Your guy being a perimeter PF will probably get time as a SF just cause he is a perimeter type player. I had a 7'2" athletic center put in at SF and the other team had a SG in at SF. I also had a 6'10" back to the basket PF put in at SG one time in the summer circuit. One thing that I really don't like is how you can't set your second position and the coach seems to think you should play out of position much more often that other players. When I was a PF I played most of my time at C and now I am a C and spent most of the summer league playing PF. They really need you to set a primary position and choose all other positions you are willing or able to play. It could lead to a little cost/reward thing as being able to play more positions could raise your draft stock as you are seen as more versatile, maybe increase your chances of not being cut in camp and if they actually made you make a showing to be able to make a camp then increase the number of camps offered and also increase minutes as you can backup several positions and play several positions but then as a downside you would have to play out of position a lot more. On the other hand if you set just the one position then you don't get those benifits but you only have to worry about playing your position.

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Thanks man. I think it must be inside shot because when i am doing the shooting drill my player will regularly do this lame looking one handed shot that airballs every time when i'm attempting close shots. I'm not shooting out of the post or anything so it must be close shot i think. Kinda weird because it's already at 60 i think so surely that should be high enough not to airball 1 or of every 5 shots from 3 feet away from the basket??Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Well my new strategy goes as this: Play the games..spend the points on the places that you would like to do drills for..after do the drills so you are getting free points on the area that would be expensive using points...other than that it depends on who your player is.. I would say the most important attributes are consistency, stamina, shoot in traffic.off dribble imo for general players...
But unluckily I think I need to start over..I am pretty sure I made the quarters 10 minutes long and I am getting ridiculous scores...I am also using new sliders, but I don't know if they carry over to my player, I am guessing they don't.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I usually spend all my point before going into drills for the same reason, making the skills that I will get more valuable, but I usually do the drills before the games because I figure those points from the drills will make me a better player giving me better performance in the games and in turn more points.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I got signed to a 10day with the Lakers (which seems to be permanent because its been a month and my mentor keeps talkin about "these teams" are interested). Anyway, we were losing alot at first but then I turned on auto offensive playcalling and started getting into the Triangle offense. Boy I tell you, that makes things run a helluva lot smoother. No more streetball.
I was starting over Kobe at once (which bothered me) but it turned out to be because of his strained quad (he still played though). I REALLY wish I could start over Fisher but sadly, I'm a natural SG so I can only get subbed in at PGXbox 360 GamertagRAW 910

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Started over because of the minutes and clone glitch, I have an athletic 6’1 PG overall 52 (think Rajon Rondo) and made it through one cut of training camp. I was selected 2 round pick number 3 (Overall 33rd pick) to the Portland Trail Blazers. My PG is unofficially a combo Guard (PG/SG) and his consistency is a 80. Mid range shot is in the low 60’s and 3 point is low 40’s. Speed is not a problem (80’s) but I need a little help. From reading this tread, there seems to be a consensus on how to shop around for a decent scorer which is good but, I would like to know how do you guys get a bulk of your points? Is there a particular dill you guys focus on more or do you ball you a** off in those games and bank points to drastically improve you game and rating?
Also any suggestions (things I should invest points in) on how to make my PG in to a Monta Ellis type player. Thanks in advance.Favorite Games:River City Ranson-NESTecmo Super Bowl-SNESNBA LIVE 95-SNESNCAA Gamebreaker 98-PS1College Hoops 2k8-xbox360

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
As an athletic PG you have the speed and decent enough finishing ability to get by to start with. Those things can probably wait a little while. If you are looking to attack the hoop you might add some ball handling, possibly up to the point where you get the pro guard ball handling abilities, I think it is around 65 maybe 70.
The best thing you can do however to help your penetration ability is to improve the mid range game. This will force your man to step up and guard you and get you a lot of easy buckets that will help you get hot. Work on mid range shooting and shoot off the dribble to help here.
Also, shoot in traffic will help in any area of scoring and isn't very expensive.
As far as points and drills with a pg I usually do the shooting drill and just shoot mid range shots to improve my mid range shooting. In games I mostly concentrate on getting my teammate grade up and when it is up to A+ I take more chances. Also, I spend points as soon as I get them. I figure if whatever skill I buy helps me make even one more play and get a few more points and help my chances at more minutes then it was worth it.Comment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
Argh, I'm starting to get frustrated as I've already played 14 games in the NBDL avging. 21.4 ppg 4 rpg and 2 apg. I wanna get called up soon. So far I've just been upgrading my player as I go during the season. It's annoying as I played the same opponent for like 4-5 games in a row. Weird scheduling.
If anything, they shoulda add some interest tab where the show what teams are interested in you.

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
So I made a PG in the combine and he is great. got drafted by the cavs, did the off season staying with them, Spent 7 games in the Dleages, got to mid december and got the call to come up. I am now just starting January, starting over Mo Williams at a rating of 70 and doing pretty dang well with 7 minute quarters.
Do anyone know how to make just a PG and not a guy like mine who is a PG/SG?
MY PG is an athletic, 6'2 175 pound guy. ThanksComment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I'm a 6'2' point guard, do you think raising block will make any difference? Does it make much of a difference in general? I know last year, the rating didn't really matter, how about this year?
I've got a good vertical, so I can get up thereComment

Re: My Player Progression Strategy
I personally think raising your block is one of those stats thats more for the AI if they were playing your character although there could be some sort of % chance built into it for the user as well. Either way for me I dont think I will be raising mine above 50 unless I end up flooded with points and nothing to spend them on at some point.Comment
