Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

I just picked up this game and I'm having a hard time in this mode. I created an athletic PF and got drafted 24th in the first rd. I got advice about pumping up def awr and off awr. They're both 99 atm. My overall through 7 games is 59.

I've been going through this thread and seeing guys score 20+ points, grab 10+ rebs. per game. How are you guys doing this with a player rated around 50? All I can do right now is set screens, grab boards, and score a bucket or two a game off pick and rolls or putbacks after offensive rebs. Should I pump up scoring with my skill points?

Off and def awr is useless, minus them and use it on your shooting and stuff

a higher overall means absolutely nothing if you dont have all the intangibles at a decent number...this coincides with both offensive and defensive awareness...both attributes does absolutely nothing for your player unless you simulate the game...it's a waste of skill points in that sense

you should have poured points into verticals, medium shot, shoot off-dribble and consistency from the get go...it wont give you a higher overall(probably hovers at around 45-50) but you will be more useful to your team and have a more decent stat sheet

the high rebound total is more so due to the second patch that was released for this game than actual skills...when i started this my player career before the patch(october) it was hard grabbing 4-5 rebounds at my height of 6'3''...now, at the same height and with the patch installed im still that same PG but now i bully big men down low and do whatever i want to them on the boards(yes, i am aware of how this sounds like O_o) on my way to become the rebounding champion on season 2...im currently in a tight race for the rebound league against dwight howard at the all-star break of season 3...he has like 20 or so rebounds more than i do because i've missed a few games due to injury or i played some games with foul trouble

strength is not so useless(for non G). I can understand for PG or SG. But for F's and C's it is essential. At first I did not plan to be a post up player. But I am trying to become an all around scorer. Plus on defense being posted up you wont get backed down as easy with a high strength.
I am about to boost Strength and Off and Def Post.

valid points but bruins is a Scoring PG so he doesnt need strength at the moment

I agree. I did not care about strength when I played as a PG.

I am glad I went to a rebuilding after I got my offense to be good. I get a ton of plays called. Compared to my last team, I get a lot of shot attempts in side the 3pt line. This team lives or dies by me. I should be the Floor General in a few games.
                Since I am the go-to-guy, I need to boost post-up and 3pt.
                Positives:
                We have K. Perkins
                Go-to-guy
                Playbook
                Good Defense
                Negatives:
Inconsisent shooters(Everyone has it who plays MP)
                Teammates commit alot of turnovers.

im a stickler for the default rosters with the current players of the nba...which is why im like back and forth on this matter...but i want to create a PF(to practice with post moves) and begin a new career on my player but that's just a distraction and i should hurry up and finish my third season

im so indecisive at times and so non-committed i swear lol

I can tell you some attributes you need for PF, because Piston run alot of 3 guards and I play PF time to time.

:Shoot in traffic and off dribble
                    shot inside and close
                    Off and Def Post
                    Strength
                    Dunk
                    Ball Secruity
                    Vertical
                    Layup
I need to improve these since I play PF time to time and so I can be a all around player

I do know All around PF has under 50 speed. Athletic has 60 speed. It counts on what you want to be. Since I play SF and Detriot runs 3 guards sometimes I play PF sometimes. I would be a Post Up Shooter.
I got my 3pt to 61. I am about to try to max my Shoot Low post

Just had my best game ever(besides my 30-30). We were down 21. We came back to win. What made it significant was that I missed most of the 2th and 3rd because of foul trouble. I had 42 pts and 23 rbs. I had 22 pts in the 4th Q. alone. We out scored them 38-15 in the 4th.
If only it was a Key game I would have gotten close to 5000 skill points.
                          Just got the Magazine Cover.
I will see if I can upload some pics.

The bottom two ended up being layups. I still cant dunk.

lol! Funny to see a guy go up that high just for a layup.

if anyone knows how to actually call a successful alley oop play that ends up in a dunk...please tell me...

i know how to call for an alley oop...it's the finishing part...i can only do what illwill10 can and that's merely flicking the ball in for a tip in...all my stats are maxed out so i dont know what the issue is...timing? height? because im thinking if im at the point where i can flip the ball in...it shouldnt be all too impossible to throw it down

this is the only thing i havent been able to do in the game with my PG...i've already done a putback dunk once which i wont lie, came to me as a surprise
