Man, I just had a game doing what you suggested. Still a little too easy for me to get the basket, but that’s with Curry and LeBron. Everybody else I had to work the ball movement to get to the rim and help defense was a lot better. It’s not perfect, but I can tolerate it. Good finding, my friend, good finding.

You can also tweak sliders to get much better help defense and close outs. And the help defense option under Coach Sliders can be increased to trigger more help defense as well.

Are you talking about the Help Defense global sliders that can be tweaked, or other sliders as well? I've also tried tweaking Agility, what have you tried?

I have most teams set to 85 to almost 100 on help D.

I bumped up close out and it seems to help a lot, but I’m still able sometimes just to get to the rack with no rotation from CPU.

I really try to avoid running five out.

Sometimes they will get in my shirt. Sometimes it will let me blow them.

I can’t get defensive player matchup keys to work. Ex I tried the make him give it up on catch. And it never triggered

what never triggered? "give it up on catch" is just a presetting that changes a lot individual settings. which of those individual settings didnt trigger?

From my understanding give it up on catch used to mean that would double the player I had it set to and force the ball out of his hand. I didn’t see it trigger

Man I’m trying to figure out why every cpu player shoots so well. I noticed they never had bad timing feedback on their shots. The second thing is my guys always get caught on off ball screens. Ex if you’re playing Dallas , how do you setup your defense? Do you go through coach scheme or individual menu, etc.

Manual switch to defend off ball. There is a whole thread on it. It also helps in transition. However, I don’t know how to stop the 3 point shooting. I keep getting smoked out there.

I’m old school. I grew up on games where you had no sliders, I just feel like it’s kinda cheating.

I am the same. Most times I won’t play the game if I have to touch sliders

Interesting way to look at this. The solution is right there. I’m guessing you guys don’t use custom rosters either? Missing out on a whole lot of greatness out there with this mindset, in my opinion.
