Also, pretty sure tireless scorer has nothing to do with the stamina of the players over the course of the game. It just boosts scoring odds when that little turbo boost bar on the player is flashing or even just halfway gone, which is a lot of the time. It pops up for me on dunks, layups, twos, threes, literally every type of basket even in the very beginning of the game. -
Re: Badging Thread
Given that people tend to play players less minutes than the player can handle, because people do platoon subs, Tireless Scorer should be lower priority than other badges, unless the player is one you'll be ripping a lot of dribble moves with.
And I think a Center is one of the best guys to have Pick Pocket, because it can be such a big part of post defense. Especially when playing against an overpowering physical force like Shaq, one of the best ways to defend the paint is to rip the ball when the opponent goes for a post spin or drop step.
Tireless isn't really for long term stamina. It reduces the shot penalty you take when putting up a shot when your turbo bar is low. Its great for post up Cs. When you're banging in the post your turbo bar drains pretty quickly plus your matchup will most likely have bruiser. You'll find yourself with low stamina quite often.
For a card like Ewing tireless scorer should be a priority.Comment

Re: Badging Thread
I sniped Ralph Sampson for 100k and man is he impressive. He feels like an elite center with his size, hof brick wall, rebounding and animations. He finishes everything inside if he has position and when open can hit from all over.
Here's what he comes with and the couple I added, thoughts on the last 4 slots?
Lob city finisher
Brick wall
Pick and roller
Postspin
Drop stepper
Dream like up and under
Flashy passer
Break starter
Putback King
Hustler rebounder
Defensive stopper
Rim protector
Bruiser
Dimer
Tireless

Re: Badging Thread
I forgot about Catch and shoot that is a must for sure. So it's going to come down to 3 last slots between these?! I'm kinda leaning toward the last 3 since i dont think I'll be shooting a bunch of jumpers with him but still undecided lol
Pick and popper
MDE
Relentless > don't see this light up on my bigs that much
Acrobat
Pick pocket > he's got an 85 steal averaging almost 2 a game

J.R. Smith is one of my favorite players, and his new Amy card is a beast. I'm going to get my hands on it one way or another, and there are plenty of slots for badges. I narrowed it down to 9 that I think could be useful. Which six would you add?
Dimer
P&R Maestro
Rim Protector
Pick Pocket
Acrobat
Relentless Finisher
Bruiser
Pick & Popper

Hmm if you had to choose between Tear dropper/Acrobat/Relentless which way would you go?

Re: Badging Thread
Pops up for me on every single contact dunk I make, with both small and large players. It probably just increases the chance of dunk success. A player without it feels much less able to muscle his way past someone. Also applies to all contact layups.Comment

Re: Badging Thread
Most people do read it this way, and people are adamant enough that I've just decided to go with the flow and assume it's true. (But...still actually doubt this is definitely true.)
One could say that it does definitely boost odds of completion, even if it only affects Stamina drain from contact. Particularly if it blunts short-term Stamina drain, on contact. It's reasonable to assume that there will be numerous instances of a player being near-empty on short-term Stamina, with contact on the way to the basket kicking him into the red flashing deficit state. If Relentless prevents this, then it should be boosting completion odds, as well as blunting Stamina drain.
But, really...for contact dunk completion, the more relevant badge is/should be Posterizer. The description is quite explicit: "Will succeed at dunking on opposing defenders more often than others." And the goal to reach to get it in MyCareer is attempt of 15 contact dunks in a season.Comment

Re: Badging Thread
I don't think we've covered Diamond Pete Maravich yet. I picked him up a few weeks ago, not sure if I'd keep him. Still not sure if he's really my cup of tea, in terms of being an A-Team Starter, but feel sure that he can always have a roster spot on my A-Team, due to him being a shooting savant.
Card: Diamond Pete Maravich
Comes With:
(Hall of Fame Badges in Bold)- Catch & Shoot
- Corner Specialist
- Deep Range Deadeye
- Difficult Shots
- Limitless Range
- Mid-Range Deadeye
- Tireless Scorer
- Acrobat
- Relentless Finisher
- Tear Dropper
- Dimer
- Flashy Passer
- Lob City Passer
- Pick & Roll Maestro
- One Man Fast Break
- Charge Card
- Pick Dodger
- Pick Pocket
To Add:
Coming with 18 badges, he can have everything that is a must-have and one is basically choosing between luxuries.
- Ankle Breaker: Best when ball-dominant, because of his HoF P&R Maestro, and since one is choosing between luxuries, this is in play. Normally, I don't go for Ankle Breaker if space is tight.
- Posterizer: Again, sort of a luxury on a player who isn't supposed to be a dunker, but he dunks, with 60 Driving Dunk...so why not?
- Dreamlike: Not something you think of, because he's a guard and not a post-up guard, but he does have 88 Post Fade and that's a good weapon, so Dreamlike gives it more credibility, by making the faking of it that much more dangerous.
- Rim Protector: 60 Strength at 197lbs and 6'5" is alright, but 54 Low Post DIQ is terrible, so if you're facing a Magic/Oscar who wants to abuse in the paint, best not to play Pete at all. But Rim Protector would at least take away buffing from post badges to make it less overwhelming. Again: a luxury.
- Brick Wall: Another luxury that is always nice to have for off-ball screens.
- Bruiser: Another luxury that's nice to have to do maximum impact on ballhandlers.
- Hustle Rebounder
- Break Starter
There's 8 total there, 2 to cut out, but it's not that hard since I threw in virtually everything that is even somewhat potentially useful.
The ones that I think are top candidates to cut out are:
- Hustle Rebounder: He's a guard. Bad rebounding. Will get in position to board when defending drivers, but would put this luxury below the above ones.
- Break Starter: Same rationale.
So it seems pretty easy to me. But did I miss anything?Comment
