BTW, there's a thread asking for help with Isomotion where people obviously don't understand it and post the same gripes. Might want to take a look at it.

My intention was not to start 2k vs Live, but you have to mention the other game if they do something better. That's how you improve - by looking at what the other side is doing right.

Czar does 2k vs Live battle videos - so you're saying Czar is the only person who is allowed to compare the two games? The only time comparing the two is a problem is if you are being immature and overly insulting to the point of "fanboyism." If you are being logical and unbiased in your comparison (like Czar is) I don't see why it shouldn't be allowed.

I do agree that paint shots in 2k can get out of hand. But the problem I have with Live...Is that there too much contact....There is no isolating and if you do get by your man. That same guy is able to cause a collision animation even though you blown by him. I think with 2k all you need to do is fix the sliders.

I think the amount of collisions in Live is pretty realistic. If you really watch an NBA game, contact is happening non-stop. In real life very rarely does a player dribble for a few seconds without contact. And in real life, almost all inside shots have some contact.

Yea I totally agree on this...I stop posting on 2k because I couldn't talk about the other game. Especially if I'm talking about real stuff.

2k's jump shooting is also a mess. With most players you can only shoot "set shots" and 2k doesn't even allow most players to do leaners and moving jumpers. Live's jump shooting is pretty revolutionary and sooooo intuitive and quick - it is smooth as silk.

Every player has their own unique leaner, drifter, etc. I did a leaner with Elton Brand the other day. Hit the practice mode and check out the tutorial to gain more conrol of your shots. For the CPU, you can edit players shooting tendencies to get more leaners and such.

Every player has their own unique leaner, drifter, etc.

Not in my experience. I cannot get most players to do leaners no matter what I do with the shot stick. I have tried many times, and with most players, the game just won't let you do leaners - it forces you to do a set shot even if you are moving and move the shot stick.

In Live, this is not a problem. In Live, I can do any type of leaner with any player (obviously some players will drain leaners more than others based on ratings) but I like that Live gives you the option to do any type of leaner with every player in the game.

You have complete control of how you shoot the ball. The drifters are harder to do so start out simple with the leaners. You have to be between the 3 pt line and the free throw line to have the most success.

Dont use turbo

Push the left stick towards the basket

Pull the shot stick away from the basket

If you are to close to the basket you'll just do a lay-up

Like I keep saying....I blame 2k for not giving users enough info/or tutorials.


But that's one thing I don't like about your impression. Is that your basically saying I can't (or don't know how) control my players. So this game sucks.....Not exactly what your saying. But that's how it sounds to me.

The 2 problems I think people are having is there are holding speed too much and they don't take into account player momentum. The one thing I don't like in the other game. Is how your player can cancel anything that your doing just with a push of a button. But that's not realistic. Player shouldn't stop on a dime. I know I don't when I'm playing basketball.

There is a forum for it. Basketball (Other) is where you post your thoughts on the games opposed to each other.

Oh. I did not know this. I thought that forum was just general Basketball (NBA) discussion. Maybe they should change the name of that thread to "2k vs Live" so it's more clear.

This type of control scheme makes no sense and is not intuitive at all. They need to change it, as it is overly-complicated to do a simple leaner.
