Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I read around and some said you got a better play on Pro with the some decent sliders. So im on pro with early sliders. I played pro with Playmakers sliders and got a really good game. Would really hate to start over if in fact when a patch comes out we will be able to change difficulty and sliders during my PlayerLast edited by Sinner; 10-18-2009, 11:37 PM.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
yeah thats what I was thinking, but also the longer I wait the harder it will be to go back and start over. Would also hate if we can't change difficulty during My Player after patch. Even though im having fun its hard seeing the Timberwolves at 22-4 and 2 games ahead of the Lakers. Doesn't seem like it should be that way, even if it is just a game. *shrug*Last edited by Sinner; 10-18-2009, 11:42 PM.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Yeah, my thunder will sure not make it to 22-4, especially since we already have 6 losses, but we are probably going to be a playoff team which IRL the thunder won't be. Also, my player is probably playing slightly better than his overall rating but really it isn't too extreme.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Well, I'm finally getting the gist of this mode, I'm having more B+/A games.
I made it to the Lakers training camp, but they cut me after the 3rd game which annoyed me since I averaged A-/A/A, and met 8 out of my 9 goals for the game. I absolutely shut down the 3 other PGs on the Lakers but they still cut me >_<Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
If you are trying to play a position where a team is already kinda stacked with proven commodities then it is really tough to make it. Really would be much better if clone glitch wasn't there so you could choose which camp to go to. Also, although the teammate score will give you the most skill points and is therefore most important you eventually have to get those production points shown on the performance screen up there as well. I think that is kinda what the go off of for comparing players on the bottom of the roster along with teammate grade, goals, and the comparison. Also, the worse your overall is compared to those you are matched up with the more you have to outplay them by to make the team.Comment

I felt that my defense was pretty solid, I held Farmer to 2 points, Atkins to 2, and Fisher to 5.
I was averaging about 7.5 pts, 6 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game, with 1 turnover per game.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I believe Kcarr is spot on with the reason you were cut regardless of your playing (same happened to me on my second time around) so I played 7 or so D-league games and got called up to the Bulls.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Yes, even to make it as a backup on a team with really solid talent at a position you have to be pretty spectacular. I think it is kinda as though you have to show potential to eventually be the starter within the year because they already have solid enough backups.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
One more thing, if you go into the game analysis in the my player screen where you find the skill points and edit player screens it will show you a seperate grade for both offense and defense. I think both of those have to be solid, This means more than just having your opponent play passively when you are on defense. You also have to challenge shots, double some, tip some passes here and there, etc.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
On an unrelated note, anyone else not getting the "league rumors" to show up? I have lost starters on the Bulls (odds are due to me getting so much play time) but cant read the reason why so many players want traded or have been traded.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I think most if not all ratings actually effect your player. On ball defense from my experience really effects the rate at which you get "good shot defense" and lowers your opponent's shooting percentages by increasing your effect on them. Awareness probably has the least effect but it will help with making good passes or shots out of double teams on offense, not sure about defense.Comment
