Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

Started a SF career due to forgetting to save the PF. Best choice I ever made. As a.PF I never had a double double but in my 1st combine game I went 18 points 14 rebounds and 5 assist. Projected 1st round 19th pick(Celtics). Game two n three will be played tomorrow.

6'5 245lb. 3-Pt. SF/SG was drafted 1st round 30th overall by the Wizards. Played 6 games in the D-league averaging 12 pts. 46% from 3-pt. before being called up to the NBA.

He's the second highest 3-pt. shooter on the team at 80 (highest is 81) but is very bad a rebounds, blocking/defending and handling. I'm focusing on upgrading man defense and handling/security so he doesn't get the ball stolen as much.

Also like to upgrade awareness because I hate seeing his OVR at 51 or whatever it is at the moment.

Does anyone else get put at different positions a lot?
I'm playing a lot of PF on Grizz. I know Rudy Gay in there. But I'd rather not play PF all the time.
Asked for a trade but still haven't granted me it yet. Thinking of making a new guy. (Not only because this reason.)

It depends. I mainly get put in at SG/SF and I am a SG. But one game I played PG for what seemed like forever because of foul trouble for the starting PG.

It also depends on who you are playing behind. You will definitely not take minutes away from Gay until you get better.

I am a 5"11 172 point guard(this is what I am irl) that was drafted 30th overall to the Wizards. I don't know if this is normal but I skipped training camp and was immediately signed on to the 15 man roster after summer LG. I am having so far a mixed season. My debut was good but the next few games some highs and lows and I recently had to miss 6 days with back spasms because I tried to ISO with Amare which worked but was hacked on the way. I am looking to gain a larger role once I play more games and get my rep up so other teams can pursue me so I don't have to request one later.

It's normal. They took out training camp to add the combine.

I really don't like that they took out training camp. At 47ovr I should not be on the roster. There is little time for development before the NBA. Seriously at 47 why am I not in the D-League?

Oh, I almost forgot why is a 6'11 264lbs power forward not automatically given the ability to dunk? I have trouble just making layups.

How did that happen? That happened to me in 2k10 when I quit a game, assinged some sp and went back.

Ratings don't really mean much to me when playing this. My guy is rated 59 right now and my mid range j is lights out. Any team would keep a guy who can consistently produce for them. If you perform well on the court why would a team send you to the D League to develop? That is the purpose of the teammate grade thing. That is an indicator of how well you perform in every game.

6'4'' SG...got drafted to the Grizzlies and played my first game...got way too many points though, guess I'll go to all star. 25 points in a summer game draining 4/4 3's or something like that. Still only 46 OVR rating.

Excelling in one aspect of the game doesn't warrant a spot on the roster. Look at Hasheem Thabeet he was a good defender but lacked the offensive skills necessary to really compete in the West. Even though he only spent 9 days in the D-League his game improved and he was recalled.

A couple of us got drafted by the Hornets at 11th.

I think some people got into the single digits though.

This is exactly what I came into this thread for. With all the new plays it really is a shame that we can't let the CPU call plays automatically like we could last year. I hope that this can be patched in as it really takes away a lot of the sim aspect that 2k has worked so hard at implementing this year.

Is it too early to start a patch wish list thread or is that being covered in the glitch thread?

yeah but Thabeet wasn't producing. If you are putting up decent numbers and helping your team win the rating is irrelevant. It's not like in real life Phil Jackson is going to call Jim Cleamons over while looking at a rookie trying to make his squad and go "Hey Jim this kid has been putting up great number so far and really looks like he can contribute right away. Shame his offensive awareness is only 54 so we better ship him down to the D league".

What qrt length are you guys using to get realistic scoring numbers this year?
