Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

I suggested earlier that if the team was to make your base level higher, and make you progress slower. I still support that idea because it seems like a reasonable compromise. However, it doesn't solve every problem, and creates one of it's own. Milestones will still lead to jumps, and your teammates need you to get good quickly so you can carry their dead weight to victory.

As long as milestones exist, there would probably still be a big jump from the Rookie season to the second season, and then again to the third season. that makes sense because that seems to be the rate most players improve at.

However, if your player is going to improve more slowly, then Teammate AI must improve so that you don't feel forced to carry your team. You shouldn't have to score 40 points a game as a second year player for your team to succeed, especially when you already have great players on your team. If you progess more slowly, it's going to take you longer for you to be able to score those 40 points in a way that is efficient(and thus helps your team).

I don't think it's too easy, I just think that the jump in "difficulty" as you change from pro to all star to superstar is ridiculous. Unfortunately, it's too much like jumping difficulty levels in any of the Civ games, the CPU gets way too many "gimmes", making it harder for you to do the things that make the game fun, i.e. winning. And not because of anything you do, oh no, it's because suddenly the CPU players can't miss (Yao Ming, 20ft baseline, every time... seriously?) and your teammates couldn't hit water by throwing a rock into the ocean.

          Exactly.
It forces you to have to be a superstar every game. I want to get 10+ assists without 80% of them being layup/dunk. 1 playoff game vs. Magic, They literally made all their open shots and we missed most of ours.
The main/biggest wish for MP in 2k12 is Sliders. So we dont have to be stars every night(unless you want to)

This isn't a thread about Association mode and I doubt a My Player will have that a long career.

Re: Your Myplayer Career (NBA 2K11)

Oh man, just had an **** 4th quarter in game 7 of the finals.

I have 24 entering the 4th and shooting well. 3-point game.

Lebron suddenly enters ****-you mode and starts hitting everything. He ends up with 44 for the game.

Unfortunately for him I was also in ****-you mode. I drop 9 in the first two minutes and 15 seconds of the fourth quarter, including two ice-cold three pointers, and then Phil Jackson decides I need to rest on the bench for 2 minutes with 6 minutes left in the season and the team up 6.

Come back in after watching Lebron continue to **** the Lakers, and drop 13 points in the final 3 minutes, Lakers win by 10, Kobe is now Jordan's equal.

Dropped another ice-cold ultimate dagger three with 30 seconds left and the Lakers up 5. GAME OVER. NO CHAMPIONSHIP FOR THE HEAT!

Lakers outscore the Heat 39-32 in the 4th thanks to 21 pts from their rookie PG.

Best part about playing the Heat is when Wade goes out, they put Eric Beverly on me and I just have my way with him. Had several coast to coast dunks on his punk ***.

Also had a dunk on this punk ***:

                Wade 6-22, 1-7 from 3PT land. CHOKE!

                Awwwyeah

The highest my player goes is until you are in the league 20 years. Atleast that's what I heard

Shooting drill so hard as center.

Four tries and can't get gold, and even if I get gold, it's the useless shoot of dribble stat I get.

Edit: Wow... I forgot to turn off autosave for my sixth try so I just lost a drill. soooo frustrating.

And oh yeah, this game is not easy for everyone. As a PG and other shorter players, you progress quickly but big men progress very very slowly. I have done 40 games on my center and there hasn't been much improvement so far. And I'm playing on pro, but it's still very difficult as center.

The game would be best suited, by raising the starting level, and decreasing the rate at which you improve. This way there is both more there at the beginning, which for me was just painful and boring, but also less of such a rapid rise to being the best player at your position.
I have gotten an A+ just about every game for 40 games with my athletic center and he hasn't gotten better at all. It's incredibly hard because you can't take more than 3 steps without losing the ball, you can't control your team's shooting habits, you're way too slow to run around to get open. No open looks means having to score by posting up 1 on 1, and performing post moves in this game is harder than isomotion-ing your way to score with a smaller player.

Ok for some reason when I post, this stuff at the bottom comes up and I can't delete it, just ignore it:

Lakers traded Ron Artest for Kyle Lowry, who is now my backup. Steve Blake got bumped to third.

Jared Dudley is starting now at SF which THRILLS me because that guy can hit three pointers like crazy. Should be good for some assists. Also plays good defense.

Is there a way to see what other team's rosters are on My Player?

That's it. I'm rage quitting this mode. Averaged 35pts, 6rbs, 12asts w/ Heats in the finals in rookie season. Was season mvp and finals mvp. I wanted to leave Miami in the offseason, but only got offers from teams that already had a star PG.. boston, chicago, & okc. So I decided to return to Miami. I became a backup.
