Exactly. The beautiful thing is we have options, one is not better than the other.

This game give the individual player the options to play to his skill level.

That is what the Show, NB2K11, NHL 2011, and the FIFA series do better than anyone else. You can find a happy medium through various play levels and good slider tweaks. And I will give props to Madden 2011 and NCAA 2011 in this aspect as well. With the right sliders those 2 games are playing great.

I know I have said it before but has there ever been a year as good as this for Sports gamers?

    Hell no.

I guess your talking about as far as the AI...id rather have the AI hit shots..makes it far more challenging. Wouldnt want to play against someone tho using real FG%. That just means pick the teams with the best FG%

and BTW Rondo does hit 3's every now and then so its not like that was impossible...if it was Shaq i could see your gripe

Yep, I'm all for giving the user plenty of options in a video game.

I agree that this year (despite a lot of chirping from the vocal minority) has been very solid for sports gaming. All those games you mentioned I own (aside from FIFA) and I enjoy all of them, although Madden is probably the most frustrating, but it is still a solid game.

This. I tried playing about 5 or 6 games with real %, and it sucks. Couldn't make a jumper to save my life. Put it back on timing and it's playing great. Shooting a realistic per engage all over the floor as opposed to 25%...

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?

Having played both now quite a bit I'd have to say that having control of the shot manually and not adding another ai induced event to the equation.

It's forced me to learn my players individual release points and added another layer of challenge and not a dice roll per say.

Still a huge high five to the development team for adding both options.

Re: Will You Use Real Player % Or Shot Stick Timing?

Seems to still be confusion on what the difference is between Shot Stick and Real FG%. Below is what the dev said earlier in the thread.

                  Shot Stick Timing
With this option turned ON, as the name implies, your timing release will be factored in to your shot %. It's layered on top of the player's Shot Rating, type of shot taken (jumper, drifter, leaner, etc), defense impact, etc. Being really late or really early on your release will have negative impact, and being perfect on your release will give you an added boost in making the shot.

                  Real Player %
When you turn this ON, it's basically ignoring your release on the Shotstick completely. You won't get penalized for early or late releases. The same factors come into play as mentioned above, sans the stick release bonus/penalty. Pretty much how Real FT % works. We simply migrated the feature over to all the shots as well.

As for people struggling with it. Hot/Cold, what zone your in, who is covering you, etc, etc still factors.

Same here - Except I will use FG%. I dot want my inability to memorize every players release point to negatively affect the players statistics. I feel the players should be able to hit certain shots, under certain conditions, without any "3rd party" intervention.

Great players make tough shots - often late or even off balance. This will help get realistic numbers in the end of the day

im really starting to question this shot stick timing option now man. im seeing foolishnes now. once u learn someone's release ur making damn near everthing. half the time it dont matter if u got a hand in ur face or not. meaning u can use certain players better than they really are because u learned there release.

Man there are no flashers... now what are we going to do for vd
I'm sure there's plenty of prostitutes you could pay if you really want vd.
yea but will they take psn cards
Depends on what area of a hooker you would use to redeem them.

Yeah, shot success is heavily dependent on the release point this year. I wish there was a slider that could determine how heavily the game took the user's timing into account.

^^ so true, i shouldnt be missing wide open 3s even though my release isnt perfect. But i dont want my shot to be entirely random either

This is why my friends and I have been using real player% for everything. We don't want to frustations of missing wide open shots. And we also don't want someone like me. Who once I get someone release down in a game. I'm unstoppable.

glad this isnt availiable in every game mode. would suck if your practice means nothing because the CPU predetermins the shot success regardless of my release.
