success too, still too low. The one thing you can shoot for is to make them jack threes in offense which actually go in. The problem with overall 3 pt is stifled d for 22 seconds and the contested shot. And that happens like 15 times a game heh.

The shooting took a decent hit. I think bumping up the mid/3 point sliders by 5 largely cured it. I think the cpu has to be at least 70 for 3 point shooting or they suck. Using 72 right now and I think it’s good.

Your experience is your experience. Wasn’t necessarily responding to your post.

I said this before, but hopefully the cpu goes back to rp% for future iterations, Their shot making will always be on the spottier side with timing imo

Jalen McDaniels doesn't have a headband option even though he wears one IRL and he is literally wearing on in his player portrait.

I've gotten more competition out of the CPU by upping their awareness all the way to 99 (off/def). Lowering the effects of my contests on them and upping their 3pt shooting. Also to keep it realistic I lower their Pass Accuracy, so they aren't getting a shot off on every possession.

I play Hall of Fame and this prevents the CPU from shooting under 30% most games unless I have a dominant defensive wing lineup in the game.

It's tough because running with my Nets, the lineup of Clax, Ben, Bridges, and Finney-Smith are impossible to score on consistently for the CPU. So the game becomes too easy.

Not sure of that but I think there is a new fade away jumpshot.

I feel like if I played HoF I could take a team of 5 60s and hold the cpu to under 40% at least. That actually makes it harder imo. Well I play MC mostly, but superstar Mc doesn't stifle itself. Maybe next year HoF will be able to score against itself, but this year, they are brickan. It's like they don't understand the kind of contests that HoF is gonna ultimately give them.

I've seen Superstar cpu cook, too, for real haha. I like it when people drive and get the body ani and score opposed to getting just smushed by the defender and red missing.

And yea I build my teams to stop the cpu haha.
