Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Videos
That one body type, sure. It definitely looks more accurate than the current Kobe body type, but that was the 1st of 3 body types back then. 2k has hundreds more face scans and face models that are more accurate now along with many other details that didn't exist back then. On the whole, 2k24 looks vastly better than 2k14 did.
Still disagree, here's 2k24 Michael Jordan. But we'll have to agree to disagree I guess.

Why is it all screenshots of nba2k24 are all so dark! Lighting has taken a huge hit!
I have to turn the brightness up on my phone just to see what it is everytimeComment

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Videos
I this looks exactly the same lol. 2k and madden are just putting out the same **** every year it feels like. With minor adjustments.
And I enjoy both. But it hasn't ever felt truly next Gen to me.

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Videos
I'm noticing a lot of players that look too thin especially their arms.. Shaq, Donavan Mitchell & CP3 immediately come to mind. A lot of players lower body are off as well (James Harden, etc.) 2k really needs to implement something similar to the Sapien tech that Madden uses for their player models. 2K does a great job with player faces but we also need full body scans. BRING BACK FULL PLAYER EDITOR so we can modify these things..Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Videos
In terms of gameplay improvements, it's something you notice more if you go back to older games or if you skip a year or two in-between releases. I haven't really played Madden since 22 and once I started a game in Madden 24 I noticed a difference in feel and even visuals to an extent (they changed player models and animations since I last played). It's still Madden, but an improved Madden.
2K is similar. You can go back to an old 2Ks and the similarities will be evident, but chances are the improvements that you took for granted will stand out too.Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Videos
I also want to throw this out there. 2K and, I believe, most other sports games (if not all) are some of the only games running at native 4k, 60fps on consoles. While that's not an excuse for things like body models and player likenesses not being better and more accurate, it could be a reason why it seems like 2k and other sports games have already maxed out in terms of graphics.
There is probably a case that they could lower the native resolution and use some upscaling techniques to keep the game looking nearly as sharp while improving other aspects of the visuals, but, as of now, they're opting for the sharpest image while maintaining 60fps.Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Videos
Yes, the increased power this generation for 2K just went towards native 4K which is extremely demanding (let alone 60 fps). There is a good reason why a lot of developers are using dynamic upscaling because the resulting image quality (sharpness) is genuinely just as good and gives extra headroom for increased raw graphical fidelity like asset quality, shadows, lighting, etc.Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Videos
More broadcast, more pro play. Not sure if it’s already posted.
Does look like it’s going to feel pretty similar to last year, but proplay + adjusting collision sliders should help in myleague/era’s.
Proplay definitely helps show the individuality of the more dominant players, especially how they move around the court, get to their spots, and score. Donovan mitchell, SGA, and Jaylen brown are the highlights of the video. Also noted that Kyrie is now wearing Anta as he would in real life.Comment

Re: NBA 2K24 Gameplay Videos
I dunno if it’s arena specific to the kings but I like the smoky effect 2K23 has. It adds a dynamic atmosphere. Also it really seems like outside of adjusting those filters we’re talking pretty much identical graphics. I wonder if any arenas in 2K24 maintain that smoky effect?
