Can you abuse pick and rolls with lead pass like last year?

aslo you can roll out of the triple threat hold both triggers moe the left analog stick away from the basket (youll see the animation im talking about) hold a direction as hes "protecting" the ball and he will spin off that way..

just for the record all you gusy who are me and KDRE's league are going to be in alot of trouble on xbl

Woke up at 2am, and the DL wouldnt finish until almost 7, go figure, long story. Only had a chance to play 2 games before work. It was well worth it though.

All I can say is, this league will be AWESOME, ALL OF THAT, EXCITING Wooooooooooooooooo! ...lol

Im not sure what build this is, but it looks terrific. You notice it right away. Load time is very minimal, and you notice the change in lighting and atmosphere right away.

Anyhow, I was able to do the spin off move from the post up! Looks very nice, VERY! Imagine doing this with Shaq and getting the dunk as he does.

I can tell you that I did it with Shaq this morning off of Damp and went up for the dunk, and oh man did it feel and look so much better.

Again, the atmosphere alone brings out an entire new element to the game. Just WOW!

          Re: Offical Demo Impressions

Loved the game, I noticed it was toned down alot just to create a demo and looked like it was from an earlier build, not any hair movement like I saw in another video. Plus the commentary was horrible calling everyone #34 and #41. I was like WTH....The controls are nice I play a few games as both teams.

D.wade looked ****ty in the screenshots, but was very detailed in the demo, and can imagine how much better he looks in the final version.

          J. Williams looks so much like himself while playing, I can see myself turning the by names option off this year. No need you can identify everyone by appearance.

Demo is great though, the stadiums are rediculous and its nice to know, they have even more detail than what is displayed in this demo.

                Re: Offical Demo Impressions

awesome demo so far. the gameplay is really fluid and realistic out of the box. some minor gripes i had though.

                - outlet passes...the gather animation makes the player slow down way too much. i can see if there was a player in front of you this would make sense. but if you're the only one down the floor and you receive an outlet, you should catch the pass in stride. they probably did this to prevent cheesing, but it should really be situational.

                - the broken ankles animation (where you do an isomotion over and the defender stumbles). so far i've only done this too the cpu, but that isn't realistic. at least not how often i was seeing it. hopefully that animation is only allowed at the easier difficulties, or it happens rarely. this type of animation should be left for streetball mode.

                - shots under the rim aren't very smart. i've gotten free and drove the lane and sometimes end up to far under the rim and the player puts up a shot directly into the rim. i've seen the cpu do the same.

i wish there was the either the 2k or high camera mode, since that's how i usually play. so maybe the last issue was just me not being use to the camera and getting to far under the rim. but the outlet passes should be smarter . you shouldn't always slow down. and the ankles broken animation happens way too often for a "sim" game (could just be the difficulty though). good thing the help d rotates fairly quickly so you can't really take advantage of it.

all in all, the gameplay was good.

Part of that is to force players to take better shot or do what you would do in real life which is bring the ball back out or pass it out to another player for a better shot.

Double-tapping the control stick would get the PG to do it sometimes but not sure if that's it.
From what I can tell, most of your teammates have to already be heading up court after the inbound or rebound. Not only PGs can do it, because I saw JWill and Wade both do it (no subs), WHen they start heading up court, you can press toward on the stick and you'll see the play called out. Another thing: I wonder if the playcalling is set to auto... and whether the animation where the PG calls plays coming up the court is tied to that....

                    Oh yeah, impressions:

Unreal. The pace of the game seems very good. 12 min quarters all of a sudden seems possible without a whole lot of slider editing. I know it's early, but I'm having a hard time seeing why this game wouldn't be sprts GOTY.

                    I'm late for work.

                      i agree!

when i first saw this on a vid i was like "nice lol" but then i saw it again in another vid and i was bit worried that this might be done too often...but then again in higher difficulties i doubt you'll see that broken ankle animation (hopefully only sometime like once out of 30 games)

This year beluba said if you pass to somebody with the regular pass button they will stop to catch. (because sometimes a shooter is in the perfect spot and when you pass he will move to catch or watever.) So this year if you want them to catch in stride you have to use the lead pass button.

i can understand that. but it seems to be a matter of not being context sensitive. i think it ties into the fact that the cpu doesn't use the backboard for a lot of their shots. most of the time, if you're under the rim, you need to extend and use the backboard. maybe you can manually do this...i'll have to check it out later. either way, not really a big deal.

i did this nice dunk with shaq where i posted, and then turned and took a couple dribbles and dunked it. but all i did was hold down the right trigger and push a direction on the shot stick. it was nice, but that animation was way too drawn out. that is something that should manually be controlled, i.e. i should have to manually turn and time my dunk.

some of the crossover animations are way too drawn out too.

Please excuse this ignorant question, but how do I perform crossovers and the like? Does this involve isomotion or is it an animation on its own?

                            Thanks.

nice! i didn't know that. i never used the lead passing button in 2k6 since i was always use to using the icon passing and leading that way. thanks for the info.

a positive thing i noticed is that you can actually dunk on someone. in 2k6 you'd go into your dunk animation, and the defender would go into this block animation, but there was no interation between the two...basically, you'd just run into each other. now, the collision animation is awesome, and you really get the feeling of dunking on someone. plus the fact that dunks rarely happen, it really adds emphasis to it.
