    Re: My Player Progression Strategy

Thus far I'm rated 62 after 12 nba games(I was rated 45 coming into the draft). I get atleast 2000 skill points per game and I'm averaging 15pts, 11.2rbs 3ast 1stl and 1.6 blks. The first thing I did was work on my physical since I'm a athletic 6'8 pf that plays at the 3 sometimes. So far my speed is at 70, quickness 60 stamina 85, vertical 99, def rb 93, off rb 75, low post d 82, and def awareness at 73. I play for the wolves and just took Kevin Love starting spot 3games ago. This game is so darn fun

I have a problem with free throws when its not the default camera, I cant seem to make it for the life of me; I wish I could just use the default for all the shots and not just the last one.
The CPU really doesn't play well when down in the final minute. Down 4 with 20 seconds left they will hold the ball down to like 5 or 6 seconds and take a 2 and if the opponent has the ball when we are down 4 with 20 seconds left my teammates won't foul making me chase down the ball handler, chance being penalized for leaving my man, and commit the foul. Otherwise they wait a good 10 seconds to foul.

As for the freethrows I have one that I have found a decent rythem for so it isn't that much of a problem. One time however I was halfway through my freethrow and it decided to switch views. I got confused and way overshot it.

I guess its a controller issue on my end. Because I have my freethrow release perfect. But the first one is always noted as bad release unless I let it go early. The second is always noted correctly though (Perfect release).

My team only has 1 Center (Mbenga) and he's on reserve. So really, we don't have a center and we get outrebounded all the time. No wonder we lose

Not to mention in addition to what you listed, I never see my team play full court D. Nothing like taking a breather for 2 min in the 3rd and coming back onto the floor all the sudden down 10+ and no sence of urgency from the cpu....

Ill keep working on the freethrows, but still would prefer the default angle.

I noticed a difference in release between the first and second free throws too this year... I think that's been in 2K games for a while now but normally it was worse online. I never know if I'm just tripping or what, but it definitely seems like the first one is earlier than the 2nd, I almost always get "slightly late" on the first and "slightly early" on the 2nd even though my release is basically the same judging by the animation and my internal timing.

Yeah, I hate how poorly the team plays without me at times. I will leave a game up 2 and come back in down 8 or 10 or so just a couple minutes later.

I too would prefer the default angle but I have gotten used to it I guess. The one thing veiw-wise that really bothers me is twice now it has brought up some statistic or standings banner during actual gameplay and then you can't see what is going on during the game. I like the banners when they are shown during stoppages in gameplay but they should not ever be shown during play.

I've had some really nice games with 9 minute quarters, occasionally the scoring gets out of whack but I played another game where the score was 103-99...

My only gripe is the game is seeming a little bit too easy right now, right now we've got the best record in the conference and have only lost 3-4 games...
That is pretty good. I played behind antwan in one of my attempts. My highlight of my current on so far was coming across the lane to block kobe with like 2 seconds left in a game that we were up by 2.

Only highlight I have worth mentioning is we were on a fast break and I passed it down the court to Rose and instead of him taking the bucket he tossed it up off the glass and I slammed it home.

                    Re: My Player Progression Strategy

Just had a breakthrough game with my athletic SF:

                    32 pts
                    19 rebs
                    3 ast
                    16/19 shooting

Finally began to dump points into shot inside & shot close. I get majority of points from offensive putbacks and cuts to the basket. I'm still not a good midrange/perimeter shooter, want to get those up but I think I'm going to concentrate on defense first.

Also I'll mention my dunking is 71. I play for the Lakers right now and we are struggling. It's February and we are 9th in the conference. We traded away Bynum for Ben Gordon and the line up is now Kobe, Me, Artest, Gasol, and Powell. I'm starting to care less about winning now and just getting high performance ratings because it doesn't seem like things are in order out here and LA. Phil's nonchalant *** is usuallly propped up in his seat in 4th quarters not subbing in starters down the stretch. We often have matchup issues then and we can never close out a game. Cryin shame... I was running the Triangle offense for a while but now I'm just worried about my man playin good. Generally when he plays good though we have a better chance at winning anyway...

I really need that patch to come though, 5 minute quarters SUCK. I can't even compare how we're doing with the rest of the league!

Oh and does anyone have a free throw problem? The first freethrow always ends up being very late but the second one I do the exact same release and get perfect. This didn't become a problem til I got to hte NBA and it bothers me, I wanted to be a top freethrow shooter....
this made me laugh....well im with the Wolves still, we are 15-2 me and Jefferson are tearing it up...long with Fernandez. Stats so far 26.8pts 5.2asp, 4.9rpg, and 2.3topg and Im still hating this team, im just not feeling Minnesota heh...btw my rating is 61 but it shows 60 with a arrow down -1..whats up with that?

Is there a way to call for a lob? I feel like there is but I don't recall.

My only highlight thus far was dunking on former Los Angeles Laker Sun Yue. He had it coming.

And since this is the "My Player Progression Strategy" thread, my strategy is to add points to my real life strengths, as I'm using. . .myself. So, that meant even though it may have made more sense to add points to certain guard skills, vert and dunk were both necessities early on, for I could not stand playing with a video game version of myself that couldn't do things real life self could do.

Overall, I'm trying to create a juiced up version of my real life game.

I agree, I think overall they gimped the players a little too much at creation however from a dev standpoint I can see why they did it.

As far as calling for it I have no idea the few oop's I have taken its been all automatic and I have just been going to the hoop for a fast break or potential rebound.
