Cleveland will throw a lot of alley oops too.

Literally every jabstep into drive, or spin move is getting cut off. Shouldn't be seeing that when I'm using MJ driving against lower tier defenders.

Learning just some basic size ups and then sprinting in the opposite direction at the right time will make opening up space a TON of fun. Then you can start mixing in multiple size ups and hesitations to break down the defender and read if they’re giving you a lane to drive or if they’re backing off giving you space to pull-up or step back and shoot.

Just watch this short video and you’ll be good to go: https://youtu.be/A3q3tjM9Nq8

Curry was insane lol. He even got his 5th foul with 6min left in the 3rd. Managed to not get his 6th though.

The lobs were not present this game. Didn't see a single one. But it's the Warriors and they don't have a guy like Bam. I'll still probably eventually lower alley oop attempts to like 20-25 though.

There were a lot of backdoor cuts from them that succeeded. And IMO they made far too many highly contested inside shots.

Ok I was wondering if it was just me with the contested inside shots constantly dropping. Thank you! I know how precious 2Ks had the opposite problem of every inside shot missing if there was a defender within 3 steps of you, so I didn’t want to drop Inside Shot Success before verifying it with others.

Try Inside Shot Success around 52 or 50 and let me know if that fixes it. I’ll do the same later when I get back from the game [emoji1303]

Will do! What do you think about just testing inside shot tendency at 0 just to see what happens?

Going to play as Bucks vs Pacers. Hoping I can win a game by a good margin lol.

Lowered both cpu and user: inside shot to 50, close shot to 52.

Dropped take inside shots to 0. Dropped take close shots to 20. Raised take mid range to 55, and take 3pt shot to 60. Lowered throw alley oops to 20. Raised play passing lanes to 70, and go for on ball Steals to 80.

Sorry if this seems too much at once. Just wanna see how it plays out though. This game is so so good that I can feel the ability to get it to play out near perfect aligned with real life game stat averages.

Live streaming if anyone want to check out gameplay

That would make them pass up shots in the paint and lead to weird situations where they dribble under the basket and look for a pass (at least it did the past few years). I want them to attack inside, both to draw fouls and to collapse the defense leading to drive-and-kick plays.

So far I haven't really seen anything like that. Just had my first loose ball foul against the Pacers. Woo-hoo! Lol

Good base sliders Eccentric!! i made my own tweaks here and there for my liking. I'm 52 and for the life of me can't hit a consistent basket to save my life. Any tips on shooting!!

                Thanks again!!

Much better played out game. I saw quite a few really good things from the cpu. I really like where I have things now. 3pt fg% is too high which is an easy adjustment.

And not a slider thing but usually any year I've played 2k I had to go to 11min quarters for games played and simulated games to get consistent realistic stats for games played and simmed. This year is certainly no different so will be dropping to 11min quarters myself. Scored 40pts 24reb with Giannis.

11min quarters may mean adjusting things to get more turnovers, which is always extremely difficult. I still want more mid range pull ups from the cpu so going to try raising that even higher than 3pt shots. Inside at 0 and close at 20 was good. They PnR and attacked the rim well and hit the rolling screener a lot. You can see shot chart shows still probably too many shots inside. If they take more mid ranges I think it could be perfect shot distribution

I'm gonna have to figure how to slow down points in the paint and offensive rebounds. Jarrett Allen tortured me in the half I was able to play with these today (Cavs/CPU @ Clippers/Me). Wouldn't miss inside and even swished a Dirk-esque fadeaway. Think it might just be across the game with bigs abilities as Ewing wouldn't miss and couldn't be stopped when I was playing the Jordan Challenge with defaults. Besides that, this is already giving me really good gameplay, great work as always.

I think that bigs seem to be unstoppable as well. I haven't tried these slider adjustments yet, but on default All-Star Porzingis is a monster (he had 23 points at halftime against me with 4/4 threes on 9/10 shooting) and Gobert went 42 points and 20 rebounds on I think 80% FG from the paint. I don't even want to think about staring down Ewings and Duncans and Dirks, if middling offensive threats are this good

But I will give these sliders a go later.

Similar to the comments here, I just played my first game (current gen, so take any comparisons with a grain of salt, stats just posted in my new 2023 thread) and had too many made baskets near the rim. The rest of the stats were great.

I already had inside at 50 and Close at 52 (I based most of my sliders for my first game on the ideas here...thanks Eccentric as always) so I will need to experiment with some other tweaks or just drop Inside and Close a little lower.

Might raise Layup Defense Strength Release a bit more. Both takeoff and Release are at 65 currently.

From the CPU vs CPU side, I'll just say I've had great results with the alpha slider set. If you do CPU vs CPU, you definitely want Shooting Fouls at 90 on both sides, other than that I'm playing with sliders exactly as listed and the statlines are very close to real 2022 season averages across the board. Gameplay feels clean and about as realistic as you can get it in 2k. I'm also not seeing the same issue with Big Man domination, Bigs on CPU vs CPU with these sliders are playing about as you'd expect.

I guess one thing that may need some tweaking is that I'm seeing a lot of attempted--and missed--alley-oops. That probably could be toned down a bit.

Glad we’re all seeing the same issue with inside shot success. I didn’t want to go too hardcore on the base slider set, so I didn’t ramp up the Layup Defense sliders right out of the gate. I’ll tinker around with those and see what the best solution is to decrease FG% down low.

Ooh, I should have mentioned that CPU vs CPU games would need the Shooting Fouls slider upped to 90 for the CPU. Good callout.

And interesting to hear about the alley-oops as I only saw a few in my testing. I’ll have to knock that down a bit.

The alley oops attempts really depends on the team. Cavs and Heat attempt a ton. Team like the Warriors attempt zero. Guess the only guys who are allowed to get lobs are tall super athletic centers with high vertical attributes who can roll to the basket. Bam and Jarrett Allen definitely fit that mold. Bam with 83 vertical, Allen 79 vertical attribute. I bet C Brandon Clarke on Memphis would get a bunch of lob attempts as well. Maybe like any Center with vertical above 75 is one of the 2-3 requirements in order to be thrown a lob.
