Re: 2K24 Graphics comparison vs 2K23
However, last year, I was "banned" for this forum for 3 months, just because I criticized the game's graphics (NBA 2K22) even though in the same post, I had praised NBA My Eras.
I don't want revenge, just explaining why I talked about being blocked.Comment

Re: 2K24 Graphics comparison vs 2K23
This year I decided not to buy it, I preferred to look for reviews, videos, information on this and other forums...
Now, you tell me I can't criticize the game for not having it?
Bro, have you noticed how you just won't accept me criticizing the game???
Let's do both of them and the other users of this forum a favor? IGNORE EVERYTHING I POST, I WILL DO THE SAME TO YOU.
My discussions with you add absolutely nothing! You don't want to argue, you just think about attacking me. I don't have the time or patience for that. That was my last reply to you, ok? Be happy and forget me!Comment

In recent years (NBA 2K22 and 2K23) when I criticized the game, until I was kicked off the forum, you were one of the guys who said to me: "if you hate the game, why buy it?".

Lol…… that’s fine, but I’m not following why u hated the game the last few years, and this year u finally listened and stopped buying a game u hate, however u can’t help yourself from going to any platform that allows u to spew your hatred for a game u finally gave up on once and for all? It just doesn’t make sense to meComment

Re: 2K24 Graphics comparison vs 2K23
The Show for baseball, 2k for basketball, Madden for football.
We can all say don't support it or a company should make a non licensed game, but the reality is those won't sell. Why? Because people want to play with the players and teams they see.
All that said, let's not get it twisted. Offline NBA 2k is still probably the best representation of its sport and it does still look good. You can geniunely have some fun with this franchise, microtransactions and online be damned. The closer we keep getting to the uncanny valley with face scans & ProPlay though leads to the art/presentation shortcomings standing out more, hence these threads. Maybe one day Sony will decide to jump back into the ring or another company, but until then this is all there is.Last edited by lakers24; 09-12-2023, 09:50 PM.Comment

2K24 Graphics comparison vs 2K23
Just to clear this up, There are plenty here who have been here 5 plus years, Haven’t had one positive word say about 2K or other games and haven’t been banned once.
While I’ll never understand it (I didn’t buy Madden this year, I don’t feel the need to go to that forum yearly and let everyone know how much I don’t like it), it’s not breaking TOS to criticize the game.
What is though, is attacking other users or developers. I can’t speak to anyone’s particular situation, but those are the primary causes of vacations around these parts…there’s plenty of room on Twitter for non productive conversation.
but let’s get back to the threads topicLast edited by The 24th Letter; 09-12-2023, 04:49 PM.Comment

Re: 2K24 Graphics comparison vs 2K23
If we're being honest, it's the same reason people have continually bought Madden year in and year out since the PS2 despite the countless issues. There are no other options out there for these sports. In the PS2/Xbox and even PS360 era to start there were at least one other option in the sport, even if it sucked. Now, there's only one per sport:
The Show for baseball, 2k for basketball, Madden for football.

I LIKE NBA, NBA 2K is my ONLY ALTERNATIVE. I have my "rights" to buy the game, play, and still complain as much as I want, because in fact, I'm not satisfied with it.
But what will I do? Play FIFA? I love is Basketball and NBA! Actually, 2K is the only way....
I dont hate the game, just hate ART of the game. 99% of my issues is artistic!Comment

Re: 2K24 Graphics comparison vs 2K23
Stuff like this infuriates me!
Man think about how much better the game could look if the Art team wasn’t forced to incorporate unnecessary, non-hoop related, crap like this in the game. I bet they don’t even enjoy it. It’s just what they’re instructed to do…If it was up to them, I bet we’d get more visual gems related to actual NBA portion of the game. That city/neighborhood needs to be abolished immediately.Last edited by KobeDropped81; 09-12-2023, 05:48 PM.Comment

Literally why is an NBA player even having to use a laundromat? You mean to tell me my player too broke to afford a washer machine?

Imagine getting the dream job to work on 2k only to be assigned creating dryers

I personally just can’t accept that graphics on a new game are WORSE than the game it replaces.
When I first saw pics of 2K24 I was like ok they clearly changed nothing with the player model graphics and it looks identical with some lighting tweaks. I can at least accept that. But regressing graphics especially on the court which is like 70% of what you look at on the screen during a game is a tough pill to swallow. Even considering considering all the improvements and additions otherwise (especially considering the other improvements actually).
Player editor screen as well shouldn’t be less satisfying and high quality to look at, either.
Those clips of crypto say it all. While the super dark lighting of 24 does happen to stumble into matching real life crypto darkness, otherwise the colors are all off. The wood is white and unfinished while 23 has a sort of pink gloss reflective hue that matches the real court.Comment

How does an NBA game leave the jerseys without movement, the courts without reflections and spend time placing CROCS, WASHING MACHINES and CELEBRITIES on the side of the courts?
If they delivered the NBA stuff, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
But actually, its unacceptable! I'm glad, this year, more of you are bothering with this issues, because 2K has been doing this for years!Comment

Re: 2K24 Graphics comparison vs 2K23
2K could make 2 games, one online, like GTA Online, and another, just for fans who play offline, the offline game wouldn't even need to be updated every year... I would be very happy, because today, the online game DESTROYS the offline experience.Comment

Re: 2K24 Graphics comparison vs 2K23
SpoilerMy point is just to confront when some here say: "Okay, the graphics are ugly because they cut the reflections to put more content in the game or to make the game run better".
This is not true! The game continues to have frame issues, from what I've been reading. In other words, we can't accept the excuse that we have less reflexes for the game to run solidly at 60fps.
It's just 2K's disregard for offline content. It's simple, their focus is on PARK, there, the uniforms DON'T EVEN MOVE!
They don't really care anymore about jerseys physics and reflections on the courts. Today I saw a video from 2K24 where a player threw the ball at the backboard and then Anthony Davis did an Alleyup!
It's a move that doesn't exist in real life, only in 2K PARK. Guys no longer care about the real NBA, but only about the universe they created... it's sad.
Are you talking about an off the backboard alleyoop or am I misunderstanding? Because not only has that been done in the NBA (both from one player to another as well as self alley-oops) but I've done that in 2k games as early as 2k3, 2k4.
Unless you are saying the AD caught it off the back board but, instead of dunking it, he passed the ball to someone else for an alley-oop. Which is over the top, but also
We all (at least us slightly older heads) remember how awesome this was and it didn't even involve the backboard.Last edited by scottyp180; 09-12-2023, 09:01 PM.Comment
